Okay. Sorry to interrupt but there's this book I'm reading and there are parts in french and I'm looking at it like this -> gonk .

So I need a translator.

Judge Advocate Koetzschen, a man of barely thirty, turned to Gwen:"Comment allez-vous, mademoiselle?"
"Merci. Tre's bien."
"Comment, monsieur?"
- p. 251 Beneath Another Sun, Ernst Lothar.

I mean. I understand PARTS of it but for some of it, I'm just. gonk
Help plz k thx by.

my translation : domokun

How are you, miss?
Well, thank you.
Have you begun learning French in America?
Yes, sir.
Were you a good student?
So so.
Didn't you ever make little errors in your compositions?
Certainly. Almost always.
Do you like France?
A lot.
Do you think America is like France?
Not at all.
Surely you know the s**t words?
Pardon, sir?
s**t?
No, sir.
No problem. But have you heard "leave me the hell alone" ?
How, sir?

Dunno if that made any sense (I don't know what the context was so I wasn't 100 % sure how to translate some of it), but hopefully it gives you some idea of what was going on ninja

Yeah, it does make sense, thanks a lot for the translation. ^^

Uh, the context was that Gwen is in court testifying as a witness to a murder of her french-teacher. Koetzschen is speaking with her in French to test her French ability, since the victim's last words, that she reported, were in French.

It's really making me sad now cause. They frame an innocent because he's Jewish, and they poison him with bromine so he can't properly answer the interrogations and it just. Damn.

Okay, I've been wonderring...how do you say 'how are you' in French formally?...I kinda forgot sweatdrop

Also, How do you spell 'good-bye' informally? I think I'm better at speaking. I have basicly only tooken one year of French:
6th grade, 2 quarters 7th grade 2 quarters.
I have P.E. when I'm not in French crying I'd sometimes rather be in French all year, but P.E. is requierd gonk
