Standing suddenly, A'Hallei wiped the crumbs from his mouth and let his right guantlet slide off. He lightly dipped his finger in the jelly jar and crossed to Makenna. As his love let the note drop, A'Hallei reached up and lightly smeared the reddish jam across his love's lower lip.
Smiling devilishly, A'Hallei moved in and licked it away, moving in for a deep and searing morning kiss. He let his hands slide down so he could embrace his lover as they kissed. He'd miss Makenna today at the forge. He missed Makenna every day he was away, for his obsidian beauty occupied his thoughts often. When the kiss finally broke, he lightly nuzzled at Makenna's neck fondly.
Hell was prying himself away from Makenna's warm and inviting body.

Makenna smiled and wrapped his arms around A'Hallei, he was going to miss him too he always did. Running his fingers through his loves hair and licked his lips he could still taste the jelly, making a mental note to buy more of that jelly.
He wanted to stay like this nuzzled up to A'Hallei, away from the world and everything that could hurt him. using his free hand he played with the belts the held the cool metal on his snowy one, he liked the metal it was cool to the touch. And he liked that since he himself was awlays so warm.

A'Hallei gently disengaged from Makenna and slid his guantlet on again. He finished tying back his hair and waved to Makenna goodbye as he departed for work.
A'Hallei was gone for the entirety of the day, and did not return until nightfall had come already. There had been an accident at the forge, nothing major, just one of the ventilators overheated and shot soot all over all the workers. A'Hallei had detoured to wash up, but was still a dingy grey that would take a few more washings to come out completely.

Makenna had gone shoping and then came home to lay down. When he woke up it was nearly dark, noticeing the emptiness of the house he decided that he should start dinner, A'Hallei was later then he normally was.
Glancing out the window he sighed hoping nothing bad had happened after all he worked in the forge. Makenna not knowing when A'Hallei would be home desided just to make some sandwhiches, pulling out a can od salmon he made that up, knowing that his love like this fish. When he finished he wrapped up the sandwhiches put them in a cool place and went to lay down on the bed.
When A'Hallei arrived home Kenna was dozing on the bed above the blankets, looking at him you could see his ribs and yellowish bruises a few healing cuts but nothing new.

A'Hallei spotted the sleeping boy and went into stealth mode, his movements causing not even a whisper of sound. Like an apparition he brushed through the treehouse, cleaning up while Makenna slept. A'Hallei pulled off his stomach guard, gauntlets and boots, leaving only his pauldrons and chest plate on. While cleaning he discovered the plate of salmon sandwiches and nearly squealed with delight. One was immediately devoured and the rest put away.
From a corner, he pulled out two thin flat beams, and began to make the runners for a rocking chair, slowly and painstakingly pulling the two into identical arcs. A'Hallei had salvaged a slightly broken wooden chair from a local elementary school woodshop room and repaired it. Just for fun, and because he thought it might please Makenna, he decided to convert it into a rocking chair. Splaying the legs, he needed to drill little holes for them in the runners and attatch them, but drilling would be too noisy while Kenna was sleeping, so he just worked on shaping the runners.

Makenna rolled over onto his stomach hugging onto his pillow before blinking open sleep filled eyes. He could make out the shapes of things in the house but he was still to sleep to see them properly, rubbing his eyes he blinked and smiled.
Staying were he was he watched A'Hallei for a little while, before his eyes got heavy and closed again. He wasn't alseep but he wasn't awake anymore either. Snuggled into his pillow he listed to the sound of the forest as the day creatures went to sleep and the night creatures came alive.

A'Hallei turned to look at Makenna when the boy shifted and rolled over. Makenna blinked bleary eyes open, but didn't seem like he was ready to get up yet, so A'Hallei went right back to work. Before long, he'd set up the rig to keep the runners in the right shape, which they would need to sit that way for a few hours minimum to maintain the shape.
Leaving them to sit, A'Hallei pulled apart old tee shirts he'd bought from the salvation army for five bucks for the lot of them, pushing them into a pillowcase that he then swiftly sewed shut for a cushion for the rocking chair. Using thin strips to tie the cushion to the seat, A'Hallei decided it was time for a break. He laid down on the floor beside the bed for a few moments and let his own eyes close as he rested.

Smiling Makenna let his hand drop so he could play with a few strands of A'Hallei 's hair as he rested, he was gental so that he didn't pull on his loves hair as he rested.
Looking over the side he closed his eyes again as, he stroked the soft hair. He wasn't sure what his love was making but it looked like a chair, a nice chair. But then A'Hallei was very go when he worked with his hands.

A'Hallei laid there for several minutes before he reached up and caught Makenna's hand in the act, bringing it toward him and pressing a light kiss to the top of his second knuckle. He held the hand against his cheek for a moment more, enjoying the soft feel of Makenna's skin warm against his own.
Releasing his hand he sat up, stretching languidly. He grasped his hair which had fallen about all over the place and pulled it back to a more managed look. He walked to where the sandwiches were stashed and pulled out Makenna's. He held it up in Makenna's line of sight, and pointed to it, silently asking if the obsidian haired boy had eaten at all today, or if he'd like his sandwich.

Makenna smiled as the rested like that for a few mintues his hand rested on A'Hallei's cool skin, holding back a light sigh as the other got up and walked to wards the kitchen are, he smiled when he noticed that A'Hallei had found the sandwhiches.
" I ate earlier and lunch, but i'll split it with you." He said answering the question that he was asked and he had eaten, a apple and half a sandwhick at lunch and a sandwhich for dinner, not much but more then he had been eating.

"Already eaten." A'Hallei said quietly, setting the plate down. Makenna had eaten and slept today, A'Hallei was very pleased with him. He didn't doubt Makenna would, but he really did take the entire day off to just recouperate and heal. The weather was starting to warm as well, which would also be good for Makenna's health. A'Hallei didn't particularly favor it, it made wearing so many layers of clothes and armor hot and uncomfortable, and he loathed the way his armor felt when he was sweaty. It was slick and warm, rubbing around and bumping into each other irritatingly. So, during the hotter months he had to wear less, which while normal for others, made him very very vulnerable feeling.

Nodding Makenna streached out on the bed with a sigh. " You got home late tonight, did something happen at the forge?" He asked softly letting his eyes slip over the other boy to make sure that he was alright, he hadn't noticed the greyish tinge A'Hallei's hair had but he seemed to be okay.

( Few weeks later)
Makenna was bored school was boring and he didn't work anymore having been fired what could he do? Well he had planted some seed for tomoates but they didn't seem to be growing so he gave that up. Drawing didn't hold that much appel at the moment and one could only dance so often.
Sighing he went and started on what he'd make for dinner even though it was still early, being bored made you do things early, he even decided he could get a bit of a tan by laying on the roof.

A'Hallei and Makenna were drifting apart like tectonic plates. Slowly, but inevitably. Makenna had left the treehouse, A'Hallei stayed behind; Makenna met new friends and explored, A'Hallei stayed behind, Makenna learned to dance, A'Hallei remained inside his mind.
It was a miracle Makenna hadn't left him eons ago.
A'Hallei had taken the young teenager's affections for granted, never realizing just how much he missed him until he left one afternoon, and didn't come back. Well, that wasn't entirely true, Makenna came once when he was sleeping and left him a note. The dread was piling within the schitzophrenic youth like jenga blocks, and the one with the stripe down his side was the one tapping on the tower for a loose piece.
A'Hallei had fallen through the tubes since Makenna had left. He slept frequently, rarely ate, was often disheveled, and falling into longer and longer lapses of coherency. He was sliding rapidly. Long scores of talon marks marred the walls and the floors, bits of blood and strips of cloth clung tenatiously to the segments between planks of wood. At least though his rage was focused at inanimate objects so far.
For one improvement-- while A'Hallei was in his right mind, he thought much more clearly than ever before, and suddenly found an interest in education. The pale teen buried himself in books at the library, sucking information faster than a humpback whale sucked krill. Right now though, he was looking through the classified section of a newspaper he picked up on his way home, searching for a licenced contractor to get to work on the cabin he was going to have built. Uncharacteristically calm neon eyes scanned the print quickly, a pencil poised over some paper. Once he got some numbers he would run to the nearest payphone and start dialing.

Kenna took a deep breath today was the day he'd talk with A'Hallei. He stood at the bottom of the treehouse with his eyes closed, he loved the pale teen, but still wasn't sure if he was in love with him and then there was his twin, always lurking but never actually there.
Could he live with that again? Could he leave everyone else? He didn't know anymore his thoughts were all jumbled together with unanswered questions. Taking another deep breath he sighed. It's now or never Looking down at his attire he was glad he decided to wear a pair of jeans today.
One foot infront of the other Kenna started up the wooden ladder, it was familliar but not he wished now that he hadn't just left A'Hallei while he went around doing god no's what.
