At that moment yells of pain could be heard throughout the citadel. Leon dropped to the floor but despite the pain refused to go on one knee like he had done earlier when he was Sparda's underling. "You seem to be stooping rather low for such an easy task as destroying some underling vampires. Have you gotten weak?!" Leon said holding back the pain.

Sparda laughed, "Hahaha no I just like too see traitors suffer." Sparda stopped and his wound healed. "Now I'm wondering why would you come here if you knew you can't kill me. Are you hoping for a quick death, because you will have a slow and painful death." "Kanna whose side do you chose me who gave you vengence and offered to give you my power or the traitor's who wants to stop us from saving the vampire race from extinction." Sparda looked at her while his shadow arms attacked Leon and the vampires. "I won't harm your brother, just the cowards who rebel against me." The vampire army heard the fighting and burst in circling Leon and the other rebel vampires. They were ready to die for the Sparda's cause, Sparda looked at them, "Leave them it is my fight."

Kai, who hadn't tasted Sparda's blood, also cried out in pain. He clutched where his heart was and gasped.
Kanna snapped out of her confusion. "KAI! Kai, Hold on." She said puting her arms around him to help him up. "Sparda! Stop." She said. When Sparda offered her the choice, she hesitated and looked at Kai.
Kai glared at Sparda. "Don't be decieved Kanna. He is only using you. All those sweet words mean nothing." He said as he straitened.
Kanna thought for a few moments.
"Kanna, I won't fight you. If you decide to join Sparda, I can't stop you. But I probably won't be around anymore." He added not looking at her.

Leon began laughing. "It would be pointless to come here with no hope of defeating you, I know that. So I came here with something able to defeat you." Leon said smiling as he took out his own trusty sword. "And you were so sure it was either destroyed or in the hands of the order when really it was right under your nose. I had planned to kill you and take the throne long before I met those two." Leon said motioning to Kanna and Kai and laughing again.

Sparda looked at him and smiled, "There is always fools who fall for such lies and you have been lured out of hiding, yes there is a sword that can kill me but the main piece lies in me still broke off from my first defeat. I don't think you have a uncompleted sword do you? hahaha well If you think you can kill me I will have to accept your ridiculous challenge." Sparda looked at Kanna finally being serious, "Why would I give you my blood and offer you the throne if I wanted to trick you. I offer you my power, the power to destroy anyone even..... me." Sparda looked back at Leon, "Answer my one question what makes you think that even if you could kill me take my throne? The ancient vampires whose power surpasses all of you here would easily kill you and take the throne for yourselves."

Kanna was torn between the power she desired to protect her friends, and her brother who would walk away from her if she went with Sparda.
Kai could see she was confused. "Kanna,please. Lets leave." Kai said.
Kanna looked from Kai to Sparda. Sparda's words seemed true enough.

Suddenly fighting erupted outside, The Holy Order had the Western Kingdoms all join together into a crusade against Sparda. A man walked up to the front steps while crusaders ambushed the vampire army. The man walked up to the vampires. Sparda looked at him puzzled, "You are truly brave or stupid to walk up to us, what is your name?" The Man pulled out a sword and said, "My name is unimportant I am the Reaper of the West! DIE VAMPIRE!" The Man stabbed Sparda right into the heart and pulled out a musket and fired at Sparda." Sparda looked at the sword sticking in him and pulled it out. "Pathetic."

Kanna saw the man stab Sparda. Immediately she felt enraged, but she didn't know why. She got in her fighting stance and got ready.

Sparda pushed the human aside, "Someone deal with him, Leon come and try to kill me."

Kanna circled the human. She glared at him.
Kai saw this and grabbed Kanna's arm. "Kanna. Calm down. You never used to fight like this. You have never hurt a human." He said to her.
Kanna's eyes turned dark again. Once she heard Kai, she snapped out of it. "I'm sorry Kai." She said. It wasn't for that, she was saying sorry for something else. She pulled away from his grasp. She lunged at the human and sank her teeth into his neck. That was the first time she had tasted human blood. She and Kai used to drink animal blood. This tasted different.....Delicious.

Sparda suddenly grew batwings and his arms became shadow arms he floated in the air and instantly ripped apart the two vampires who were with Leon.

Kanna had unknowingly drained the human of all his blood. When she realized that she was horrified at herself. She looked at her bloody hands. "W-What have I done...." She looked at the corps at her feet.
Kai stood in shock. Kanna had drained the human completely in a few seconds. He slowly started to walk towards her and the corps.

Sparda noticed that his chest started to glow red and the broken piece to the holy blade flew out and on to the floor. Sparda was amazed the blade had become in tune with Sparda and developed a power of its own. Sparda looked at the broken piece he could not touch it.

Kanna was still in shock.
Kai saw the blade fall from Sparda. He looked at it, then at Sparda. He stood up and walked over to the blade.

Sparda remembered his promise he would not harm Kai. "Stay away from the blade." Sparda threw his shadow arms in the way so they would block Kai from the blade.
