Talathardon Yay! Finally a topic for me! I've been playing violin for 7 years now! Course, I'm in Australia, so our music education systems are very different (And undoubtedly vastly inferior) to the American systems. Meh. ninja stupid austrailians. DRIVE ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ROAD!!!!

DarkFlame230 SULU1 and Zombie dood I play the string bass witch is so much cooler than violins. Violins are evil yes, they are, but nobody will amit to it I know? I mean, can you use a violin, and a violin only, as a lethal weapon? I thot not.

S-midori Hey, I'm new to this guild. I play violin, guitar, and piano (I've taken violin lessons for 6/7 years now, but I taught myself guitar and piano so I'm not exceptionally good at either of those). Anyway, I started playing violin in a mandatory music class in sixth grade, but it's become the major passion in my life. I didn't make all-state ( crying ) but I am third chair in all-conference so that's ok. So do any of you guys play in a high school orchestra like me? I am in the highest level orchestra at our school, and have been since ninth grade, but I am only 5th chair. Most everyone in the orchestra is a good player, but I just don't get it--the second violin section doesn't seem to try very hard. It kind of frustrates me. Ah well, what can ya do. Anyway, do you orch. dorks share the same feeling? I was wondering if it's just me or if it is a problem in many orchestras. ya i play the violin 2. i agree about the 2nd violin part cause im 7th chair 1st violin and, especially in my orchestra, they dont try hard enough. sometimes i think that Orchestra would be better off without them.
