Pyralis chuckled in his warm-hearted way and touched the tip of her nose with the tip of his finger. "My darling, Anna, what ever will I do with you." Letting his hand casually drop, it found his love's and held on. The dragon had no problem with the cold and could have even done without the coat he had worn here.
Still chuckling to himself, Pyralis ordered for both of them, knowing what his love wanted and that the staff knew well-enough by now to put extra on his plate.
"Have you ever been to the top of a mountain, my darling Anna?"

His touch spread warmth throughout her nose and cheeks, mostly from his magic warmth and mostly from her little blush. "I do believe you must keep me close, so the winter does not steal me away." And instead of sitting opposite him, Anna sat right at his side. She needed his comforting, cozy heat after all that had happened, but mostly she needed his touch to keep her in the world at present.
While he ordered, Anna reached into her purse to touch a book. She hadn't read a single bound book all day, though it didn't surprise her. An addled mind such as hers seldom found solace by settling down in pages.
His question brought her back to their dinner. "Why, yes! I have. It was for a dig, actually. We found nothing other than pots and a few old tools... no treasures." Anna loved her books dearly, but like Pyralis, she enjoyed a good glittering of gold or jewels from the dirt. "Actually, that was the site in which we had to crawl out of the ventilation shaft. I told you that tale after we went flying."
Anna bumped her head softly upon his shoulder with those fond memories going through her mind. Through their link, there was simply no stopping that wonderful warmth and excitement she had felt from pouring in.

Pyralis nodded, remembering her tale. "It is a pity you found no treasures, my A'mael. Though I doubt you'd ever find a true treasure, they'd just pale in comparison to the one I already have." Smiling, his mind enveloped hers in warmth, conveying just who that treasure was.
"There is a certain group of mountains I would like to take you to." He sighed and rested his head on top of her for just a moment. This was complete happiness for him, as long as he had her. "When we have time, of course, and when you are ready to hear a tale...a history of a kind." Anna was a curious creature by nature, but he held the destination and it's meaning from her mind. This was one place that would have to be a supprise; he had even had to receive Arondis's approval first, but she had easily granted it. This was his A'mael.
The food arrived and Pyralis sat back up, cutting into the steak first. "Would you like that?"

Anna was sorely tempted to roll her eyes at his compliment, though not because she thought it was ridiculous in regards to herself; she was instead wondering how he could overlook himself. His red eyes were like garnet but more brilliant with life, while his hair was not quite the color of silver. Anna thought it was almost like moonlight. But, regardless with what he could be compared to, Anna felt his warmth and for a moment could think of nothing else.
At the sound of a mountain range with history, Anna immediately began searching his thoughts for some kind of image, but found he was far too skilled in keeping it from her. Well then, she thought. This must be a surprise in itself.
"I would love to go at this very moment, but I am so preoccupied..." she said gently before eating a strawberry. He knew as much as she did that it would take time for Anna to come to terms with Verdi's passing, but they had all the time in the world. "When we do have time, though. Perhaps during the summertime here, because I would love to see whatever you have to show me."
Anna would go see unexciting caves with Pyralis for all she cared. All that Anna truly wanted was an adventure for just the two of them where they could show each other their homelands, see old friends, and get into all sorts of trouble...
Thinking of this, she sighed. The happiness would have to wait while the Grove was being taken care of. Verdi's death persisted in coloring her thoughts darkly, it seemed, no matter where she went. "Pyralis... if this was just the beginning," she began, but somehow couldn't find the right words to express what she wanted to. And what did she want to say? The entire situation was so dire that it was unpredictable and deadly. Only one thing was certain in her mind.
I love you dearly, Pyralis.

A smile touched his lips as she searched his mind. He knew she wanted to know, but it would mean more for her to be supprised this time. "It must wait, of course, my dear Anna." Even now, the first steak was gone. It was a mystery how he could eat so much and still appear a proper gentleman as he ate. He noticed how little his love was actually taking in herself.
Pyralis sensed all the worry still held inside her petite frame. It pained him to know how worried she was and the he couldn't just erase it. If only, but there were some matters a sword would never fix. Instead, he set his silverware aside and wrapped his arms around her. I love you as well, Anna. You are the only treasure that matters in my life. There wasn't a relic or piece of the past of his that this man wouldn't give for the woman in his arms. "All will be well with Grove. No matter what happens, we'll see that it always stands strong." A beacon of hope for peace between immortals and mortals alike.

"I know we all will to see to that," she whispered in his arms. Anna knew that when Pyralis called her a treasure, it meant something entirely different having come from a dragon. And for him to say that she was the only one that mattered was the highest honor she could be payed. For her, the compliment could be returned concerning her own love.
You are the greatest part of my own story. You are my fairy tale. Well, the way they were supposed to be written. She laughed inwardly at all the fanciful tales of knights fighting dragons and the fair maiden not lifting a finger to her own cause. Anna was not like that, and while Pyralis may have bitten off a hand or face or two, she knew he would instead be her savior and not her captor.
Anna pulled back from the embrace after a few warm, wonderful minutes (but not before putting a little kiss upon his cheek). It had been just what she had needed to set her stomach to rights, though her mind was still troubled. That, and her waffles were getting cold and a bit soggy with strawberry juice.
"You know," she said, giving him a sidelong glance, "I've always wondered... do you overheat in the summer? Or do you love it even more because the air is just like you?" Really, Anna just wanted to turn the conversation away from sadness, but it was something she'd been wondering.
Anna ate a good chunk of her waffle before turning to him with truly curious eyes. "And do you ever wish that I were born a dragon?"

Pyralis was flattered by her statement of love for him. He did have to chuckle at her correction for fairy tale stories. Indeed, he should be the vicous villian that the knight slays; but his A'mael, his dear Anna, had altered her visions of fairy tales just for him. Anna was also far from being a damsel in distress, no matter how much Pyralis's behavior would term her to be a porcelin doll. His laughter did not diminish what her words meant to him, for he still felt them course through him with their own warmth.
Anna's first question was easy to answer and warranted another chuckle from Pyralis. "Summer is perfectly fine. As a dragon, normally my scales block out the heat, just as they block out the cold in winter. The only danger would be if I dressed in too many layers as a human. I could potentially overheat in this form." He smiled. "Don't worry, I have plenty of lightweight summer clothes."
Now for her second question. That was a bit more difficult to put into words. He had never wished or even though of Anna as a dragon. However, she did bring it up, so it required some thought on the matter. His gem-like eyes look his love up and down once, appraising her beauty that surpassed everyone and everything in the room.
Her soft morning dove hair and eyes. Those eyes that looked into his very soul everytime they met his. The soft, delicate features of her face that made the cutest expressions and her slender elvin frame. For just a moment, he tried to picture her as a dragon with the hard, gem-like eyes and the gleaming scales. There were also the teeth to think about, sharper than any sword, and the claws to match...
No! His mind veered sharply away from the image. Not his Anna, never. Reaching up and caressing her soft cheek, his voice came out low, full of need and passion. "No, never do I wish that. My love you are everything I have ever imagined and so much more." He let his hand drop and his eyes met hers for a brief moment. Then he turned and took a long drink from his glass of water. He set it down slowly. "And you? Do you ever wish I was an elf? Or even simply not a draon?" A beast.

Anna carefully returned his gaze as he mulled over his answer. She loved his eyes; they always made her feel wonderfully uneasy and safe all at once... And then he said no, that he would not change her.
It only took a moment's thought for her to come to her own answer on him. If Pyralis was not a dragon, then they never would have gone flying. They never would have shared that view, the warmth, the freedom. No, she thought, and her voice came out just as breathless and just a bit desperate as that thought. Perhaps it was the solemn way he had thought the word "beast" that spurred her on so.
"No, I would never want you to be anything else than you." Anna's hand reached out to his face as his did to hers, and traced the markings upon it. Thank goodness for the privacy of their booth away from most prying eyes. "You are so magnificent, Pyralis. I'll admit, when I first saw you as a dragon, you took my breath right away. I was frightened, but... goodness, I love flying with you, and your brilliant eyes. The way you're always warm, the little growls you give when you're happy."
The last bit made her laugh softly to herself and blush, but she was being honest, after all. "I love all of you, and would never have you become some High Elf's son for the world."

Just at this moment, he was the very grateful for the privacy they were provided. Pyralis gently cupped her chin and pulled her face to his, their lips meeting. He kissed her, deeping the kiss without another thought. Deep growls rumbled in the back of his throat.
He pulled away much too soon for them both, but they had come to cool off rather to start a fire. Taking a few steady breathes, Pyralis chuckled. "We really need to eat or we'll have to order all over again."

Anna was still hanging in the air a bit as he chuckled. Curse them being in a public area. Even if she had already established how far they'd go, she wanted him close. "I suppose so," she said with a mock sad sigh. Taking up her fork again, Anna ate another bite. Try as she might to look serious, though. she couldn't help but begin giggling to herself like a young school girl. It soon turned into her bright laughter, and all because she could not believe the luck she'd found herself in for having found Pyralis.
"Sorry," she finally managed. "You just make me happy..." It was then that Anna had a thought. Could we sleep in your room tonight? She thought for privacy. To feel safe in the dragon's den.

Pyralis smiled at her. "You have a wonderful laugh, one to be shared." Then in her mind he added. The dragon's den is the safest place for you, my dear Anna. His words were very true. Even slumbering, there wasn't a soul that would get out of Pyralis's room alive should they go after his A'mael. To hold you through the night would bring the restful sleep we both lack. Both still looked rather tired, no matter how they tried to appear to others. It worked for the most part, but for their sensitive eyes, it was easy to see the fatigue of both.

"Thank you..." Anna did her best to finish her meal quickly but without giving herself a stomach ache. Soon enough, the meal was indeed finished, and her eyes were drooping with want of sleep and a warm bed. Anna was content for the most part, and now just needed hours of good slumber.
She stood from the booth, and began pulling on her coat and purse for the chilly walk back to their little home away from home. "Ready dearest?" Anna asked, holding out her hand to his.

Pyralis's plate was clear in no time as well. He stood, preparing for the walk home as well. "I am, my love." He paid for their meal, and then lead Anna to the door like a true gentleman. However, once they were outside, Anna was given a warning of only a mischevious grin from her love before he swept her up into his warm arms and started walking down the streets.

Ella gestured to the Inn and smiled. " Here we are. Not even busy either." She grinned at him and they went inside. " We've got our pick of the tables. Where do you feel like sitting, mate?" She asked with a smile.

"Ladies must choose. I've nothing wrong with wherever we sit." Sam was too calm about trivial things like that, even if sometimes they did matter. "We could sit over on the left side so you could make eyes at the guy who's with his girlfriend." A couple was enjoying a light-hearted dinner, and things looked fun but nervous.
