So the walls came tumbling down And your love's a blown out candle All is gone and it seems too hard to handle Chiquitita, tell me the truth There is no way you can deny it I see that you're oh so sad, so quiet

She came from Madrid, just a crazy kid met her down i Cadiz. Think you know where that is? I´d been travelling far, playing my guitar. Pulling senoritas, They said I played like Manitas. Looking for a few pesetas, took a job as a singing waiter and drank tequila, danced the night away. I sprawled across the table making love to a spanish Belly Grable I never did get, you know the ladys name.

My Lady D'Arbanville Why does it grieve me so? But your heart seems so silent Why do you breathe so low? Why do you breathe so low?
I loved you my Lady Though in your grave you lie I'll always be with you This rose will never die This rose will never die

The scarlet rose has died. Lost inside the night. Left in my mind like a dream all full of pride. The scarlet rose has died.

Have you seen the old man in the closed down market kicking up the papers with his worn out shoes ? In his eyes you see no pride, hand held loosely by his side yesterdays paper telling yesterdays news

I hear the drizzle of the rain like a memory it falls soft and warm continuing tapping on my roof and walls
And from the shelter of my mind through the window of my eyes I gaze beyond the rain drenched streets to England where my heart lies
