I actually like this one shot a deviant made. Some things could be changed. But the ending I liked it. 3nodding LinkThe ending was a piece of junk, but I still want Aang dead. He was cute at first, but now he annoys me. Besides, he might be able to live forever for all we know. Avatar Kyoshi has been PHYSICALLY dead for over 200 years, and even she appears every now and then.

Mai/Zuko isn't dark and intriguing, it was boring and weird. Mai seemed to like Zuko but I don't think she understood him. She seemed to have an eternal crush on the boy he was, not the man he grew up to be. It is clear in some episodes when he is lost in thought or unsure, like she doesn't recognize him, doesn't know what to do. Like he isn't being himself when he is just being Zuko.

Yeah, I never really understood why Maiko even exists. If it isn't worth puting the whole plot line into the show, it's not worth mentioning at all.

I've been having a discussion on dA about this very topic. The other person saying "Mai was compassionate to Zuko", and I'm all like "when? That time she told him to STFU cause she didn't want to hear his life story?".
Good times.

Good times. I have nothing against Mai, I just think she is too apathetic to help rule a nation that needs a compassionate and caring person.

The spoilers are still really bumming me out, Maiko just seems shallow to me, and I know that Mai really cares for Zuko but she does not want to listen to what he is feeling on the inside. I just cannot see Zuko ever being that happy with Mai she just does not understand him and his goals in life. I love Mai and I love Zuko but as a couple, they lose what I love about them.

don't hate me for what i am about to say:
honestly, i think i could see maiko more than i can see kataang. mostly it comes down to age for me. i think mai and zuko feel something for each other, even if its not a deep connection. and i also think mai expresses herself the best way she can. its not unrequited love, like kataang.
so if the show ends with maiko, i think i would be annoyed, but accept it. sure, its not awesomely epic, but to me it works better (than kataang)
gah kataang. dude, if i had some 12 year, who has not gone through puberty yet, making puppy dog eyes at me, i would be sickened. i don't care what some kataangers say, there may be 2 years between katara and aang, but 12 is worlds away from 14.

I honestly agree with you, Maiko may not be a favorite of mine, but I can tolerate it more so then I can Kataang. Which now, Katara is 15, might be going go 16, Aang and Toph are 13 going 14, Sokka is 16, going on 17 and Zuko is roughly 17. And yeah, 13 and 15 is still a large distance between one another. I still think it's too wide. Mai is not the most expressive person in the world. But she leaped a hurdle in The Boiling Rock, as her eyes did gloss over when Zuko locked her up. But, eh, I wont like it, but I'll deal with it. :/

But don't worry... we'll be back to real talking once someone comes up with something to talk about. XD

Well... I think Zuko jumping in and protecting Katara is uber romantic. It just seems rather... un-Zuko like.

I didn't see anything romantic about the googly eyes. xD -lame reinacment- Mai:-googly eyes- Zuko:-googly eyes- Zuko:Toodles! -runs off to kick butt with Sokka-
I liked maiko a tinnny bit in Zuko Alone, but only as fanon, and only as a childhood crush.
