the ride home with Preston was pretty much silent except for his stupid rap music. Kayla assumed that he was just still pissed at her for the scene at Gaia but he was just reveling in his victory of stuffing her trombone with paper. luckily Dylan had told told her about it and with a little help form some other kids got it all out and of cousre Preston was stupid enough to stuff a note in the end that merely had a smiley face sticking out his tounge (like this blaugh ) and had signed his and his friends name. she was excited for 2morrow to hear from Dylan how MArienara's house and stage were. she was so excited she wasn't even paying attention when Preston kept looking at her and snickering.

It was no surprise he was frightened, most people would have been. The man who answered the door was huge and burly. His arms were so muscled he looked as if he could have snapped Dylan like a twig, and his legs were just as proportionally large. He had a wicked looking grin on his face, showing slightly pointed teeth. He was wearing black leather body armor, a serrated dagger hung at his hip, and a bandanna tied around his head that was the color of fresh blood.
"Well, what have we here? A little man here who wants to see the little spaghetti sidhe eh?" He grabbed Dylan by the collar and hoisted him inside. "How do yeh know about this place and the lady, who sent yeh. I think yeh would make a mighty weak snack, but I am awfully hungry, so yeh had best tell me." The look in his eyes was a deadly kind of playful enjoyment.

At Kayla's house, the big Golden tom was watching as her brother's car pulled up.

after all th excitement these last few days Kayla was tired so she decided to talk a little nap. she set her alarm for 20 minutes later and laid down. she was asleep within a minute and had one of her reaccuring nightmares about the fire. she was in her old living room and could see smoke pouring out of the kitchen. she ran in to see one of her moms candles broken on the floor. it had caught a nearby curtain on fire and had then spread to the newspaper that lined their new puppy's crate and P.J was no where to be seen. the fire then got into the living where she saw her dad asleep on the couch. he had been sick and some medicine was next to him. he finally woke because of the smoke and coughing he started calling for her, Preston and Heather (her mom) but they were still at the mall shopping for new clothes on the gift cards they got for their birthdays the month before. the fire came closer and all of a sudden the fire alarm changed and became louder. it was Kayla's alarm clock and it always woke her up at the same piont in the dream. she went over to her desk to strat her homework rubbing the sleep out of her eyes and trying to forget her dream for the thousandth time this year.

Kayla was stuck on a math problem and when she thinks she stares out the window and as she did she saw a golden expansive looking car outside her house. now Kayla wasn't very good with cars but it didn't seem like any of her neighbors in her middle-class neighborhood could afford one like that. oh well someone probably has company.

"Thor!" Marienara yelled as she came rushing onto the scene. "How dare you threaten my guests, put him down this instant! Stop threatening to eat them all!" Thor grudgingly released Dylan and turned to face her. "Now apologize, and don't make me force you, you know I hate it when I have to do that." Thor turned back to Dylan, not looking him in the eyes, whether out of anger or shame couldn't be told.
"Sorry," he mumbled.
"That's better. What are you doing here anyway? I thought I gave you something to do." Thor turned back to her, now he just looked sheepish.
"Sorry, I was about to go, but when I opened the door..."
"I told you to leave three hours ago. No excuses and not another word. Just go now, you've wasted enough time. You can give me your excuses when you get back." Thor solemnly left. Marienara sighed and turned back to Dylan.
"Sorry, I should have warned you. Some of the people you will meet here are a little....well, what's the best way to put this....odd. Just remember that no matter what they say, as long as you are in this house, they can't actually hurt you unless I give them explicit permission, which is not going to happen. Neither can they forcibly remove you."

Kayla kept trying to do her homework but the thought of the car still outside kept nagging at the back of her mind. darn my intense couriosity!

dylan yelled out to thor as he left
"its alright"
"anyway ya its ok he didnt hurt me so uhhh... nice place u got here"
he was looking around the place in shock

The golden tom cat also saw the car. He gave a slight hiss and ran for the bushes when he saw who was in it. He immediately climbed into the crawlspace under the house through a vent whose grate had been carefully removed. Under the house, the cat was not to be seen, but a golden-haired man with green eyes quickly touched a stone around his neck.
"What happened?" said the voice of Sien.
"Nothing, there's no big golden car outside or anything, because if there was, it would definitely be empty. They wouldn't be checking on the little shadow pooka who was never here either. Nothing is wrong, and no one could possibly be in any danger."
"Crap, this is bad. Did they see you?"
"Of course, I even did a little dance for them."
"Good. Try to keep out of sight. Hopefully they won't make the connection. Be careful."
"Me, careful? Why would I ever be careful?" said the man as he released his grip on the stone. The golden cat crept out from under the house, and watched the car from the bushes.

"Thanks. I know it's a bit intimidating." Frankly, it was big, huge even. The decor was rich, if not old fashioned, what with the tapestries and paintings that looked mideavil. It was remarkably well kept. Everything was spotless, and what could be shined was. It had an air of business about it, like it was usually full of many people. The strange thing was that Dylan saw no one. "I reccommend you don't wander around too much, I regularly have guests that can be a little sensitive about stuff. So just stick close and you'll be fine. Anyway, how about I show you to the concert hall?"

dylan looked at her almost instantly "gladly" he said with a smirk on his face saying i cant wait to see the percussion stuff
