"Hmm," Tony murmured thoughtfully, "I see. And how to you suggest I do that? I have absolutely no idea who he is, what he looks like, or where he is likely to be. You would have better luck just flying around until you bump into him." He seemed to be utterly unimpressed, even enjoying himself-- a bit... strange, considering the circumstances. Then again, Tony always had been cocky.

"Oh, do you like it?" Tony asked offhandedly, "Actually, yes; you're right. I probably could figure something out, given a little time. Speaking of things I can figure out given a little time, didn't you wonder why no one stepped in during your little, ah.. spat with that other gentleman?"

"No," Tony said pleasantly, "As I was saying. While you and your friend were playing, I was watching. And scanning. And analyzing. Those rings of yours are really quite fascinating. You're not a scientist at all, are you? Do you understand the principles your weapon is based on? I discovered that your ring operates at a specific frequency-- the same frequency as the color yellow, predictably enough, but at a much faster rate, which allows it to take solid form. I was able to create an opposing frequency. 180 degrees off. They cancel each other out, I suppose is what I'm trying to say."
With this, he pressed a button on his wrist, and a large, semi-transparent purple bubble enveloped the whole of Stark Industries, with Tony just inside and Sinestro just outside. "Now. If you want to come in, there is absolutely nothing stopping you. I did not have time to modify the frequency enough to allow offensive capabilities. However, know that inside this area, your ring will not function. Of course," he said, amusement lacing every word, "My fancy suit is bound by no such restrictions, and I will proceed to beat the ever living crap out of you. Completely your call, though."

Sinestro sneered. "Of course my ring operates at a faster rate. It operates at the speed of thought, using fear as its fuel." With that, he formed two spears using his ring, one on either side of him, both aimed at Iron Man. "The question is, will it cancel out before or after I impale you?" The spears launched theselves at Iron Man at the speed of a freshly fired bullet.

The spears got as far as the bubble, and then simply... vanished. Tony appeared to relax slightly. "Oh, good," he breathed, then quickly added, "Uh... Not that I wasn't sure that it was going to work. Just didn't have time to... You know... double check all the math. Not that I need to. Ever." He'd actually been hoping that the lantern would just go away without testing the invention, even though the chances of an error had been minimal... Well... Less than 20%. Anyway, it was now clear that the thing worked perfectly, which was the important bit.

Sinestro actually seemed both amused and impressed. "You act without thinking of your own safety. The Green Lanterns would approve." Then his face became one of intense hate. "I despise that." His ring glowed intensely as Sinestro rose into the air, and an extremely large ballista appeared under him. "Your field can handle speed. But what about concentrated power?" The ballista fired, Sinestro concentrating on it with all his might.

The field handled it like a pro, and Tony was clearly back to enjoying himself. "You clearly don't understand the science behind what I'm telling you. It doesn't matter what powers your ring; the very frequency behind it's operation is being completely canceled out. Go away, please. I've got BOATLOADS of work to do." He did. Plus, the line sounded REALLY GOOD.

Sinestro narrowed his eyes, and said, "We shall meet again." With that, he took off towards one of the cities that he did not recognise.

"And when we do, this thing WILL have offensive capabilities," Tony snapped. With that, he flew back inside to work on finding someone who could stop that idiot right then. Maybe he could scan for similar frequencies to the one that made up the energy of Sinestro's ring? It was a place to start, anyway.

Green Lantern appeared in front of Stark Industries in a flash of blue light. "Hm... This wasn't here before..." He walked through the front door, noticing a large gauge cut into the side of the building. It was still smoking, despite being made of metal, and there was even a small, localized fire being handled by a robot. The scarring also told a story all its own. Telltale signs of a power ring. Sinestro. He walked to the front desk, which was deserted, possibly due to the attack, and waited.

A minute later, a distracted-looking iron man met him... sans the fancy robotic suit. "Good to meet you in person," he said, holding out his hand to be shaken.

Tony raised his eyebrows, as the damage to his building seemed to suggest the start of the encounter well enough, but answered after only a second's pause. "Right over there," he replied, pointing, "And then he flew off in that direction."
