"Wow, its alot different than I expected. Lets see if we can find anyone here to help us." Riku exclaimed, looking around the room.

Light_Ashtoreth

Ashtoreth sighed before running after the pair, "Ed, I'm going to the office anyway, and I believe that you'll want to be present for the report I have."
Looking at Reina she grinned slightly, "You can come too, it's always better to have someone who can help restrain the walking time bomb if he decides to go off on someone."

He stopped at the top of the stairs leading out of Central Station. Blinking a few times, his eyes went from person to person. Now there were several there. He motioned to Ashtoreth that several of her friends had arrived and told her that he would see her around later. Shrugging, he continued to walk ahead with Reina in tow.

Frowning, he raised an eyebrow. How did she know his name? He had never met this person before.

A sudden chill ran up his spine as he stepped out into what had been the daylight several moments earlier. Frowning at the sudden change in weather, he looked back to Reina. "I'm sorry that I was rough back there, it's just that I'm not completely sure what is going on here and I wanted to get out of the station."

Scoffing a bit he shrugged. Central still looked the same as he remembered it from before, not much had changed, there were a few new shops here and there but nothing of major significance. Suddenly rain started falling from the over saturated black clouds that now billowed overhead. The drops fell quickly and saturated his once dry clothing and hair. More shivers ran up his spine, though he was not quite sure what casued him. It was either the chill of the cold automail arm that was attatched to his shoulder or the feeling that hung in the air. Due to the fact that the automail was attatched directly to him, it seemed that whenever it was chilly out it caused him to get cold all over. Almost like the arm was a transmitter for the cold to go to his body.

"Reina, going to Central HQ will have to wait for a bit. This storm looks like it is only going to get worse. Right now, we just need to see about getting shelter." He motioned to the station which now had the doors shut. He walked back to them quickly, thinking that they would go back into the station and wait out the storm, however the doors were locked.

Hmm, that's odd. I didn't realize they closed so early. He walked back over to the window of the station and peered inside, seeing no one close enough to the window, he raised a white gloved fist and pounded on the window. Hard enough to hopefully get someones attention, though not hard enough to break the window.

The wind had now picked up quite a bit, leaves and dirt were blowing all around, thus making visibility next to nothing. Golden eyes darted about, looking for anything that appeared familiar with this limited visibility. Everything seemed foreign though. He did his best to make anything out, but failed. Something did not bode well with him. This storm was not completely of natural causes. There hung an ominous stench in the air as he dashed back out in the street, grabbing Reina's arm.

Dashing forward and making sure that she was still there with him, he headed for the nearest by building. Tugging on the large wooden doors, he realized they were locked. What the hell? Did the whole town just shut up all of a sudden? "Kuso! This won't work! We need to find somewhere else." His long golden hair was now soaked to the point of dripping, the hair becoming a bit too heavy, the ponytail holder fell out. Golden locks spilled down his shoulders as he continued to run ahead.

After a few moments of running through what now was a downpour he arrived at another fairly large building. He couldn't tell what it was, though for some reason it had an air of familiarity around it, he tugged at the door. To his surprise and gratitude the door opened with a bit of a squeak. He made sure Reina got inside and then he pulled the door shut behind him.

Turning around, he realized where they were. Both joy and dread crept up from his abdomen into his throat. He had both been looking forward to this day and dreading it at the same time.

They were at Central Headquarters, Central City.

~reina was shivering now and was drenched~are you alright Ed? ~she asked. her hair was hanging over her eyes and her clothes clung to her. she parted her hair and looked around~ where are we ~she asked. Reina sneezed then slipped on the wet floor~Aaaaah!~she fell~ OWCH

((Okay, new with this... so I'm taking Riza-san's approach and creating a bio for the character along with my introduction. *beams*

Name: Winry Rockbell
Age: 19
Occupation: Automail Mechanic
Hair: Sunbleached blonde
Eyes: Coppenhagen blue
Height: Approx. 5'6"
Personality: Violent, technically inclined, headstrong and reckless, but sweet when it matters and strong where it counts. [Many thanks to Riza-san for help with the bio! heart ]

And now for an intro...))

Winry tapped her sandal-clad foot impatiently against the wooden floor. She was beginning to get tired of waiting for the phone to ring. Brushing off her hands and tightening the bandana around her head, she sighed.

Walking once more over to the desk where the phone lay dormant, she rested one hand on the edge of it, shooting an irked glare at the device. She pulled a chair from where it rest a few feet away and set it in front of the desk, sitting backwards in it. She continued to stare at the phone, willing it to ring.

A soft clicking announced Den's entrance to the room, and Winry noticed a nudging at her hand. Jumping slightly, she turned to smile at the canine. Petting the top of his head, she wondered aloud what Al was up to.

"What do you think, Den? Maybe he's just busy..." she eyed the phone again. A vein popped out on her forhead, and she scooted the chair closer to the desk. "... but you know, if he were busy, you'd think he'd have the decency to call me and mention that!" Scowling softly, she rest her chin on the back of the chair.

Maybe I'll just call him. Then I can figure out what the heck he's doing.

Extending a hand toward the phone, she dialed the number for Izumi Curtis's home, and rested the receiver against her shoulder, letting it ring and drumming her fingers against the desk in an annoyed manner. When Izumi answered her phone, Winry's voice came out angrier than she'd intended it to.

"Izumi-san, where the hell is Al!?"

The dark-haired woman jumped on the other end of the phone.

"Uhm... Central...?" She replied, cautiously. Winry's jaw fell open.

Central? Central?! Her mind screamed. Nice of you to let me know where the heck you are, Al!! She snarled softly.

"Oh, is he...? Thank you, Izumi-san." She tried her hardest not to slam the phone back into it's cradle, without much success. Izumi jumped on the other end again, and stared at the telephone receiver a moment before setting it back into it's place, and eyeing it oddly. Shrugging, she went off to continue whatever business she'd been attending to.

Winry seethed. How could he?! She worried about him, for God's sake! Least he could do would be tell her where he was headed...!

Standing up and nearly throwing the chair back into it's place, Den skidding out of the way and sitting primly in a safe corner, Winry gathered the pieces of the project she'd been working on and put them away. Cleaning herself off, she made her way up the stairs to change, all but glowing with anger.

Making her way back down the stairs after changing, she picked up her toolbag and slung it over her shoulder. She would never go anywhere unprepared. And besides -- a wrench or two might come in handy when she found Al.

As she headed for the door, she was confronted with the two-foot-tall, lovingly strict Pinako Rockbell. The woman stared at Winry.

"Where are you going?" She asked.

"To Central to find Al. I called Izumi-san, and she told me that's where he went." Winry tried to keep the anger from ebbing into her voice as she spoke. Pinako sighed softly, and nodded. Moving to step around her, Winry spoke once more.

"I should be back in a few days, and I plan to bring him with me." With that, she nodded to Pinako once more, and made her way out the door, stepping confidently.

What was a smile turned immediately into a bit of a frown. Sighing heavily, he looked to Mustang. "Mustang-taisa... really... I didn...t mean for any of it to happen... I...I... uh..." his golden eyes cast to the ground, he bit his lower lip a bit.

Riza's heart went out to the boy. It was just like Roy to be all work and no play...even though it was obvious he was happy to see that Ed was all right. For a moment, Riza could barely contain the urge to put a friendly arm around poor Edward's shoulders. For just that split second, as the youth gnawed on his lower lip, he reverted to the scared, confused 15-year-old she had known long ago; the boy who had done all he could to try and save his little brother's soul from its iron prison...the boy who had been so torn beneath the brave face he put up.

She swallowed her maternal instincts and resigned to a small smile sent Edward's way, and a gentle correction, "Edward-kun...it's Mustang-junshou now..."

Ed gave her a sudden startled oh s**t look that almost made her laugh.

"I'm sure you can be pardoned the slip..." she told him. She had slipped up once or twice herself... Even after all this time, even after four years since he had been promoted...he was still Taisa in her eyes.

She cast a lingering glance at him, then looked down and smiled softly.

He would always be her Taisa...

HaganeNoRenkinjutsushi
For some reason his cheeks tinged a bit pink as he softly spoke to her. "A..arigatou goziamasu. It tends to be a bit on the chilly side in here when you're drenched." Sighing and giving up, he shot Riza one more thankful look.

She gave him a look that said the pleasure was hers, and then cast her eyes to Roy.

Come on, Roy... she thought at him, at least welcome the poor kid back... We all know you love to give him a rough time...but aren't you being a little cold?

HaganeNoRenkinjutsushi
His eyes remained on here for a moment as he reached up and gently touched her hand with his human one. His voice coming out in nothing more than a whisper as tears threatened to sting his eyes. "T..tadaima...Hawkeye...ne. Riza." He went ahead with what he felt to be right though it was showing disrespect for her seniority. He offered a weak smile as he let her hand go and drew her coat in around him.

Indeed he was a bit taller, as this coat would have definitely dwarfed him four years ago, though he was still not as tall as everyone else. He stood at about 5'5", which was much better than he was the last time he had been there. However, Mustang had enough height on him to still be able to call him ochibi-chan or whatever he wanted to.

Her face slackened a little as he called her by name, and she jumped at how cold the youngster's hand was as he took hers in a crisp handshake. Forgetting professionalism for a moment she impulsively wrapped both her hands around Edwards and gave him a sympathetic look. He cast her an uneasy glance, as if he was apologizing for using her name instead of her title, and she returned him a grin that sent a little wave of relief undulating across his features.

She was dying to comment on the fact that he had gotten taller, and was now just barely shorter than she was... But she feared his reaction... So she resigned herself to patting the lad on the shoulder as he slipped his hand from her grasp, and motioning for him to go ahead of her. She smiled as she watched him draw the jacket a little tighter around his shoulders and shudder in the still air of the dark corridor, and she absently wondered if there were any towels in a closet anywhere. Wouldn't it just be ironic that as soon as he made it back to Central he'd catch pneumonia...

Light_Ashtoreth
Astoreth looked at Al and sighed, "Coming!"

She ran after him, her eyes still alert for any strange activity. Suddenly a thought occured to her, 'What if this is Envy... kuso, I don't know how to tell, but if it really is Al... I'll just have to stay on guard, I don't want to end up doing something stupid'

Al moved further into the train station and waited for Ashtoreth to join him. She seem different, somehow. Like her becoming a State Alchemist has altered her, perhaps? He looked at her eyes, wondering what she had done with herself since leaving Izumi's training. Izumi-sensei mentioned that when you give up your own morals and become a "dog of the military", you lose something inside. I wonder if that's what happened, or if I am just imagining things.

She has been here for a little time now, and I wonder if she knows the books I will be looking for. Of course, I can only hope she does not, for if she does then she, too, has felt the pain of creating a homunculus. Alphonse shifted slighty at that thought, a chill not borne of the damp weather running aloing his spine. He set his suitcase down and readjusted his coat again. It did not seem to fit him all that well anymore, and he would have to see about some kind of employment to buy some new gear.

As he looked briefly around, there was an odd feeling of familiarity to this place. He had not been outside the train depot, to his knowledge, but he was certain that he knew where to go if he let his feet take him there. An odd sense of deja vu crept into him once more, like some ghost of the past revisiting him. As he looked around briefly, he had the uneasy feeling that he was being watched, but dismissed it as there were a few passers by that took notice of him.

I hope Izumi-sensei does not find out about my being here. She had a hard ebnough time when word leaked back about Ashtoreth joining the State Alchemists, and it was all I could do to keep her there so I could ask about things relating to my brother's dissapearance. I never imagined all the knowledge about the gate she possessed and, even though it took a lot of careful questions, she did give me some valuable clues about how to interact with it. All I need now is a bit more information. Surely there is someone who has been across to the other side and returned to tell of it. If nothing else, I can see if there are any references to the ones that do spawn on the other side: the homunculi. It's a last resort, but if I found one of them I could ask what I need of them.

As he thought about the homunculi once more, he suddenly felt so unprotected. Almost naked, like he had been stripped of his defenses. It was an odd sensation, as the sound of heavy rain fall surrounded him. He shivered once and looked for Ashtoreth. It had felt like an impossible amount of time had passed during the brief wandering of his mind.

Casting his golden eyes to the side for an instant he confided "T..tadaima" With that his eyes snapped back to his superior, his face a contortion of sorrow, happiness, and above the rest, confusion.

He wanted very badly to just wrap an arm around the lad and tell him that everything was alright, that he was home now, back with his family. However, he figured it was best to keep up his professional appearance. He nodded to Edward when he said that he was home. His deep gray eyes went a tad softer as he heard him say that word.

For four years now he had been waiting for the day that he would hopefully see the boy again. Now that it had come, he wasn't quite sure how to react.

HaganeNoRenkinjutsushi
"Mustang-taisa... really... I didn...t mean for any of it to happen... I...I... uh..." his golden eyes cast to the ground, he bit his lower lip a bit. He had hoped that he would have been more welcome and not questioned immediately.

His heart sank, he hadn't wanted the lad to feel bad about anything. Originally he intended for the boy to feel more welcome than he ever had before. However, that wouldn't have worked, because it would have been too strange for all of them.

He spoke rather softly as he eyed Edward. His eyes taking in every detail of what the boy looked like now. He had changed quite a bit in four years. "Hagane no, you can explain a bit later when we get to the office. Let us save the chatting for in there."

HaganeNoRenkinjutsushi
"I'll answer whatever questions you may have to the best of my ability, sir." With that, he snapped a crisp salute

A smile pressed it's way onto Roy's face. His dark gray eyes warmed up a bit. He hadn't expected the boy to be that formal. After all, he had a lot on his plate at that very moment. Not only that, but he hadn't been known to do that when he was in their world previously.

He let a small laugh escape his lips. "You needn't do that Hagane no. Just be yourself. Shall we go?" He directed the last question to the threesome infront of him.

With that, he turned on heel and headed back to his office. He opened the door and held it for everyone as they filed in.

Winry had always hated long train rides. And she especially hated long train rides if there was no one to talk to.

So here she sat, elbow resting on the sill of the train's window, chin in her palm. She feared she may fall asleep before she reached Central. Her tool bag rested on the seat beside her, and she laid her free hand across it, as if to keep it safe. Her blue eyes remained transfixed on the scenery outside.

Why did Resembool have to be in the middle of nowhere?!

...and moreover, why did Al have to be in Central??

She scowled softly. Pushing away from the window sill, she came to believe that the only thing keeping her awake at the moment was her miffed attitude toward Al's lac of contact to her.

She sighed suddenly, her anger deflating for a moment. She was acting like an overprotective legal guardian, or something.

Staring back out the window, she idly wondered if going to find Al in Central was a good idea or not. He must have had his reasons... Al may have been the younger brother of Edward Elric, who was famous for his hotheaded and spontaneous attitude, but Al had always been the more rational of the two...

Sighing again, she shrugged. Too late now. I'll find him and see what's up... and go from there. Still, she couldn't help but feel a might dejected for having not being notified about Al's whereabouts. Not that it's any different than it was before... never told me anything then, so why should I expect him to now? She sighed, her eyes flattening.

Well he's gonna have something comin' to him once I find him. Her hand subconsciously tightened around her toolbag.

Finally seeing the Central station in the distance, her spirits lightened, and a faint smile crossed her features.

---

Stepping off the train, toolbag slung over her shoulder again, Winry squinted through the rain.

Now that she was here, where was she supposed to look?

Refusing to let the daunting task of finding a fourteen-year-old among the throngs of people in Central dampen her spirits, she squared her shoulders. A day or two in more than rural civilization might do her some good, anyway.

((edit: i realized i got so into the post i forgot the bio! sweatdrop

name: Adine McLearynn
age: only her hairdresser knows for certain. i'd say...25ish?
occupation: Civilian Member of the Parliament; Secretary to Minister Filch, Head of Internal and Domestic Affairs.
height: 5'3" (160cm)
hair: bright copper-red
eyes: shifting shades of green
personality: Adine is very secretive...no one knows very much about her on a personal level. She accepted the job in Parliament when it was offered to her as a sort of recompense for the loss of family members in the transmutation incident of the city of Lior. She is thorough, quiet, and exotic, with a thick accent telltale of her birthplace. And, like any self-respecting secretary...her skirts are way too short and her legs far too long... stare ))

With that, he turned on heel and headed back to his office. He opened the door and held it for everyone as they filed in.

There was the sound of clean, sharp footfalls down the hallway. Clakk, clakk, clakk... like a metronome in their even stride. Black shoes gave way to long, toned legs, and led up to a gray skirt that was surely a few inches too short to fit dress code regulation. A short gray jacket that matched the short skirt covered a crisp white shirt and a red tie around a slender neck. Her skin was the color of pink porcelain, her eyes the shade of a faceted peridot. A tiny, upturned nose dotted the center of her face, right above a pair of slim, heart-shaped lips that she licked often enough (and with such a look on her face) to make her officemates squirm.

Her name was Adine. Adine McLearynn. And she was not only Secretary to the Minister of Internal and Domestic Affairs in HQ...she was the current head-turner in the building. She had been working there for four years, but it seemed that only recently she had come into her blossom. With her fire-red hair and her obedient, hard-working, eager-to-please attitude, she had quickly become the object-of-drool of many of the young male soldiers stationed in Central.

With a flashlight in one hand and a stack of papers tucked beneath her other arm. Adine sashayed down the hallway, her hips swaying in such a fashion that if the lights had been on, she surely would have heard a door or two open behind her as their occupants peeked out into the hall to watch her breeze past. But, alas, the lights were out, and no one was about to see Adine stroll down the hall toward Brigadier General Mustang's office.

With a lick of her lips and a brush of her hand to tuck a stray lock of scarlet behind one ear, Adine lifted her hand and knocked twice on the thick oak door, behind which sat Roy Mustang. She paused, heard a call of invitation, and hesitantly opened the door.

"Sir?" she drawled in a flawless Irish brogue that always left her colleagues gaping for a moment. "Mustang-junshou, excuse the interruption. I have some paperwork from Minister Filch that...couldn't wait for the power to come back on. Might I...intrude a moment and be graced with your autograph? It'll only be a moment..."

She hesitated in the doorway, noticed that everyone else in the room was staring at her with gawking eyes, and felt a blush tinger her cheeks.

Great. Common reaction. Even in the dark, she was startling. Her voice, most of all. The velvet words that rolled off her tongue usually had this effect on people. She sighed, and after a moment of silence, she heard Mustang's voice beckoning her inside. With a nod and a flutter of her eyes over her black-rimmed glasses; a slight bow, and she entered the office closing the door behind her, still holding the flashlight as she headed for the brigadier general's desk.

Havoc was the last one into the office. Closing the door behind him, he puffed on his cigarette and strode over to his usual corner by the window.

Let the inquisition begin... he thought wryly, watching Edward squirm a little where he stood.

It was funny... Havoc could tell Mustang was elated to see Edward again, but the brig. gen. had yet to break his stoic professional deadpan. Havoc snickered to himself. Poor Ed was probably scared out of his wits that he had a court-martial coming for going AWOL for four years...

Havoc nearly lost his hold on the cigarette in his mouth, his jaw fell open so abruptly. Quickly closing it again (one could get reprimanded sternly for such inappropriate behavior), he straightened his back and squared his shoulders a little.

So this was Adine McLearynn. He'd heard of her, but never actually seen her in person. Some of the junior recruits had told him about her...her long legs, her red hair... Those green eyes that looked as if they would see straight through you into your darkest soul... He felt his stomach lurch a little.

Gods, she was gorgeous. Those little black glasses gave her an air of demureness and intelligence...the wise look in her eyes gave off nuances of respectability and a knowledge of many things... Havoc swallowed hard. He had been on a few dates before...all of which had ended badly, but what he wouldn't have given to take this one out to dinner.

She could drawl at him anyday...

He chewed on the cigarette and cursed his chronic bad luck with women. Of course... Adine would probably go straight for Mustang, just like all the other secretaries had. As well as the nurses, the couriers, and...well...nearabout every other female that had entered the office. With a sigh, he folded his arms over his chest and watched her hips sway coyly as she sidled up to Mustang's desk and leaned over with the paperwork she had brought for him to sign.

He craned his neck a tad... Che~... no good. It was too dark to see if her skirt was short enough to see anything when she bent over. On top of the previous curse, he now damned the power outage.

He really didn't have any luck...

Looking away from Ed and Riza a moment, his deep gray eyes fell on the newcomer. He raised an eyebrow as his eyes travelled down her slender form and stopped at the... what was that... was it a MINISKIRT?!

He was thankful that the lights were out, as one couldn't see his gawking at the fact that there were employees who wore miniskirts! It was a heavensend. He watched her hips sway, he found himself almost counting in time with them as they swayed to and fro.

Surely she had practiced this, there was no way she could have the rhythm down so flawlessly otherwise. Then on down the long dazzling things that were attatched to her hips and ankles. Those were surely the most perfectly toned legs he had ever seen. It took him a moment to snap out of the trance that he was in as she spoke to him with that Irish drawl of hers. It must indeed be true that heaven is a place on earth.

He cleared his throat as she approached while snapping his eyes from her lower extremities up to her gorgeous green eyes. He now found himself being enchanted by those as well. Should he start off with asking her if she was busy later that night? No, no, that wouldn't be appropriate of him. Especially with Riza in there.

He looked to Riza quickly and then looked back to Adine. He held his hand out to take the papers from the young lady as she reached his desk. He picked up a pen and began to read through the papers.

"Might I ask what is so important it could not wait until the power came back on?"
