Artemis12

Past the point of no return,
no turning back now!
You're finally there,
at the gates of Hell!

Past the point where hatred burns!
there's only passion!
Now you must know:
with whom does your heart dwell?

lol!

|If you need me|

That is so awesome! You are the best! I wish these lyrics had been in the musical.

|I shall be in Australia!|

Darkk_Storm_Warning
This is from the orginal with Sara Brightman and Mike Crawford.
"What a change you're really not a b***h"

Actually, I do believe it's:
"What a change, you're really not a bit, the gawkish girl that once you were..."

Erik is mine!

Pity comes to late! turn your back around and wait an eternity of this before your eyes!-- i love that one 'tis my favorite of all the quotes i could possibly think of heart
I was listening to my soundtrack, and then I read that at the exact same time.

That's creepy.
Hmm...
My favorite line-
Susan Kay's when he's talking about he doesn't deserve a kiss something like-
"It's not my birthday, and I haven't been good."
I can't remember the words, I feel ashamed.
XD

Actually, it goes:

"Pity comes too late, turn around and face your fate--an eternity of this before your eyes!"

My favorite lin would have to be
"You'd never get away
with all this in a play,
but if it's loudly sung
and in a foreign tongue,
it's just the sort of story
audiences adore,
in fact, a perfect opera!"

But tell me, is there anyone else who sees it as the managers referencing the play itself that they are in or is it just me?

I doubt it, they are mostly likely referring to Don Juan because it is so...so...different than what they usually do. But just reading it again, the last three lines could very well be a referance to the musical...

Actually, what they were referring to was all the drama they had surrounding the incidents with the Phantom and their accusations that Raoul had slept with Christine and was trying to further her career because of it. Such things had never really been the subject of an Opera or Operetta. And the "If it's loudly sung.." bit is referring to that most people didn't care about the story, just the music.

Hehe...
Finally found out my favorite quote from the musical.
"In all your fantasies,
You always knew...
That man and mystery-
Were both in you.
And in this labyrinth,
Where night is blind.
The Phantom of the Opera is here/there inside my mind."

RAOUL (despairing)-Christine, forgive me please forgive me . . . I did it all
for you, and all for nothing . . .
CHRISTINE (looking at the PHANTOM but to herself)-Farewell my fallen idol
and false friend . . . One by one I've watched illusions shattered . . .
PHANTOM-Past all hope of cries for help: no point in fighting -
RAOUL-Either way you choose, he has to win . . .
PHANTOM-For either way you choose, you cannot win! So, do you end
your days with me, or do you send him to his grave?
RAOUL (to PHANTOM)-Why make her lie to you, to save me?
CHRISTINE-Angel of Music . . .
PHANTOM-Past the point of no return -
RAOUL-For pity's sake, Christine, say no!
CHRISTINE-. . . why this torment?
PHANTOM-. . . the final threshold . . .
RAOUL-Don't throw your life away for my sake . . .
CHRISTINE-When will you see reason . . .?
PHANTOM-His life is now the prize which you must earn!
RAOUL-I fought so hard to free you . . .

I have got to say the trio part was my favorite song of the movie... I thought it was funny when Raoul said "I fought so hard to free you." Anyways.... yup! blaugh

A lot of lines are quite wonderfully pervy out of context...

"You shall know me." - AoM
"In dreams he came..." - PotO
"Come on, come on! Don't stop! Don't stop!" -WC

Quote:
"Pity comes too late, turn around and face your fate--an eternity of this before your eyes!"

Which also makes the best flubbed line ever when the Phantom accidentally says, "...an eternity of this before your thighs!"

I've always thought the, "But if it's loudly sung," bit pretty ironic coming from Webber.

~Think I would die~

"Moncharmin, I've had enough of this!"
"Richard, I've had too much of it!"
"Do you dare to suspect me?"
"Yes, of a silly joke."
"One doesn't joke with twenty-thousand francs."

=============================================

"A safety pin!...somebody give me a safety pin!"

=============================================

"Of course!" exclaimed Richard, looking a little pale. "It's very clever of O.G. The problem which he had to solve was this: how to do away with any dangerous intermediary between the man who gives the twenty-thousand francs and the man who recieves it. And by far the best thing he could hit upon was to come and take the money from my pocket without my noticing it, as I myself did not know it was there. It's wonderful!"

"Oh, wonderful, no doubt!" Moncharmin agreed. "Only, you forget, Richard, that I provided ten-thousand of the twenty and that nobody put anything in my pocket!"

Wee more quotes!

Erik- "Why so silent, good messiurs? Did you think that I had left you for good? Have you missed me, good messiurs? I have written you an opera. And here I bring the finished score, DON JUAN TRIUMPHANT!"

"A dark and towering shadow, rising like a phoenix from the ashes...manevolent... omnipotent... The Phantom of the Opera!"

"The more I thought about it, the more I liked the idea. The corps de ballet were already calling me "the Phantom of the Opera," an intriguing soubriquet which appealed to me very strongly, until I realized that it would mean signing my ransom notes P.T.O. One did not wish to descend to the ridiculus!"

Ah, Kay's most famous screw-up. xD

He wouldn't have signed his notes P.T.O. at all, because he would have been writing in French. 'Phantom of the Opera' in French is 'Fantome de L'Opera', which abbreviates to something like 'F de L'O'.
