Seifer ran a hand up his forehead and across his hair, drawing it back behind his head as he breathed deeply becoming irate. "I told you. The Ogre accosted me on the front lines. Fine, I suppose it is my fault for this. I was wrong for not having made sure the beast was dead right then and there in that first encounter. I had initially fled from the ogre. He and that elf managed to head me off. I thought I had crushed them in battle. That elf should have been reduced to ashes. I was wrong! Is that what you so wanted to hear?"

Bloom elbowed Orin lightly in the side, "You don't have to threaten him." She let out a small sigh, "It's okay Seifer, next time they cross us we will reduce them to a pile of ashes. So while those two do whatever royals do..." she gestured to the library where the Fire Princesses went, "let's figure out how we can defeat them next time."
Iris sat down in a chair, "Hmm... that sounds quite promising. The ritual has yet to be performed, so Menos can only manipulate water." She leaned her head back and looked up at the ceiling, "It would be easier if we didn't do this alone. We need an alliance that will give us an edge. The Light and Dark kingdoms have just formed, unless we get both kingdoms on our side, I doubt they can give us the edge we need." She paused for a moment, "There are the sub-elements too. Lightning elemantalist would be a good ally in a fight against water. But once again, there may not be enough to give us an edge." She sat up in her chair and looked her sister in the eye, "Those people from Earth were good, I don't want them as enemies. They probably hate water for flooding their home, but judging how they reacted after just seeing Seifer, it is going to be really hard to gain their favor. If they make and alliance, it will probably be with Air. That leaves Air, I'm not sure where they stand. They could go either way. What are your thoughts sister?"

Orin touched Blooms thoughts, and said, Sorry. I'm used to commanding on the front lines of battle, and even the most mild-mannered Half-Dragon soldiers need negative reinforcement to get the truth out of them. He removed himself from her thoughts, and said to Seifer, "I apologize, Seifer. The heat of battle is where most grudges are formed, and I know how hard decisions are to make when standing up to a creature three times your size." He sighed, and continued. "The point is, I needed to know how badly they want you dead. If they come hunting you, we need to be ready." He looked over at Bloom. "Most of the power they had was coming from the totems the shaman placed in the ground. They are warded against attack, but there must be a way to remove of destroy them."

"Don't put yourselves in harms way on my account." Taking a deep breath, Seifer shook his head, "They're my problem. I'll exterminate them myself." Seifer clenched a fist tightly as he turned to travel down the castle hall. I refuse to be intimidated by animals from a fragmented nation. Let them come, their corpses will make a glorious bonfire.

"Seifer!" Bloom called out, "They are our problem too! They became our problem when they attacked us!" She jumped in front of him, "We are not putting ourselfs in harms was for your account, we fight because they pose a threat! Stop being so self-centered and accept help when it is offered to you!"

Violet considered Iris' words before responding. "Well, back at the castle before the whole fiasco began, I was thinking Earth would be a perfect ally. They hate water for what they did to their nation so I was assuming they would gladly love revenge, but now I'm not so sure they would accept our offer so easily." She began thinking about the possibilities, "Maybe if we gave them what they wanted they would take our offer... but they are so scattered as of now I'm afraid they would easily be crushed. If we allied with the Light and Dark kingdoms that would probably be best, although we would have to choose one. They are natural opposites and I"m not sure they would align with each other." She then looked back towards the rows of books, her mind off in thought. "Argh! Why do military strategies have to be so hard!"

"She is right, Seifer. You said you had fled from the ogre, and you may not have the chance next time you face him. Our inner flames make us kin, and that means when they strike at you, they strike at us." Orin walked up behind Seifer and placed a hand on his shoulder. He streched his thoughts into Seifer's, and said, And yes, the bonfire will be magnificent.

Iris got up and walked to a window, "Military strategies are like politics, it's always going to be complicated." She paused for a few moments, "We have three options. Option one: we align ourselves with Light and Lightning. Both of their elements are close together, so we won't have the problem of natural opposites. Lightning's element also lies close to our own element, so we won't clash with them. And as far as I know, Light has made no alliances with any of the other nations, so they might be a bit more willing to make an alliance." She turned around to face Violet, "Option two is a bit more difficult. You mentioned that we give the people of Earth what they want. They want revenge and land. Option two is that we align ourselves with Earth and offer them some of the land we gain. But before we can do that, we have to make them see that Colm was the one who caused the fire that burned their homes, not us. That alone is going to be difficult." She smiled, "Option three: we do both option one and two, giving us a force that Water could not possibly defeat."

Seifer shifted his head to give Orin a glare, Don't do that. It's creepy. He clasped his hands and looked up for a moment. "Alright fine, though again I should emphasize keep your distance when fighting the giant and ogre," he tilted his head to look back at Orin again, "Well not you. You have the size and weaponry to be able to manage close quarters combat with them."

Orin laughed, removing his hand from Seifers shoulder, and said, "I fought and defeated a dragon twelve times my size. I think an oversized caveman and a witchcraft-loving greenskin should be no problem, ecpecialy with allies." He frowned, andd faced Seifer. "That is, if we know how to defeat them. Live with dragons for over 14 years and you know all of their strengths and weaknesses." He sighed and shook his head. "We still need to figure out how to destroy those totems. They cant be cut or burned, so how do we disable them...?"

Violet frowned. All this military strategizing was making her head hurt. "Look Iris, I don't know what to do about the situation anymore, but what I do know is all I want is go into the Water nation and take what is theirs so that they know whose the better of the two nations." She then smiled continuing on, "And who knows, maybe after we've captured the Water nation we can conquer the rest of them." She then stood up and motioned for Iris to follow her. "Come, we will take your options to our military strategist who would actually know how to get the job done the best because I certainly don't have a clue." With that said she exited the library to return back to the others.

Bloom thought for a moment, "Did you try to remove them from the ground? They became active when he put them in the ground, so maybe we can deactivate them by removing them from the ground." After she said that she saw the Fire Princesses walking towards them.
Iris smiled, "Orin! I'm relieving you of your duties of temporarily keeping the peace!" she said, laughing. She looked around at the others, "Okay! Violet and I have come up with a plan that will expand our borders! We still need to work out the details, and your opinions would be greatly appreciated!" She then launched into what her and Violet had come up will so far, explaining their possible alliances. "The alliance with Lightning and Light would be the easiest to form. If we do decide to try to align ourselves with Earth, Seifer you will not be there when we talk to the people of Earth! They attacked just after seeing you! There would be no way to form an alliance if they attack you again!" She paused for a moment to let all of the information sink in. "We are open for new ideas. What are your thoughts?"

"Why do we have a military again? Just airlift this guy into the drop zone, save some cash and manpower." Seifer said, pointing at Orin with his thumb. He listened quietly to the overview of what sounded to be a plan the twin princesses had settled on, folding his arms as he did. He took a deep breath and sighed before beginning with what had first come to mind. "Why align with the Earth nation? They're an empty shell, obliterated and waiting to be swept up and thrown away. All they have left is that inhospitable swamp to the far east where all the freaks have gathered, and their pathetic little capital which is currently beginning reconstruction. They should be an easy target." Though in hindsight those are undesirable locations...

Orin frowned at Seifers "Airlift this guy." comment, but waited for him to finish before speaking. "I doubt earth would want to join with us anyways, seeing that we backed Seifer when they attacked him. They probably despise us as much as they do him." He crossed his arms, forming an idea. "As for lightning, I think I know who we can recruit. The ninja who tried to rescue the water princess, I believe he was a lightning user. Now that he is on the run, he would be easy to scoop up and fill our ranks. If we can convince him that our protection is worth more than his friendship with water, than he will be our ace to defeat water." He grinned. "And when we are done with him, we can turn him in for his bounty."

Bloom looked at Orin, "Don't count on it Orin. That ninja is obviously close to water, he wouldn't want to attack them. Even if we did get him to fight with us, by the time it was over, Menos would have probably removed his bounty."
Iris rolled her eyes, 'That is exactly what that goody-two-shoes would do.' she thought. "Come on guys, have an open mind! Why align with Earth? Because they are good! They have nothing to lose, meaning they are more likely to fight!" She shrugged, "Yes, it will be hard to gain their favor, but not impossible! Let them keep their swamp and their little capital. We can take them out later if that makes you feel any better Seifer." She looked around, "Do you guys have any better ideas?"
