Amaya watched him, seeing nothing out of the ordinary. She was angry too. "That's good... at least she's doing a little better." She let it at that, not knowing what else to say.

Ian nodded "I'm glad as well." His stomach growled, reminding him of his sporadic eating habits over the past week. He plucked a leaf from a nearby bush and began to chew on it slowly, staring at the dirt caked in his fur. "I really ought to get home and shower," he muttered not noticing that he had referred to the duplex as his home.

Amaya couldn't help but laugh a little as he realized how dirt caked he was. "Yeah, that would probably be good." She didn't mean for it to sound rude, more like jokingly. Standing, she gathered up her books. "Well, I should be heading back for some lunch. You wanna come along?"

Ian shrugged. "I can walk you to the cafeteria for your lunch. I can eat grass, since my priority is showering before going anywhere where I can potentially meet someone." He didn't like to admit it, but he was a tad vain and didn't want to be seen as dirty as he was. He smiled wearily. "Shall we go?"

"Sure." Amaya smiled and began walking back to the cafeteria with Ian, most of it being in silence since she couldn't think of much to say besides the usual "it's beautiful out here" and "the weather is really nice". As she got to her destination, she turned and gave a thankful nod to Ian. "Thanks. Take care, okay? I'll see you around." With one last smile she headed into the cafeteria for some lunch.

New RP!
Ambrose wandered out of his duplex the next morning, hands in his pockets and his mind deep in thought. He was dressed in just a short-sleeved shirt and shorts today - realizing quickly that long pants over fur was both itchy as well as sweltering. Despite efforts to mingle with the other Islanders since his transformation, Hargun's reaction had made him more anxious than he would have cared to admit. He had assumed that he would be in safe territory with anyone who had changed, epecially those who had already received their third injection, but he was been incorrect- and this made him question his assumption that at the very least, if he was turning into a freak and jailed on this Island, that at least the company he shared either sympathized or would come to do so once they learned that they were all in the same boat.
Looking around outside his duplex, Ambrose was about to head to his usual thinking spot on the beach, but, having left his fencing gear in the duplex (he honestly wan't in the mood - his muscles were still exceedingly sore and the heat of the Island had compounded since he grew a fur coat) - he turned instead to the leafy fortress that was the jungle. Remembering his last foray into the 'wild' and how he had mentioned that with his romantic notions of adventure that he should spend more time there (and a subtle whispering curiousity that came along with his new genes to the cooler woods) Ambrose turned and picked his way through a small path that led into the trees.
THe first thing he noticed was the smells - it was amazing! It was like he was seeing a world before him that had always been there but he had never noticed. Ambrose gaped in wonder as he could smell where animals had been, the scents of various types of plants. While he was certainly unpracticed in identifying what the scents belonged to - some scents conjured images... or feelings to him - some curiousity, some hunger....
And the sounds - the medly of birdcalls and insects, rustling in the underbrush. Before Ambrose really realized it, he was padding through the woods, awestruck as he let himself be led by the wonders of the natural world that had always been there.

Mornings, they were something of a mirricle every time one came. For Colche any way. The morning braught the bright medeteranian sunlight streaming through her windows, highlighting that long abused body, flowing over the jetblack river of hair and fluttering on soft eyelids. Eventually the light would convince her it was time to get up and she would quite hapily leave the confining sheets to explore the world she had been braught to.
The darkness has long faded away, though her dreams were haunted by the past, of the cold, , she had realised the dreams couldn't, or at least wouldn't hurt her physically. That she was infact in a new world where things were, to paraphrase, 'pretty'. Her life had infact taken a turn for the better and the genes of the cheetah which now cascaded through her blood made her wish to roam. Or at least know her territory. Of course, she couldn't put these ideas to words, but the beach had been discoverd, it was a good teritory, but there were usually lots of people there, it could be a rather daunting task. The cheetah unfortunately an unsocial animal certainly wasn't adept at dealing with groups. The child inside her though screamed for the company of others.
Today was her day for exploration. For sigh seeing, for veiwing more of her ever growing territory, every day she discoverd another inch that she could explore, that she could conqure, she took another step in to the wilds, where, for a time she obayed the quiet niggling of the femme cheetah and stayed to herself, contemplating everything, or perhaps nothing.
After dire consideration today she had decided to brave the jungle. She knew the path to the river, to the lake well by now, she had stepped along it's worn path, alone and with friends. Today, she left that path striking a course in to the cool, mottled darkness, breathing in the mornings rays, she even paused to lap a leaf of it's dewy moisture before starting to sing the one song she pretty much knew. Her voice was quiet and broken, but she was slowly, starting to learn all the words and though she forgot a few the tune was there and the familiar old nursery rhyme sang in tune with the mornings tropical bird songs.

As Ambrose wandered through the jungle, listening to the oddly soothing cacophony of songs of the jungle, a new sound reached his ears - something not of the jungle, but of a human voice. His ears swiveled towards the noise before his head did, bringing images of the shy girl Colche to his mind, as well as the gentle instruction that he had given her a few nights ago with the karaoke machine.
Turning back towards the way he came, Ambrose quietly headed towards the singing. As much as he appreaciated the time to explore and think... and as hesitant as Hargun's reaction had made him with seeing the islanders since his change, he couldn't deny his fondness for company - and from what he knew of Colche, while her reaction might very well be strange, it would not likely be one of fear.
His footsteps in the soft earth were much quieter than on tile where his claws clicked against the smooth, man-made surface, and he moved with an inherant grace - his athlete's training and practice melding smoothly with the precision and inborn dexterity of a wild predator, and while his mind was elsewhere, his steps over the brambles and through the underbrush were no where near as awkward a his last foray into the jungle
He emerged through a clump of bushes to see the young woman strolling down the path which, Ambrose realized with a surprise, he must have wandered off of without realizing. He smiled to her, his tail wagging instinctively.

Colche turned slowly. Her huge blue eyes met with the sight before her. But rather than looking frightend she simply smiled. Those huge deep pools looked on curiously as she stared at the creature before her, searching for something that she knew. She eventually found those eyes. the human sky blue eyes buried under the fur "Ambrose" she gave a teeny giggle padding up to him, her own foot falls were pretty silent, she had already started to gain the big cats silent stalking tactics, though she little knew it.
Fear was something she truely didn't hold for Ambrose, the tall blond haired man had given her nothing but kindness and seeing this transformation simply made her feel, if anything, more fondly of him. He partially reminded her of her rabbit, all fluffy and soft. Biting her tongue, her usual habbit when she went in to think mode she reached up to the taller man and wrapped her delecate fingers around one of those large fuzzy ears. A further giggle escaped her then "Ambrose pretty puppy" her brow creased, where had that word come from? She pulled her fingers away looking at her slender white fingers, the nails had yet to fully recover from a life in the dark, they were still ragged, though much stronger than they had been. Her eyes closed as she tried to remember the word, where had the word come from.
She shook her head and after a short pout she cast the word away. She knew, some how that ambrose was a 'puppy' or at least of the 'puppy' species, it didn't truely matter how she had gained the word. Her head tilted again in that kitty like manner as she looked upon the half wolf man with fully trusting eyes, with a sort of adoration that wasn't related to gender, or the sort of love that many on the islanders had for each other. It was almost a 'little sister' gaze of trust for the older male who was willing to watch over her and teach her. She bit her bottom lip then, eventually her tongue came out "Ambrose, 'Splore with.." she paused, it was almost as if she was trying to cross some severely mental barrier, trying to find the word that so desperately sat upon the end of an unwilling tongue "Me" She said after a long pause looking to him hopefully.

Ambrose's eyes sofened even more as Colche looked on him without a shred of fear, his tail wagging more confidently. "That's right" He whispered, touched with her reaction. "It's me, Ambrose." He stepped closer to her as she approached him, grateful for meeting her here and her strange mix of curiousity, trust, and wonder at his change.
He leaned into her touch on his fuzzy ears - it felt surprisingly nice, then he gaped in surprise at her declaration. Pretty Puppy? He was amazed that Colche drew the connection between his appearance and a canine - he didn't know she ha learned that, but then again - she seemed to be learning in leaps and bounds since she came here - and he was very glad to see it. He wanted to see her happy here - see the Island do someone some good at the very least - and he felt protective of her childlike nature. He gave a rueful smile, that would probably be lost on her. "Been talking to Greer?" He teased. "She's taken to calling me 'pup' as well.." he said with a small shake of his head. "But that's alright... I would much rather you see me as something like a puppy... friendly... than some sort of monster like I fear others might." He put a fuzzy padded hand on her shoulder with a proud smile that contained a small hint of sadness - acceptance of his condition was no easy fact. "But you think I'm still pretty...?" he was touched...
He smiled as she asked him to go with her through the woods. "I would love to explore with you, Colche." Then, to phrase it differently. "Yes - Ambrose explore with Colche. The Jungle." He gestured to the trees around them "can be pretty." he finished.

There were a whole lot of words in there that she simply let flow over her head. Sometimes ambrose was far too wordy for her, but the fact that he was coming exploring with her wasn't lost to her and she grinned broadly "Yay" she said simply her eyes crunching shut as she gave the larchest grin she could her features wrinkling in a delighted smile. She was still ultimately facinated by Ambrose's ears and she was very tempted to pet them again, they were so cute and fluffy to her, they simply facinated her and she was far from unwilling to tell him so "I.." she paused boting her tongue "like..ee..ars" her brow wrinkled, she was pretty sure that was right but she had to just double check with Ambrose. A strand of her jet black hair fell accross those cool, perfect blue eyes and she smiled.
Now that, that was said she certainly needed to think about todays task of exploring the new 'territory' "hmm" she looked thoughtful again, remembering she had come from that direction she pointed herself towards the darkness of the trees away from the lake and the river though she was possibly pointing herself along it's banks but further 'inland' so to speak. She turned to Ambrose one final time and reached out to htake one of his fuzzy little fingers pulling him in to the trees with a giggle "'splore" she said again, making sure he knew what they were doing. The cheetah in her scolded ehr for walking with a male when she wasn't in season, but the child which screamed for friends, for love and acceptance, giggled happily that it had found a cohort for it's new adventure.

Ambrose smiled at her compliment, but felt somewhat uncomfortable still with the presence of such an animalistic feature. However, that didn't stop them from lowering in gratitude at her words. "Thanks, Colche. I'm glad you like my ears." At least someone did.
"Yes!" He grinned to her, taking her hand with a conspiratory squeeze as he gestured with his other hand to the mysterious jungle. "Let's go see what's out there, yes?" He smiled to her as he gently began to lead her down to the path. Once again, he looked around the trees around them, his ears pricking as he lifted his nose to the wind. "This really is amazing.." He confided to her as they started walking. "I mean... as much as I don't like what's happening to me... this is fascinating..." He spoke to her, enjoying the company.

Colche giggles softly "Fas..ee..nay..Ting" she mimiked looking around at the leafy trees which dappled beautiful green golden shapes on to the ground at their feet. Something, perhaps it was that same instinct that told her that it was Ambrose beneath all that fuzz, told her that perhaps the blond man she had officially adopted as a big brother sindicayte wasn't too happy. For a long time she walked in silence beside the tall male, holding tightly to his hand before she addressed it "Ambrose, pretty, Always" She gives a very extreme nod, making sure her words were enforced, it had taken alot of her mental prowess to dig through the millions of jumbled words to find always and she had to make sure Ambrose knew what she thought.
A large, rather loud bird interrupted the quiet moment though and her gaze went upwards watching the multicoloured tropical bird flee through the greenery. She smiled softly, her big blue eyes happily gazing in to the skies watching the birds eventual vanishing flight "Always" Her attention came back to Ambrose then her deep blue orbs perfectly serious, she wanted to convey to him what she thought, and perhaps the simplicity of it was that to her, it didn't matter what he looked like,s he still knew it was him. The words weren't there to say it, but she hoped he would understand what she was saying. She wanted Ambrose to be happy. She liked it when he smiled and laughed and came exploring, to Colche theer was nothing better in the world than to explore with your big brother.

He smiled encouraging as she slowly pronounced the word. "That's right! Fascinating" He pointed around the woods, wondering if he could explain the word any better. "Something you want to know more about?" He smiled apologetically with a smile. Fencing was easy to teach for him - something he had the vocaulary to deal with, that he recalled very clearly both being taught as well as had assisted the instructor many times with instructing new members of the fencing club. He hoped that maybe that patience and desire to see people around her learn would bleed over into other venues.
He stopped, however, at Colche's second phrase and turned to her, swallowing a bit as he felt his eyes misting. "R.... really, Colche?" He was taken aback with the strength of her sentiment - knowing that she knew exactly what she was saying. She knew things were happening to them - she cared about him... and Ambrose's respect for the young woman grew in leaps and bounds - this statement confirmed that she really was bright... just had been denied opportunities that the rest of them had - as Aubrey had explained to him. And beyond that.... her kindness. "Colche... that means.... so much to me." He stepped forward, wrapping his arms around her in a hug. "Thank you." His tail wagged enthusiastically.
