Hearing the comment about the newspaper, Luke sat down. Letting his ears droop, his head drop, and his tail curl to the side, he began to whimper like a dog that had done something bad; however only a minute later his tail began wagging, and a rough, wheezy sound started coming from the wolfs throat. Luke was laughing! His head bobbed up and down slightly in merriment.
Unfortunately for Luke though, this merriment was to be short lived. In less then a minute fur turned to skin and hair, muzzle to mouth, and he became minus one tail. Now standing there was the blue haired lad known as Luke, laughing his a** off.
His laughter slowed rather quickly as a lock of his hair fell onto his face. Feeling the strand with his right hand, he opened his eyes and looked directly, going cross eyed because of its location. He then looked to Akido, and then the professor. "Ah crap..." He said, realizing that he'd just changed back. I really gotta learn some control, this keeps happening at the worst possible moments!

OOC: Sorry about the sudden disappearance. My band decided to go on a mini-tour without telling me first. So I had to book it to pack up the drums. So lets just pretend I was just wandering the halls this whole time, eh.
Marcus continued wandering the halls, most of the school memorized by this point. All the while, still listening to his MP3 player, the volume high enough that anyone that passed by could clearly hear the music. As he continued to aimlessly walk about, he passed by one classroom with a few people in it. He turned his head to look in the room as he passed the door way, quickly making note of the people in it. One he recognized, the blue haired kid that provided him the trail to the cafeteria. The teacher he had not seen before as well the girl sitting inside the room. He had not broken his stride as he continued on past the room when he stopped and took a few steps backwards, so as to be back in front of the door way. The reason he had backpedaled wasn't entirely known, but it had something to do with that new girl Akido. Something seemed odd about her, certainly he has never seen her before, but there was something. Marcus stood in the doorway for several moments turning it over in his head. Finally something clicked. The way she stood, her posture, it was all too familiar. The reason for it being so was that he was the same way. Maybe this was not noticeable to anyone else, but Marcus knew the look of someone disguising themselves. Putting on a mask, to hide who you really were. Certainly she wasn't disguised because she was severely disfigured with scars as Marcus was, but it was something. It was because of this, Marcus felt unnaturally drawn to her.

Watching the wolf her look was a mixture of indigence, and amusement, as the wolf tried to laugh and the sight was contagious until she saw him change back into a boy. Waiting for the laughter to stop as he realized what happened she crossed her arms, "You licked me!" she accused going for a disgusted tone but not quite making it past amusement as she smiled before glancing at Logan half jokingly, " I liked him better as a wolf I say we should get to dissect this one ne-" Her gaze fell past the blue haired were to the man who had passed the door twice now, and was looking at her. She had chosen this appearance because it tended to make people look the other way and that wasn't working here. She hoped to the gods it was just the new girl novelty effect. Her smile faltered for a split second before she called out to him, "Did you need to speak with Professor Logan?" That was a nice compromise. Let her use titles as her people did but she had already forgotten his last name. Looking to the man in the door she took in his appearance as she would any other man.

Marcus still had his MP3 quite loud, so he heard not a word from the strange new girl, however he wasn't half bad at reading lips and he got the gist of what she said. He plucked out one of his earphones, the loud music even more clear now to others, and responded as he entered the room "No, I don't, thanks." Marcus walked up to her and studied her a bit more before adding "So your new here huh? So am I. Names Marcus, you can call me Echo." Though he kept a nearly emotionless look on his face, rather then give a cheesy smile as most would when introducing themselves, his tone was much more gentle then anyone else around here has certainly heard from him.

She watched him approach briefly glancing at the others wondering if he was a friend of the boy or the professor. Able to hear the music more clearly she smiled, it was a good song. As he introduced him self she inclined her head politely, "Mine's Akido. Nothing special for me." Though she personally thought Marcus suited him better it was his choice what he wanted his name to be not hers to choose for him. The humor from dealing with being tackled by a large animal had left her features, "The Professor was showing me the lab care to join us?" she said lightly indicating it with one hand before realizing she still held the bone from one of his arms and she grinned sheepishly looking to him, "Would you like this back?" she asked with a smile.

As she spoke Marcus continued to silently study her, then spoke when appropriate, "Nice meeting you Akido". Marcus thought to himself after he spoke, Nice to meet you? What the hell was that, Christ... Akido's question took Marcus by surprise, he had only planned to wander the rest of the campus then head to the gym he spotted earlier. After a quick discussion in his head he decided this would be a chance to get to know her a bit, so he might as well stay. "Uhh... sure." he responded, "But I won't lie, I'll probably have no idea what I'm doing. Science stuff was never my thing..."

Logan felt himself press his back against the desk as Luke made his sudden appearance. He shook his head lightly at the boy's antics. The school definitely did not specialize on the ordinary, everyday students. "You know, I can't help but find it odd that you were just chewing on a bone that, as of five minutes ago, belonged in my arm," he said to Luke, raising an eyebrow. He then turned his attention back to Akido, shifting his eyes back down to the bone in her hand. He lifted up both his arms, his right now fully healed and back to normal. The bone had been replaced fully. "No, no, I'm good. I can replace my own bones quite easily, so I have no need for them once they've left my body," he explained, giving her a slight smile. "And to answer your previous question, yes I can. I can manipulate any amount of bone mass in any creature, I only need to touch them. However, my abilities are slightly limited when it comes to other creatures. It is much easier for me and takes much less energy to manipulate bones that I am touching directly, without a layer of skin or whatnot between. That is why doing it for my own is easier for me." He glanced over at the new students who had entered his room as well. His eyes moved slowly to the ear buds that had music blaring on them. 'The boy's going to ruin his hearing...' he thought to himself, but kept from saying anything. He found that most kids, teenagers or younger, didn't like to be lectured. Especially by teacher-like figures. So instead, he smiled welcomingly to him. "My, my classroom seems to be a subject of much interest today," he said with a small chuckle. He slowly looked back to Akido with the same smile still on his face. "You can keep that, if you want. Call it a souvenir of your first day here," he said with a wink.

Akido smiled that she could keep it and was happy that so many of the people she had met thus far were polite and well mannered. Looking at his arm there seemed to be no misconfiguration, or abnormal lumps, "Amazing. Most people with regenerative powers fail to do it so perfectly the last I saw was not as fortunate." Looking to Marcus, "That's all right. It's not class and I wouldn't be so rude as to start experiments when I believe he was just leaving before I arrived. " Quite enjoying herself, Akido hadn't had this much fun since she had taken to hospital work a few years back but she had been under a different appearance then and was posing to look older. Examine the bone in her hands she slid to sit on one of the desks as she looked it over, except for the bite marks there were none of the small imperfections that you normally find in bone. Turning it a bit she ran her thumb over a few of the marks but once her hand was moved they had been wiped away like a stain though she hadn't quite meant to. Suppressing powers that wanted to range free was difficult but it helped with what she was doing. Akido opened her mouth to ask him something but changed her mind after a second remarking instead, "Many bones show vitamin or calcium deficiency these days but not this one? Is it safe to presume that you are immune to all types of bone diseases?"

Marcus saw how the teacher looked at him and his headphones, he knew the look. The look all the old people gave him when he passed by listening to his music as loud as he does. The look says `turn that crap down` or some variation of that. With a sigh, Marcus plucked out the remaining earphone and turned the MP3 off and stuffed it into his pocket. Marcus moved over where Akido sat and looked down at the bone. He had no idea what bone he was looking at, it could have come from a dinosaur or a cat and he wouldn't know any different. Marcus was really only knowledgeable when it came to cars and bits of other metal work. Marcus carefully watched Akido's eyes which were intently examining the bone.

Logan leaned casually back onto his desk, placing one hand on it as he seemed to think about Akido's question. "I'm not sure if I'd say immune. But as far as I know, yes," he answered after a moment of reflection. "If anything comes about, I can do one of two things: I can pop the bone out, like I did just now and completely regenerate it. Or I can just heal it. I have graced with the power of healing as well. It's very useful since making bones come out your skin tends to leave rather large wounds." He began to drum his fingers lightly against the edge of his desk. He always enjoyed it when students took an interest in either his job or his abilities. He liked explaining things that he knew about. That was why he had become a teacher. "That, and I am fairly healthy. I eat healthy foods, save the occasion every now and then when I'll eat 'junk food'. There's a gym in the school that I use every now and then." He continued. "If I weren't in at least relatively good health, I'm afraid my 'powers', as it were, may not work quite as well. I find that, when I'm sick, my strength for both manipulating bones and healing is not quite up to par. Of course, that could be also that I'm tired, but I'd rather not risk it."

Akido was listening but she also felt the weight of Marcus' gaze watching her. She could see her hands so she knew the glamour was working but it made her curious as to why he was there. He admitted knowing little about biology but he stayed. Hearing Logan, "I'd say that's fair. I don't think many would like to be half way through trying to force out or regenerate a body part then have their powers say 'I quit'" Holding the bone she suddenly looked up and smile she was glad someone was willing to hang out while she talked bio that would bore most people half to death, "A regenerative person who eats well. That would be a first I've heard. Even those who have power only in the way of money tend to abuse it. I can't say I blame you though. If I eat is has to be good food. Anything processed or man made generally makes me sick." Folding her legs up to sit indian style on the desk she turned the bone in her hand, "If you can regenerate and manipulate bone then would it be safe to say that it's possible to change your form completely." Smiling lopsidedly, "Not saying that it would be fun but just possible?" It was as close to her true question as she was willing to ask. As far as she knew her power was irreversible but if someone could fix the damage she could cause, it would be nice to know. Then again mutant magic was different from fae magic. Looking to Echo with an apologetic smile, "I'm sorry we're boring you to death aren't we?"

Marcus opened his mouth to reply to Akido, when a sharp pain in Marcus's mouth stopped him. His hand clasped his right cheek and he winced in pain. To anyone else it would look like nothing more then a toothache, but in reality, a screw in Marcus's mouth was causing him great discomfort. Marcus had various metal plates and devices throughout his body. Most of which were surgically placed to reconstruct his bones, but there were a few that Marcus had put in himself. The reason for this was that Marcus found the surgically planted metal plates amplified his talent, so, he built devices that would do the same thing. There were several in his chest, one in his throat and a long one down his spine. All of which would be visible if it were not for the illusion he's set up. Marcus could clearly feel where the pain was originating and to relieve it, he would need to take out the faulty screw. He looked over to Logan, still wincing "Would you happen to have a flat head screw driver around..."

Logan considered her question. Could he change his form entirely? He couldn't say he hadn't tried before, but he wasn't sure he would want to any time soon. "It may be possible. As long as the bones are rounded off and not sharp, I can move them about from inside of my skin. But I'm limited to how far my skin can stretch. And, trust me, I've tested those limits personally," he began to explain. "But you have to understand...I still have nerves. If I make my bones grow larger and push against my skin, it causes me pain. I've gotten better at ignoring it throughout the years, but it's still there." He nodded his head slowly after he finished explaining. Truthfully, it pained him every time he pushed a bone out of his skin. It hurt just about as much as it would for any normal person to puncture their skin all the way to the bone. And, to make things worse, the bone rubbed against the raw skin, muscles, and nerves as it came out. He had grown good at hiding his pain from his students anytime he used a bone for an example, and he had gotten better at ignoring it, but pain that intense was hard to ignore at times. His attention was then turned to Marcus as he moved suddenly. He cocked his head slightly to the side as he was about to ask what was wrong. Marcus spoke before he was able to say anything, however. "I....may," Logan responded. "Why do you ask?" As he spoke, he had pushed himself away from the desk and was heading over to the lab area. There was a door just to the side of his desk that bordered the normal classroom and the lab which was were he seemed to be headed.

"Hard to explain" He said quickly as he lolled his head back and let his jaw drop a bit. "Just would you mind getting me one" he added a bit agitated. The pain had dulled a bit but was still very much present.
