"I heard rumors about how it started between those two. Vah was interested in human emotions and behavior, and so she started researching them. By the looks of it, Stefan helped her out a little." said Roy.
He noticed that Soren and Melethia were gone, which only increased his suspicions. Then, when he heard a faint scream from inside, it could only mean one thing.
He was imagining things. That had to be the reason for all this.
The song suddenly ended, and a new one began almost instantly.
To tease Alcyone and help get his mind off what he had seen, he dipped the morph backwards gently and he leaned in a little closer to her.
"You know...you're cute, but even cuter up close." he teased.

Tacitus pushed the sage off of her. "You are troubling her... back away!" Tacitus struggles slightly as he brought Sue to her feet and began to lead her inside the castle.

She didn't want to talk about it. She didn't want to think about it. She collapsed into Soren's arms, half-comatose with relief. "Thank you." She managed to get out before the blackness absorbed her consciousness.

Marshmallow Kitty Amelia released a breath she hadn't realized she was holding. "Thank goodness," she whispered. She put a hand at her side, then inhaled deeply. "Crisis averted... Thank you, Soren," she whispered. Amelia went back to Stefan and Vaherianslyeri. "Ah... as I had asked, are you two enjoying yourselves?" she smiled sheepishly. Smooth, repeat your question...
"Yes, Madam... And you are?"
She could only hope that, amidst all the chaos, she just hadn't forgotten.
That would be embarrassing.

Hoping desperately for his words to soothe the girl's distress, he threw himself back against her, hugging her tighter, and rubbing her back gently.

Tibarn chuckled, "Well, Lyre, you are always welcome to come and visit my kingdom. I'll gladly take you for a stroll through Serenes, it's quite beautiful now that life has been restored." He unwrapped his wings from her, finally folding them comfortably and smiling. His eyes kept flicking, however, to Stefan and Vaherianslyeri. They seemed a tad... closer than they had earlier. He'd have to make his way over to say hello when this song ended.

"Amelia," she said, smiling wide. "I haven't gotten to really speak to you before. I don't think being out of my usual uniform helps much with the recogniz...ation? Recognizing," she amended her last word. She nodded back to the archer.

Vaherianslyeri "Thank you... thank you." Words could not express her relief- she had at least expected to be admonished, and turned in, at the worst. Her notes had not told her that anything this positive could come from interpersonal communications, and she was now pleasantly surprised. One account, only one, that did not features backstabbing, lying, or other acts of cowardice that hurt others.
Humanity had a chance, yet.
"I am glad there is." She added softly to Stefan, not looking at him, but at Maln.
Her eyes still moved every so often to the figure of the hawk and cat, dancing as if the whole world had vanished. Flawless, the form of the bird, as flawless as his effortless flights through the sky.
The cat, as if made of liquid steel and pure grace.
"The laguz... surely there is someone that understands them, as well. You are proof enough of that. If we can make peace here..."
However, Amelia had moved towards them, and she looked at the girl with surprise. She had never been on friendly terms with this human before- she couldn't remember speaking to her for an extended period of time, if at all- and nodded courteously to her.
"Yes, Madam... And you are?" "Ah, Amelia. Yes, we are having a pleasant time." He regarded the girl with warmth. Her constant cheeriness was something a cynic had to appreciate. He then thought about what Vaherianslyeri was saying, "Hmmmm, I suppose you are right. However, we don't want to interrupt their dance with such serious matters..."

Tacitus shoved the sage off of Sue once again. This time, he secretly revealed an unsheathed talwar blade, as a threat to the sage, but did not let Sue see. Tacitus whispered to the sage. "Do not stir trouble... this is a peaceful party, right now... do you want to be the cause of many deaths...?" With that, Tacitus resumed helping Sue inside.

Soren looked toward the one who was accompanying him and Melethia. "Thank you," he said as he adjusted the girl's body. He stood, now carrying Nino. He looked toward Melethia. "You wouldn't happen to be able to take her away, would you?" He paused, then turned his head away. "...No, it would be more reasonable for me to take her. I can claim a mount from the stalls...and my absence from the party is easy to justify... Or maybe I could use my staff to warp her, with someone else to take care of her..."
He was hurrying down the hallway, spouting all sorts of mumbled plans to himself. "Or maybe someone could fly her...maybe she could hide in my or Roy's room until -- no, that wouldn't work..." He was rambling, muttering frantically, his mind racing...

Rei couldn't just sit still during a party like this. Everyone was mingling and having fun except him, and it got him down. So, he got up from the general area of the punch, disturbed after seeing a wyvern eat, like, half of the food, and walked over to Amelia, who seemed especially lonely.

"Good," was Amelia's response. She adjusted her hat, but at the mention of Lyre and Tibarn, her green eyes turned to see them. She smiled. "They look so nice together," she commented absently. "It's so fun to see everyone dressed differently, even for a night. Or just able to loosen up. Y'know?" Amelia looked back at the two for confirmation.
Rei's footsteps hit her ears, although it wasn't until he was quite close to his stopping point that Amelia registered them through the orchestra and the chatter of people. "Rei!" Amelia smiled. "Probably redundant to ask, but are you having fun? How's it seem everyone else is doing?"
