The crew member went down, leaving the pair.

That was, if he'd actually bothered to look at her.

"It seems you are not as dense as you appear. Pray tell, what makes you say that?"
She ignored Ranu's stepp closer, assuming that he merely was smitten with her. Storm was like that, sometimes.

Ranu finally looked at Storm for a second as he spoke, "How can anyone expect to be trusted by the elements to command and control them, if the elements can clearly see you cannot even control yourself. When angry, you will act rasher than if calm."
With that said, the teenage male looked over her shoulder again. His eyes narrowed further as he tried to squeeze more distance on his already far improved eyesight.

Ranu swore angerily, moving his head to the other side, leaning further forwards to try and see. His cheak brushed close to Storm's. "They are. They're sentient beings with good and evil intentions. Thats why there is a good and evil branch of magic. The person casts magic by calling on the spirits for help. What you casts depends on who heard you."

Storm tensed up reflexivly and balled her hands into fists to keep them from shoving Ranu out of the crow's nest. She did not liked to be touched very often. Storm forced that relentless cheer in her voice to sound naturale.
"I've never heard it explained to me in such a way before. What would the forces of nature have to gain from evil intention?"

"I would say 'amusement' personally." Ranu replied as he watched the ship. The Pearl was already heading towards it, so there was no need to change heading and warning crew would cause panic. "But yes. Magic is a complex thing with emotions. Usually it responds to the casters emotions. Lets say I cast a spell in a sad mood, my magic, too would be depressed."
