"That's a little hard for me. He's in my group..." Sosuke muttered, wondering if Satomi would ever forgive the vampire. Right now, Satomi seemed like a fragile flower; if you poked it too much, it'd fall apart. Sosuke certainly didn't want to make Satomi even more unhappy than she was now. "Well then, let's go to..." Sosuke, in his mind racked up the places they could go, before they went back to the hotel. The best place to go right now, would probably be a little more relaxing, so no busy places. "Let's go to the Otawa waterfall, okay?" Sosuke asked, although it was more of an order.

((Last post for the night. xNutmeg needs some food in her. Anyway, I had a good time role-playing today. ^^ Toodles~))

Hard or not, he would have to deal with it. Satomi wasn't angry with Driviline for what he said at the springs, honestly, that was just water under the bridge. But it was Driviline as a person in general; she was... afraid of him. She was beginning to see signs that the Dean was right, and maybe Sosuke didn't see it, but Satomi could clearly see that there was something darker about Driviline, like all those nice things he had said and done... it was all a diguise, and she hated liars...

At Sosuke's offer though, she didn't dissagree with him, Otawa waterfall sounded okay, but she still questioned him, not really seeming very enthuisiastic about the offer. "Why are you doing all of this...?" She finally asked, still sounding very distant and unlike herself as she couldn't even look him in the eye, her gaze shifted to the side and her hands nervously folded in front of her. She seemed like a different person in general, it was almost unsetteling...

((Er, okay, this one will be the last one tonight.))

Sosuke raised an eyebrow, and smiled. "Why? Why do you fix my hand when it breaks?" Sosuke asked, smiling. "Why do you help Xenon-san when somethings wrong? You do it because you care, don't you? I care about you, as a friend." Sosuke explained. It was just human nature. When someone you care is not themselves, don't you want to help them? Sosuke didn't consider being friends with Satomi a job. It was a joy to be friends with Satomi and Driviline. They'd done so much for him, wasn't it right to help them when they needed it?

((See you same time tomorrow. ^_^ ))

She understood the point he was trying to make, but she had always felt like a bit of an exception to the statement he made. He may have been right somewhat; she always went out of her way to help other people even more than most of her classmates would have. But he didn't see the reasoning for that. She may have done it because she cared and it was human nature, but there was just more too it...

"I told you already Sosuke-kun, I don't deserve this, I'm not worth the effort." She said with that same, dull tone she had since they got here, the pained expression returning to her olive green eyes as she found herself still unable to look at him. She felt like she didn't need to explain herself any further, it was how she always had viewed herself; even if she never showed it. People always saw Satomi for being such a cheerful teenager, always locked away in her studies and research, constantly working on her next greatest creation, but lacking any sort of social skills. Heck, she had even proclaimed she had 'sold her soul to science', and people even considered her to be slightly mad and insane. But no one ever really tried to figure out just why, or maybe try to look past that layer and look deeper to who she really was.

And so, as Sosuke continued to try and dig past that, he was finding that the side of her she kept sheltered away from everyone else was a lot more fragile than her bubbly, optimistic self she had tended to give off. He was prying her open to see that, in the end, she really was nothing but a self doubting Junior High-school girl who looked down upon herself.

"Self-doubt can restrict you from doing so many things in life." Sosuke let out a long sigh. Was this really who Satomi was? In a way, it was so unreal, as if it were a dream. "You don't think that you deserve all of this, but I think you do. You work hard. You help other people. Tell me why you don't think that you deserve this. You have done nothing wrong to anyone that would make you not deserve all of this." Sosuke's voice had a tinge of frustration in it. Why couldn't Satomi see that she deserved all of this? Why couldn't she be selfish for once, and embrace this. Why was she so full of self-doubt?

"You think I don't know that?" Satomi replied with a sharper tongue this time, sounding a little upset and slightly angry with Sosuke for talking to her like she was just some sort of child. Or at least, even if he didn't see it that way, she did; she felt like he was mocking her in a way, even now trying to help her in some way despite the fact that she told him that she did not deserve it.

But he still kept trying... she was glad to know he cared about her so much, but she didn't like it how he wouldn't just give up, he couldn't just let it be and stop trying to shower her with these kind offerings. "You're wrong... I've done so many things wrong, I shouldn't even be allowed to be standing here right now."

"So what? Even if that's true, even if you've done so many things wrong, it doesn't matter!" Sosuke nearly yelled. "You're human. Nobody's perfect, and no one can live their live without doing something wrong. Maybe you don't deserve a fancy dinner. Maybe not!" Sosuke stayed silent for about thirty seconds, before walking to the bench, sitting down, and putting his head in his hands. "What do you want-, no, what do you need, Satomi-chan?" Sosuke asked. "What do you think that you deserve?"
PostPosted: Thu Sep 18, 2008 3:43 pm

Satomi flinched and shifted back a bit when she heard Sosuke almost yelling. It was the first time she heard him raise his voice in such a manner, and he had nearly scared her from the sudden outburst. It had grabbed her attention though, and she was looking up at him as she reached back into her kimono to remove her glasses, her hands visibly shaking just a bit as she did. But, with a slow breath, after Sosuke was silent, she too found herself incapable of words until finally he spoke again, his tone, calmer now as it sounded like he was actually giving up on the situation with this final attempt.

"I think you know already how I would answer that... Sosuke-kun." She said slowly with a shallow breath, hinting that she was still quite adamant with her decision, not changing it despite how Sosuke was doing all he could to get through to her. But finally, she slowly put her glasses in, and got to her feet, her movements rigid and stiff, like she was a bit more concentrated on something as simple as moving; but she was doing this to stop herself from her nervous shaking she had. "Let's go to the waterfall like you said..." She said it with such a lack of enthuisiasm, her words still empty and her behavior remaining uncertain, but the least she could do was stop the pain she was putting Sosuke through and accept this, even if the only smile she could give was a pained one and she would have to fake her happiness the whole time.

"No." Sosuke said, standing up, and looking at Satomi with a sad look. "It wouldn't be right for me to take you around to places, when you don't want to. I don't want you to fake anything, not a smile." Sosuke said gruffly, taking Satomi's hand and gently prying it open, putting down something in her hand.

It was the trinket Sosuke had bought for her at Cinema Village. It was a keychain, and at the end was a little plastic machine, similar to R2-D2 from Star Wars, only this one was a pale yellow. There was a button at the bottom, where if you pressed it, the screen/eyes would blink a message.

"It's best if you don't go anyway. We'll probably just get into another argument, and it will start all over. Besides, this conversation is probably making you uncomfortable." Sosuke said, turning to leave. "That keychain is for you. Throw it away, give it away, it doesn't matter. I..I think I have to be alone for now..."

Even though the gift he had handed to her was small, and was more of just a little gesture than getting her something grand like most girls would desire; it was enough. It was... cute, a little silly, but enough to make her stifle out a soft little chuckle from her, the smallest of smiles returning to her lips as it had not been forced or faked in any way this time, but genuine like she was back to herself again. Or maybe, back to the way people knew her for, whether this was really herself, or the side Sosuke just saw was, it was hard to tell. But at least now, she had met the crossroads between the two sides Sosuke had seen, and she was slowly regaining just a little bit of her optimism.

"Thank you.." She said slowly, her voice almost a whisper before she looked up at, just now noticing that he was going to leave as he was now the one seeming to slip a little and losing his confidence. She didn't want to end the night on such a sour note, Sosuke had seen a side of her she regretted bringing out, and she would rather not have him remember this evening like this. "Wait.. you've got it all wrong, Sosuke-kun." She didn't raise her voice, but it was so silent tonight that even as he was turned away and about to leave, he should have been able to hear her.

Sosuke turned around, genuinely confused. She didn't seem like she wanted to go anywhere before, so why had she stopped him? Did she want to be alone, and not be doing something that she wasn't up to? "What do you mean?" Sosuke asked, turning completely around, so that none of his body was twisted. She said it so silently, that Sosuke probably wouldn't have heard her if he was a heavy walker. Luckily for Satomi, he wasn't. He made eye contact with Satomi as soon as he turned around, a look of concern in his eye.

She looked at him, still just barely linginering on to that tiny little smile of hers as she noticed he stopped and turned to face him. She hated this moment, the tention, the sadness, the confusion, even she wasn't sure what to say, but she suddenly began to feel her heart flutter a bit, and it left her breathless. There was a long silence while the two looked at eachother from a distance, one of them perplexed, the other afraid, but the two of them both uncertain. But finally, she swallowed her pride and told herself to just say it, unable to bare this painful silence between them.

"I want to stay with you tonight. I.. I don't want it to end like this and I... want to make up for my behavior... I'm sorry." She still sounded quite depressed, but there was a sincerity in her voice that was yearing to fix this. She couldn't hide this side of her anymore now that Sosuke had seen it, but she couldn't bare the thought of having Sosuke look down upon her or get upset because of her.

It was silent for a few minutes, before Sosuke crossed the distance between them, and smiled gently at Satomi. "I'm sorry too. I made you feel uncomfortable, didn't I? I...I too, want to stay with you tonight. I just wasn't sure if you'd be happy staying with me." Sosuke admitted, breaking eye contact with Satomi. "Can you forgive me?" Sosuke asked, holding out his mechanical hand in an indication for Satomi to take his hand, if she did forgive him.

There was still something though that made her not feel right about it. It wasn't like they were going out on a date or anything; they were just two friends who needed some company. But that aside, there remained this little place in her chest that felt like it was breaking apart for some reason, like something bad would happen in the future because of this. She knew that she was just being paranoid, and yet something told her there was more to it than that...

"Y-Yea... it's okay." She said hesitantly, not expecting Sosuke to apologize to her when she was the one who had done something wrong. Still, she took hold of his hand, and nodded slowly, assuring not only him, but herself that this was okay. They could go somewhere, let there pains melt away a little, and just take it easy tonight, and they both needed it after all. Still, as she held his hand, clenching it very loosely; barely by the fingertips, she too had trouble making eye contact with him before she said her own apology, feeling that his was unnecessary. "I'm sorry too... for having you see this... this side of me."

"If I didn't see this side of you, Satomi-chan, I wouldn't know who you are as a whole." Sosuke pointed out, taking her hand gently, and pulling her along a little. "But enough of these 'sorry' words. Let's go the waterfall, maybe get some dinner on the way...we both haven't eaten dinner yet, have we?" Sosuke asked, chuckling a little as he let go of her hand. Tomorrow would be another day. But, for tonight, Sosuke would try to have some enjoyment in the night, especially since the night so far wasn't too great. Tomorrow, he had to take the group to the Kiyomizu Stage, as he had promised Driviline that they'd go.

((Last post for tonight. I won't be on tomorrow, so feel free to puppet Sosuke to the Otawa Waterfalls if needed.))
