"Seriously, he could frost my cake any time! I don't mind being a little breathless, but being a lady, I prefer a bit of privacy, ya know?" Natsuki said, shamelessly giggling at Alex's frosting reference, shaking her head. The girls pace turned brisk as the more they chattered the faster their legs started moving. She could see his raevan beside the tank, appearing to make sure the doctor didn't abandon his post. The last time they'd met, he mentioned the familiarity her eyes, and was able to see the woman behind the big wigs and gothic lolita maid costume. At that time she wore her orange red hair down, in shaggy, wild layers. Would he be able to recognize her again this time, with the brunette wig and sunglasses, or would her eyes, again be the dead give away for him? Though she'd been running deliveries for Kyou, she had seen virtually nothing of Tsu for months and months, leaving her to wonder if he was engrossed in research or simply lost interest in her. "Part of me has the nagging suspicion that if it took getting in close proximity for you two to recognize me, it might require doing the same, to see if he does the same. Not that I wouldn't mind because when he looks me in the eyes, I feel like, he really sees all of me. If that makes any sense."

Instinctively, she went to fix her hair with her hands. Lucky for her, the finely crafted wig made her look good without the effort, and her arms looped with Alex and Jae kept her from being able to fidget too much

If a guy said 'Something about your eyes sets off my memories. The ones I hold dear.' would you take him seriously, or think he's merely using a line on you?" Natsuki asked the girls, replaying an old conversation which she held dear to her heart. The closer they got to the tank, more she wanted to chicken out and high tail it back to the house. "But I think I could handle a little greeting." Natsuki didn't want to laugh, but she felt like an eight grade girl getting ready to ask a boy to the dance because as we all know, some things required having your wing girls at hand.

"Well if it helps," he offered her a wiry smirk, tugging the brim of his hat. "I don't know anyone." But then he laughed good naturely, looking down at the femme feline from his yet uncovered eye. "Yeah. You know, I get that alot." The blond grinned, referring to his neckname. "Funny thing, right? Ebony Shade must have been a fun name growing up."

He had no way of knowing this might be the second time tonight he stepped on someone's toes. Poor Alistair.

“Yes, Josh is right and it is a pleasure to meet you Zanen.” Josh chortled in an attempt to assuage the remnants of embarrassment fluttering haphazardly in his stomach. He jested at the other two playfully, “It seems like we all are blushing tonight?” Rich chocolate locks splayed silkily over his eyes as he tilted his head down to get a closer inspection of the shorter pair facing him. Josh nervously flipped the small veil of hair back into place with his hand which was not burdened by the dollar store crystal ball.

A single, slender brow rose in question or perhaps in challenge as her steel gaze grew rather eerie in the dimly lit room, making one take a double look to see that she indeed was human and not some cat hybrid. ”Whatever do you mean?” Although she knew exactly what the man meant, Ebony wanted to hear it for herself. Have Alastair make it real and tangent so that she may possibly use it against him…if she so chose to. She was proud and even prouder to be a Shade, more than anyone could ever understand. Or…would possibly ever know.

Shuhei was late as usual. He had been in half a mind not to come, Halloween parties tended to fall into two catagories. Girls in sexy 'vampire or devil' outfits or bad hair and bad costumes. He had a feeling this could be the latter. Buuut Natsuki had begged him to show and here he was.

His costume had taken some thought. He did not do tacky two bit costume shop creations, and nothing that would make him look stupid. God forbid. So, he made his way up the path, towards a bunch of people he didn't know dressed as Military Elvis, complete with a genuine 1950s US army uniform, sunglasses and funny hat.

"Hey." he said as he walked up to the people at the entrance, showing little regard for the conversation they might have been having. "Is Natsuki around?"

The candy man smiled in a friendly sort of way, missing the dangerous cue in his tiny, cheerful world. "My sisters and I were Alice, Sam, Jo, and Benny growing up. People never believed us when we told them so. I thought maybe you might have had the same problem."

The call from Natsuki about a lost jacktopuss, as well as the squeal of delight from Jae, had both gone terribly and tragically unnoticed. Both were said out out of the earshot of the chimera's owner, you see. She was on the other side of the room, near the Contortionist game... and hunkered down to the floor on all fours. The jacktopuss was squishy enough to squeeze into just about anything, so maybe...

A familiar, burbly mewling finally gets her attention. If it weren't for the fact that hers was painted orange, Mouse would have rubbed her eyes and wondered if she were seeing double. "Oh, there you are... no wonder you were getting so fussy!" the horseman chuckled in relief. She picked herself up, dusted herself off and headed towards Head-mitri and his new what she hoped would be friend. This one was smaller and paler, and a few small features that she only noticed because they weren't on Mitya gave her the notion that this one was a girl.

Finally being set back on the ground and having rested enough to get moving again, Headmitri all but flew over to the new chimera that he'd been looking for. He greeted Mitya-also with a playful kind of meow that he had never used among humans -- as well as with a joyous tackle.

"I'sa pleasure to meet you too, Josh," Zanen smiled. She positively nearly laughed as she watched Josh inspecting Namini, fixing his veil back in place as he did so. Dark eyes twinkling in wicked amusement, Zanen looked for something she could do as to not disturb the pair, but still stay somewhere close enough where she could keep an eye on them...

Her eyes landed at the doorway--attracted by a glimpse of movement. A new male entered through the entrance, wearing an army uniform complete with sunglasses and a hat. She watched him make his way over to the little "congregation" by the entrance--which still included Zanen at the moment.

He was asking about someone named Natsuki--and as the only two names she was familiar with was "Namini" and "Josh," she was quite sure that she hadn't met this particular person yet.

Zanen blinked slowly answering with, "I'm sorry? I've never met this Natsuki yet, but perhaps Namini or Josh might be able to enlighten you on the topic."

Something of a form of uninterest took hold of her as she placed her lips back to the half-eaten caramel apple she’d left forgotten at the beginning of the conversation. This one wasn’t very smart or maybe he was just a bit oblivious to things. It was of no matter now, Ebony was beginning to feel her initial attraction to the ‘gangster’ man fading. After a long chew and a slow swallow, “Can’t say I do. I was what you would refer to as…home schooled…” It wasn’t a total lie, but it wasn’t exactly the truth either. Her adoptive father had taught her many, many things, but how to cope with the taunting of other children never came up. This could possibly be a very good answer to why Ebony was not well at interacting with others.

She couldn't say for certain, but Alex had thought that the man to sweep Natsuki off her feet would be...debonair, a gentleman, a grounded but fun-loving soul to her spotlight and theatrical manner. Somehow, the man in the tank didn't quite strike her as such; in fact, he seemed rather rough around the edges, and it was hard to tell if that was because of his costume or not. That very thought made her lips pull into an involuntary smile, deeply amused.

"That's a toughie," she continued in her snake-like persona, "because dear memories to a boy can be of his mother." She rolled her eyes and offered a sideways smirk to Natsuki, teasing the obviously flustered woman. The older of the three woman cocked her head to the side, black strands of hair whispering across her arched brows. "Red is a nice color on you. Would you like my dress to match?"

Now she was just being merciless. She couldn't help but jest with the normally composed and in-control Natsuki, who seemed to be dragging her feet the closer they got to the Tsu fellow. Alex found herself somewhat eager to meet the man who had shaken Natsuki's unwavering foundation.

Oh dear. Those tentacled beasts seemed to be multiplying. Bauta peered closer, trying to stay out of the way, but concerned about the welfare of the party-goers should they turn out to be wicked carniverous things. It was the season of man eating beasts, was it not? Between the very realistic floating balloon people and the rather sinister decorations, it wouldn't be out of the realm of possiblity that someone had thrown real Halloween monsters into the mix.

He needed to find Alastair immediatly. If anything was going to eat people at this party, the candymaker would find a way to put himself right into its jaws with a happy little smile.

Now it was Alistair's turn to quirk an eyebrow. Something about the way she'd said it set off something sleeping in the back of his mind. Alice wasn't a cop anymore, and as much as he loved what he did, the transition had been hard. His oblivious and often lumbering nature was, if he was going to be completely honest about it, an overreaction to the situation. He'd lived his life being suspicious of people, and trying to hear the hidden words beneath what they were saying. But what was the point of any of that now? Just be happy, you big lumox. You're not much of a detective anymore.

The flash of suspicion that narrowed his eyes for a moment vanished with the mental tongue lashing, and all of a sudden, so did his good humor. The events of the night stacked in a vicious, teetering tower that crushed his will to try anymore.

He adjusted the rim of his hat again, this time freeing up the playfully hidden eye, his mouth turning down so that the scar on his lips seemed more dour than cute. "Home schooled," he repeated, as if tasting the phrase.

Roux gave a sublime and heavily smile, truely angelic as he bowed his head toward Sevilin in appreciation. The compliment was well taken and well deserved, if Roux could say so. As for the question of other Raevens.. Roux turned his head slightly, deftly pointing toward the floating masked figure beside Aphismet.

"There."

Frightened? Of phoney cobwebs and plastic spiders? Sevilin didn't have much courage, did he... A malicious, very un-angelic idea formed in Roux's mind. Now he'd just have to wait for the oportune moment..

Before the female catopuss could react too much Headmitri was pouncing! She brought at least three tentacles upward into the air, readying to play-fight back. She wrapped her paw-tentacles about the orange panted catopuss, playfully biting an ear as she tumbled back effectivly forming a rather squishy, rather softly fuzzy ball of waving pawtacles. She gave a burbly mewl of greeting.

”Yes, with my father. He was very strict in his teachings, so it left little time for…childish whims.” And when it looked that she was bored again, did a smile revive her spirits as a thought had passed. Father Shade shaking his head at his daughter his cheeks red with anger and embarrassment for her. As is if she’d ever been truly embarrassed. ”He would have been beside himself if he could see me now. At a Halloween party and dressed like a cat of all things.” A light chuckle left her rosey lips and echoed throughout the kitchen softly.

"There are worse things to dress up as." Alistair said resonably, although the cheery note had abandoned his voice, leaving it a deeper calm that better reflected his actual age, rather than the shoe-size he often acted. "Cat's are at least cunning."

It was a wonder that human beings, when given the option, preferred to lie by ommission, or bend the truth, rather than come out with an outright falsehood. And while he hardly thought she owed a perfect stranger any explinations about anything, he wondered why she'd bother lying to one in any fashion.
