Zack followed Melody, Strake in his hands. He hoped Amadeus could bring Sarah back to this world-he worried about her. Poor girl had already passed out once today, and one person can't take passing out twice in one day. Not that he heard of, that is.
When he got inside, he noticed Jay, Kevin, and Tristan were still eating. It was no surprise; if men don't eat all day, they tend to eat as much as they can. At least, these men do.
Gently, he helped Katie set Strake on the couch. Sparky was no where to be seen, and he hoped the bird was okay. He figured it'd be crying over Strake right now. Maybe he went to chase after whoever it was that harmed Strake.
"Just keep him here until he comes to," Zack said. He actually didn't know what they should do about an unconcious person. He had never encountered one before. ~~ Sarah's gaze was focused on a point far away, she couldn't even see Amadeus standing in front of her. His touch felt like a butterfly landed on her hand. His voice seemed far and distant.
The air had become so dark and evil, far too much that she was able to handle. She couldn't get the image of Sotan out of her mind. When she looked upon him, it felt as if all the good in the world had disappeared. She felt cold. Her shivering was just barely see-able.
Her mouth quivered, and a slight whimper could be heard in response to Amadeus' attempt at bringing her back.

((Zack brings up a good point... who has Sparky? XD If memory serves me, I think Amadeus caught the bird and handed him to... Melody?))
Amadeus's head whipped around at the voice of... could it be? His eyes widened when he saw none other than Lady Mirvada herself standing before him. He briefly dropped to one knee, his way of showing respect to the High Angel, and then returned to his full height once more before speaking. "Lady Mirvada, this young woman -Sarah- has been in shock for, I'd say, the last five minutes, perhaps more. While she and her friends were outside, they witnessed two events: The first was a battle between a Fallen Angel and an outcasted Demon; The second was the appearance of none other than Sotan himself." Amadeus turned to look at the aging priest. "Charles's presence was enough to drive him off, and for that I thank you, Father."
Amadeus turned his attention back to Sarah, who had made some attempt at a response to Amadeus's touch. "I believe the first event put the poor girl's nerves on edge, and the second was more than enough to throw her into a state of shock." While he was speaking, Amadeus was wracking his brain for what needed to be done to help Sarah. Another feather-light touch to the hand wouldn't be enough. It would merely produce the same, meager response from the shell-shocked human. She needed more. An idea struck him.
He turned back to Mirvada. "Lady, if you don't mind, I have one more idea to help Sarah before I turn her over to your more-than-capable hands. I... haven't been able to help very much so far in this brief stint on Earth. It's the least I could do to help this girl come back to us."
Amadeus focused once more on Sarah, who was still perfectly rigid. Slowly, very slowly so as not to frighten/excite his "patient" Amadeus pulled Sarah into a hug. Once his arms were firmly wrapped around Sarah, his wings followed suit, stretching out and curling forward to "embrace" the human. Last, and most importantly, came his Blessings of Warmth and Strength.
'O Father in Heaven,' He began silently, closing his eyes, 'look down and witness the state of this mortal. She has seen evil which no human should ever have to look upon... which no human has the strength to look upon. She has been broken, Father. Evil stirs in her soul, not because she willingly habors it, but because it has forced its way in there from the mere sight of the Unholy Sotan. She has become weakened, Father, rooted to the spot by his daemonic gaze, and chilled to the core by his hellish presence. She is in grave danger, Father. And she requires Your assistance.
'Grant her the Blessing of Warmth. Re-ignite the flame of good within her soul, so that the icy fingers of the darkness may not tighten their grasp and take her. Let Your Holy presence be felt within her being. Only then will she be able to begin her fight against the evil within. Likewise, Father, grant her the Blessing of Strength. You of all the beings that exist between Heaven and Earth know the dark powers of daemons like Sotan. His influence is not easy to shrug off, not even for an angel. She requires Your divine Strength, Father, if she is to succeed in her fight against the darkness. Grant her these blessings, Father in Heaven, and she will once again become a servant to all that is good, to all which is the embodiment of your will. Amen.'
Amadeus's eyes snapped open at the end of his prayer. He pulled his wings back to their resting position, and released Sarah from his embrace. He had done everything within his powers as a Guardian Angel now. If it still wasn't enough, then perhaps Sarah truly required the help of an angel more powerful than he. An angel like Mirvada. It was good that she was here. What would they do if she was not?
((Hot zam, I think Amadeus's prayers are my favorite part of his character. They're just so... fun to write. ^^))

(( I thought Dart killed Sparky. But Zack didn't know that so he assumed the bird was off somewhere alive. Anyway, I'm going to wait for Sora to post, cause I have to think about how sarah will react. Will she come back alive? Or...not? o.O Well, she isn't really dead, but that was the best way i could explain it. Anywho...if she doesn't post by tomorrow morning, I'll post up.
And Amadeus' prayers are equally fun to read. ^^ ))

((She better NOT die. >_> 'Cause Sarah's a cool kid. As for Sparky, I'm pretty sure he was just a crumpled mass of (alive) bird that was falling from the sky, and someone caught him. And Corrupted Dart had actually said in ooc that Sparky is still alive, so... I'm going to operate on the assumption that Amadeus has him at the moment. Unless anyone objects.))

Sarah stood there, allowing Amadeus to embrace her. The larger form of contact felt like when he touched her hand, a butterfly. Sotan still occupied her mind, and she began to wonder if he would ever let her be. Her blue eyes became misty, finally feeling like she was going to cry. Cry long and hard like she had done when she a little girl having nightmares, or night terrors.
It was then Amadeus wrapped his wings around her, her mind allowed her that much, and she became scared, scared enough to move. He first reaction was to fight away, gently pushing herself away, but without the strength, she wasn't very successful.
A voice sounded in her mind, though very faint, and again she was frightened for she couldn't quite understand what it was the low voice said, but, somehow, it calmed her. Laying her head against Amadeus' chest, she closed her eyes, trying to hear what that voice was telling her.
Her body became warm, and she slowly began to have awareness of her surroundings. She knew, now, that it was Amadeus holding her; she didn't know that at first, though she did know that she was being held by someone.
As the voice continued, the images of Sotan slowly dissipated, and was replaced by a meadow. There was so much sunshine, it filled her body, and she could feel her muscles loosen. It felt so relieving, she slumped, just letting go of all her control over her body, and if she wasn't being held, she would've fallen. Tears slowly made their way to her eyes, and started making their way down her cheeks in one thin stream.
She smiled as the voice continued speaking. It somehow reminded her of the song her mother used to sing to her as a child after waking up from a nightmare, or during a thunderstorm when they used to bother her. Thinking of her mother singing to her, the voice was replaced by that image, and even the song came in crystal clear.
'...For you know, once even I was a little child, and I was afraid but a gentle someone always came to dry all my tears, trade sweet sleep for fears and to give a kiss goodnight.'
There was more to the song, but this verse stood out more in her mind. Gently, she nustled((nestled?)) against Amadeus, and hoped he wouldn't let go, for now she felt safe and secure. She didn't know who, or what, that voice belonged to, but it helped her feel like she was a child having just woken up from a nightmare, and was in the care and embrace of her mother.
((Wewt, numbah's post of the century! And I would never let Sarah die. I like her too much to end our times together. =] And that snippet song is actually from a regular sized song, about 2-3 minutes, maybe even longer, i don't know, i haven't looked at teh time. It's called Lullaby for a Stormy Night, and it's by Vienna Teng. I just got finished listening to it, and it somehow told me to put it in there somewhere. So I did...it turned out okay, it looks like. =] ))

((The embedding of the lyrics was very well done indeed.))
Amadeus blinked in surprise when he saw that, while Sarah had indeed relaxed and was clearly feeling better, she was still leaning against him. Why would that be? All he did was give physical contact to bring her back to the real world, and then a pair of Blessings to help her fight off Sotan. And physical contact was kind of a stretch, considering the fact that he was an ethereal being. His hug would have merely felt like a warm, soothing breeze that-
And then he realized the significance of Sarah leaning on him.
Mortals can't lean against angels. Even if they can see them and hear them, they can't lean against them. They'd fall right through... flat on their face. Angels can have some semblance of contact with mortals as faint echoes and winds, but they can't touch. So how in the name of all things holy was Sarah leaning on him? He was an angel, and she was a mortal. The idea of them being in physical contact made about as much sense as two plus two equating to ten. Well... unless you're counting in base-four, but that's just weird and unheard of. Kinda like how this was weird and unheard of.
He stretched his wings in frustration... and terror washed over him when he didn't hear the usual swish-snap when he stretched his wings. He looked over his shoulder, and didn't see any wings back there.
What kind of sick joke is this? I HAD WINGS ABOUT TEN SECONDS AGO.
It just didn't make sense. At all. He hadn't even noticed that he lost his wings. Now that he thought about it, the usual feeling of them folded against his back had gone away. But it just... happened. And somehow, the change in feeling went unnoticed by him. Well that was just great. So now he could touch mortals, and he had no wings. What was next? He was going to be mortalized?
... or had that already happened?
He started hugging Sarah again. He could definitely use a hug right about now. Or at least an explanation. Maybe Lady Mirvada could explain it. Maybe it would be something along the lines of what happened to Melody. But she got hit by an arrow, didn't she? What had happened to him? No, it wasn't making any sense. Did Sotan do something to him? He was still an angel after the Greater Daemon had left. An after-effect? Something that had a time delay?
Amadeus looked up and over at Mirvada, confusion and fear written all over his face.
((Here's an equation for y'all: TanManDown + Boredom + RP Character + Idea = Pain for Amadeus
kudos for those of you who catch the 'Portal' reference.))

Mirvada watched the scene with unchanging eyes and expression, though couldn't help but laugh a little on the inside as Amadeus seemed to almost panic at the sudden change between he and the girl. This was why she had been urging Magmus to give the angels more training; they were never ready for things like these, when angels can change juuust a little bit around certain humans.
"Nothing to worry about; you'll return to normal in a few moments." Mirvada said calmly in an almost soothing tone as she walked up to them. The girl seemed to slowly be feeling better; perhaps God had stepped in with some sort of memory from the past. She merely watched as the two were in embrace, not wanting to disturb the girl.
Charles also watched silently, but couldn't help but wonder if Mirvada did something to Sarah, or if it was God. Techinacally, both would be from God, but still.

((Sorry guys, the renters left the house in a bad shape and we had to clean it up, TMD are you talking about Portal the game by Valve? I played that game but I didn't see the portal reference, 'The cake is a lie' is really the only Portal reference I've ever made, btw you have Sparky, you caught him, he didn't die, and cannot die unless somebody kills Strake, because of their link Strake being alive is keeping Sparky alive, but Sparky is basically paralysed, and all of his bones are broken, he's in agonizing pain and probably wishes he'd just die. Oh and TMD you spelt corrupted right, I spelt it wrong in my name, and was too lazy to fix it XP. Who missed me?))
What is this, I see a dark red ground, am I walking I can't tell, this place kind of feels...soothing...what happened to me? Strake thought to himself, knowing not of his current situation. This is my old room, there's a book on my bed, 'live life without regret' what kind of a title is that? Strake saw a bed, dresser, mirror, blinds, a desk, and a door, similiar too a normal human's room. Something about this room is making me feel...relaxed...
"Look Strake's body is changing!" Katie yelled out in surprise as the demon's body was slowly changing into the familiar shape that Katie had known for all this time. "He's human again? I'm curious, why are you angels helping out a demon? Don't you two hate each other or something?" Katie asked carrying Strake's unconsious body towards the door.
No, this is the day I dismissed my father to oblivion! Strake realised in surprise. So the book must have been the book I learned about The Great Equivalence from...I don't know how I opened up those portals...Oh look cake, I don't remember this, wait, 'live life without regret' I'm suppose to relive this moment aren't I? The cake was put there to trick me, the cake is a lie.
Strake's body changed back to the demonic form as he became distressed. "I hope he's normal once we get inside." Katie said continueing to carry the body of the demon.
I must calm down, I was human when I faced him, and I was completely calm, if I'm distressed I may fail this, this-
"Strake, your father needs to see you, he told me it was urgent." A person from the hallway said as he walked by Strake's room, his door was all the way closed, so he didn't see the figure.
What was it that I responded with, oh yeah- "I'm coming, give me a second." Strake responded exactly as he did all those years ago, he was glad that he had photographic memory. He waited a few moments to calm down, and get ready to face his father as he had done years before.
Strake's body changed back to human form. "I think he may be having a dream of some sort, do demons change forms based on different emotions? Because I feel his muscles tighten every time he changes into demon form and then relax when he is human." Katie observed the body and continued to walk.

((Yes, Portal by Valve. The reference was actually very minor. It's not like the widely known internet meme, as the cake is. During the final showdown with GLaDOS, she's pretending to malfunction to taunt Chel, so she says, "Two plus two is four..... in base ten I'M FINE." So the reference was with Amadeus saying the whole mortality thing was as weird as two plus two equating to ten... well, unless you were in base four.
And I'm glad you're back. You haven't really missed much, which is a good thing. Always a pain to come back and be like, "... Oh... I've missed five pages of posts, and several of them are Sora_Kitty's enormous, plot-moving posts. Fun... -_-"))

((Bah, the only reason my posts are acutally painfully long, is because this was the first RP I made that I'm attempting at elast a partly-made story. xd I've been having a hard time deciding what to do next, but I should probably post before this place accidently dies without me realizing it.))
Melody watched curiously as his body was changing forms while he slept. Not quite sure WHY exactly he was acting like this, the best guess the girl had was that it was some sort of soul-empowering thing.
"Pretty close, but not quite." The soothing voice suddenly entered the room, walking around and looking at teh couch at him in his sleep.
"While most non-humans take a human form and expect to never have some sort of attatchment, it always works out the opposite of that. Some sort of important memory is always made while in such a form, and for it for him to be changing forms, it's probably something that subconsiously, he's reliving, that has both relaxed moments (as he changes human), and tightened moments (such as when he's changing to a demon). And if my mind serves me correct, then I'm pretty sure on what memory it is." she said in monotone, her usual voice.

((gah, I was hoping someone else would post, but it's been six days since sorakitty posted.))
Strake walked out the door with a very plain expression, to make sure that nobody knew of his intentions, or the worry of not being able to open the portal again. How did I open it? I remember that my father was talking about my brother, who is the only person I have ever feared, then I went into an outrage over it, because something he said terrified me. My hand was in a C shape...was I a demon? No, I had some odd shape, it was like...I can't remember. Strake thought as he walked down the hallway, at the end of it, he saw his father sitting in the great throne room.
"Ahh, Strake, you may approach me, I assume you want to know why I have summoned you, is that right?" Strake's father said with a deep low god-like voice.
"Yes father, it would be nice to know why you interrupted my reading." Strake said involuntarily, it seemed that his body was functioning on it's own. He was three meters from his father.
"Well reading is important. If the next Satin were an idiot he would be killed by one of the four elites, just like your brother." His father replied in the same powerful voice.
"My brother's death is of no consequence to me, I could rule with him or without him, he was worthless, and did not deserve to exist." Strake said, with a slight tinge of spite in his voice.
"Your brother is no longer dead, he has conquered death and he once again lives, but in order to be fully restored, he needs your blood." Satin stood as he said this, Strake's brother was his favorite son, not Strake.
"I will not give my blood to that FOOL!" Strake Said, yelling the last line, as he did so his body changed, not into his demonic form, but a shadow of his demonic form, his eyes glowing red, and his marks also glowing red.
"What, what is this? He shouldn't have the shadow form, that form has gone extinct, it's not possible, NOOOOOO!" Satin yelled as a portal opened up below him, sucking him in.
With a pulsation of dark energy pulsating outwards the castle and all it's inhabitants were obliterated, and at that moment, everybody knew that a demon had just expelled great evil from his body. At the origin of the pulsation lied Strake, lying down, unconscious.
"Do you wish to leave this place?" A woman's voice asked Strake, softly, her voice was almost angelic.
"It depends if there is anything more to gain from staying." Strake replied calmly.
"There is always more to gain, but we determine gain by the amount of loss, staying here would give more loss than gain, so in your sense, there is nothing to gain by staying." The woman replied.
"Than I would like to leave." After saying this Strake's amulet glowed a bright red as it did when his soul was absorbed.
"Why is his amulet shining again?" Katie asked as the brightness of the light intensified to a whiteness.
((Strake didn't change form during this post, which is why I didn't mention it))

((Ok, I thought long and hard (maybe too long, sorry ^_^; ), and came up with something! =D Hopefully it doesn't interrupt anyone elses' plans =] If it does, tell me, and I'll edit. Also, I wrote it down somewhere, but I don't remember where I put it all, so I'm doing this by memory. >.< ))
As Amadeus hugged Sarah again, she smiled, slowing coming to, though her mind was still in a happier time...
It was Christmas two years ago - or was it last year? Sarah's family had just recieved her great aunt's belongings. Yes, the very same aunt who never thought to call, visit, or even write a simple note, letting Sarah know that she even had a great aunt. Sarah was a little peeved that a great aunt she knew nothing about, passed down all her money, houses, and businesses to her and her parents.
Sarah didn't know how to make this gesture sound less disrespectful, but her great aunt did die right about the time Zack was looking for a place to permenantly play. Birthdays and picnics just weren't cutting it anymore. For Christmas that year, Sarah bought the band new instruments, and had gotten them a full time gig at the Kappa Club, playing every Friday and Saturday.
In his joy, Zack picked up Sarah and swung her around. Sarah had never felt happier in this moment, and this was the moment she had delevoped secret feelings for Zack. She knew having feelings for a bandmate would be horrific for their career, so she kept them in the dark.
She still knew, however, and feeling Amadeus' arms around her made her think it was Zack who was holding her. Opening her eyes, she sighed. She couldn't see Amadeus' face, so she had no idea that it was really him she was with.
She closed her eyes again, muttering his name, almost incoherently, though she knew what she said.
~~
As Zack's eyes fell upon the glowing amulet around Strake's neck, he knew they all had to move to Sarah's actual home. It was bigger, with more rooms, and had provisions they might actually need; food, soap, cloths, etc. A bigger house would be easier for them all to move around and get their bearings together. Staying in this podunc little house could prove disasterous.
He walked into the dining room, where the others were cleaning up, seemingly to have finally fulfilled their hunger pains.
"Hey, Zack," Jay said. "We're going to head on out of here, it's getting late and I have to be at the autoshop early, else my boss-dad is going to kick my a**."
"Can you do something really quick, first?" Zack asked, trying not to sound too stressed, since he was still a little freaked out about everything. "I need you to drive us to Sarah's house. Strake's passed out on the couch and-"
Jay laughed, cutting Zack off. "Little tyke couldn't stay up any longer? Yeah I'll drive you guys to the house. Get everyone in the van. We have room. These two can chill here for a bit." He pointed to Tristan and Kevin, who nodded in agreement. There wouldn't be enough room if they all went.
zack walked back out into the living room, where everyone was gathered. "We got to move him to the van. Jay is going to take us to Sarah's house." He didn't wait for an answer, he made his way to the front door. He wanted to know how Sarah was, and if he needed to carry her or not. He knew Amadeus couldn't carry her, since, technically, Amadeus was almost like a ghost. He knew that much about angels.
But when he got just outside of the door, he stopped in his tracks. Seeing Sarah being hugged by Amadeus nearly made Zack's head fly through the roof. His first thoughts were to pound Amadeus' face in, but he reminded himself that, first of all, his fist would just go right through, and second of all, what the angel was doing was probably best for getting Sarah back to normal, if she ever got that far.
He threw his arm in the air and waved it. "Hey, yo!" he called to the two. "Get in the van, we're leaving!"
Sarah looked up at the sound of Zack's voice, her eyes opening immediately. He was over by the front door, waving at her, and yet, she was still being held. Then who....?
Backing up slightly, she looked up and saw Amadeus. Immediately, her cheeks flushed, and her throat fell into her stomach. She was so embarassed and terrified that she almost fainted again. Thankfully she kept her wits, and pulled away from Amadues completely.
Muttering an apology, she hurried over to the van. She didn't know where they were going, but she was so mortified that she didn't want to see the angel, or Zack for that matter. With her head down, she placed herself in her seat in the passenger side of the van, and covered her face.
How embarassing.
((Oh, SK, I want to bring in a new character, but I don't know if you want me to submit a pro for her or not. I used to rp her a long time ago, so I pretty much know her inside and out. =D ))
