[Q] Q: Why does what gender I am affect people so much, then? People like to know who/what they're talking to. It affects their reactions and anything they might say. It also affects the way they might feel about you. Not necessarily romantically, just in general. Example, a girl gets all pissy about something, she's just bitchy. A guy gets pissy about the same thing and it's okay (most of the time, don't take that as gospel). What's the soundtrack to your life? Standard CD format, 10-14 songs.

And that's exactly why I don't give my gender out at all... I don't want people to make assumptions on whatever gender I am, I like it when they judge me. Umbra started treating me WAY worse when he found out what sex I am, and most people quit talking to me about more personal things that they used to have no problem telling me when they didn't know what I was.
Gaia needs to have a no-sex avatar. That would be so awesome. If it were a paying service, I would so do it.
But, male is as close to no-sex as I can get on Gaia. -sigh-

I actually agree with having a third androgynous character, or creating a single androgynous character template that could be moulded to the individual tastes. It would solve the problem of gender-change fees (if all items are unisex and adjust the body to fit it), people who do not wish to select a specific gender, and the arguments by at least two people I know of that want to crossdress on Gaia.
It's a good idea, but I doubt it would be well accepted. People are a**l about changing the system that they're familiar with. Making the new character fit the old clothes or altering the clothes would be a headache.
Still... Go gender neutrality!

From what I'm hearing, you find gender a liability with the predetermined assumptions that are attached to it. By ridding the implication that you are physically of any identifiable gender, you are free to be an individual, a person that none of the preconceptions may apply to.
I was merely applying the concept to solve other problems. Like usual, failure on my part to communicate fully. sweatdrop
