A muscle group next to Natalia's right eye twitched in response where she remained silent for a few moments. "We can talk about the finer points of piloting latter. For now lets just get this thing inside before someone decides to ticket me for illegal trash dumping." Natalia said, pushing the topic aside instead of grabbing Bob and shaking him, which was what would happen if they continued down this particular line of conversation. "If you have enough control to put your thrusters on minimal lift for a couple minutes I've got a couple labor droids that can probably push it inside. She said, gesturing to the blank way they had pulled up in front of. The actual entrance to her shop was on the other side but the ship certainly wouldn't have fit in there.

After nodding, bob re-donned his interface, and set the ship to as low powered thrust as he could, letting out a sigh of relief as it lifted only a meter or 2 from the ground, " ready when you are" I seem to be hitting all the wrong button with this person.....I wonder why?

((cuz shes a touchy spaz biggrin )) Natalia traded her data pad for what looked like a larger more complex one and started typing codes. Instead of splitting in a dramatic fashion or something of that nature the wall opened straight up and several ship service bay droids came lumbering out and set about the task of moving the ship inside. They were very expensive units and not very practical for her normal occupation but there owner had defaulted on payment for repairs and she had yet to sell them. Once they had maneuvered the craft inside and moved back she turned her attention back to bob. "Okay, let it down gently. The floor is reinforced but I don't want to test if the builder was skimming on supply quality or not." She said evenly.

As he heard the instructions, Bob tried his best to follow them, however....since he made the ship out of spare parts (none of which included landing gear) his best was to lower the ship to about a meter, turn up the intertial dampners and shields, cut the power to all other systems, and hope for the best. this resulted in a slight tremor as it set down. " um....we're down? whoooo! I got a soft landing!" after powering the ship down, Bob threw his hands up into the air, going "whoooo!" once more before slipping off his gloves and helmet and turning to natalia, " so, now what?"

"We get to work, unless you need to eat or something." Natalia said with a grin, her fingers just aching to start. Still it was Bob's ship and she knew she'd have to play nice if she wanted to study it properly.

after a few moments of thinking, Bob shook his head, " food can wait, I'd rather see what you think of my overhaul of the escape pod 'bob' and how I managed to integrate it's components and what I salvaged from the remains of 'shard's luck'. "
((go ahead and make a knowledge of history check, rofl shards luck was the ship of a pirate crew of some renown, not great, but still rather feared....and yes, I did make it up for my character's bio.))

((haha! as a fifth level tech specialist with a +10 skill and intelligence bonus I succeed easily! okay enough d20 nerding out...)) Natalia smiled brightly as she showed Bob the lay out of her shop. Her tools were carefully organized on either a peg board or in one of her many wheeled tool chests. It was an old fashion way of doing it but there really wasn't a better one as far as she was concerned. Her heavier equipment was kept in an storage area sectioned off from the rest of the shop by visa steel (or whatever its actually called). Using the bay droids it was a matter of minutes before she had everything in place and prepared to use. With the heavy lifting out of the way she activated the more powerful set of overhead and ambient lights along with a set of camera droids and set to work. With the one camera droid scanning the outer hull and the other monitoring her work Natalia wasn't concern about missing anything. "Wow...what grade laser cutter were you using, a 180? These edges are really inconsistent..." "You can't cram relays in together like this or the coolant system...Oh wait, I see it now." "Why did you use this instead of the original pod part? It would have cut back the power consumption by 3.8% at least...." Natlia kept on muttering in that fashion as she worked, only half listening to any answers provided and often cutting off mid sentence as a new thought occurred to her or she realized the answer on her own.

As bob listened to the questions, he answered each one in turn, " um....laser cutter? I used this one!" at that, Bob pulled out a hand made (as well as shoddy and bulky) laser cutter fashioned from what used to be a blaster pistol and a laser cutter. as the question on the origional pod part cropped up, Bob tilted his head, " um....I don't know what they give out for free on normal pods these days...or when this one was made, but that piece was just kinda missing....or was that the one I blew up by accident...."

With her cursory inspection done Natalia scuttled out from inside and then out from under the ship, covered in seven kinds of fluid with several tears in her coveralls and an almost angelic expression of happiness on her face. "I have no idea how you survived in this thing and I cant wait to find out how." She said, her voice almost as dreamy as her expression. "Lets get something to eat first though. This is going to be an all nighter." She said, walking briskly toward the hall that connected the workshop to the store that also contained the stairs to her room and the door to what would soon be Bobs. Normally she wouldn't have stopped for something as unimportant as food but she had a guest to think of and needed to do some parts research and ordering before she could get going in earnest.

As they break for food, Bob lets out a yell, and throws his hands up in the air, " whooo! foood! I'll bet it's better than those 20 year old emergency rations I've been eating...." he then followed natalia around to the kitchen (or whatever it is).

(think studio apartment decorated like a hospital room) "Yah, its fresh in a manner of speaking." She popped a couple of 'qwik-meals' in the heater and went over to her personal computer. It wasn't a particularly impressive looking unit but it was what was inside that mattered, not the casing. Next to it was a data card holder that took up most of the wall. It was practically the only source of color in the room aside from a few ship models in display niches and a single photograph by the bed. Her cataloguing system included every color of the visible spectrum. Once the food was ready she sat down on the white couch and started eating. For all of her lack of social grace she had impeccable manners when it came to eating. The food was better then twenty year old rations but not by a particularly wide margin, unless you were talking about nutrient content.

After a few tentative pokes, Doc bob digs into the food like a ravenous wolverine....at least, for the first few seconds, before he notices natalia's impeccable manners and begins to imitate them. let's see, what was that old saying? when in a podrace, do as podracers do. yes....well, let's just apply that to whatever I need....if there is some custom I seem to be missing, I'm sure someone will tell me....or laugh...hmm...the food is pretty good....much better than those rations, but not quite as good as the fresh cooked stuff back home....eh, who am I to complain? I'm a moocher! as for this place, I wonder if all homes on this world are like this....its so....clean...I feel like my very presence taints it's hallowed halls....

Once Natalia was done with hers she tossed the container in the trash and went to sit at her computer. A few seconds into her research she remembered Bob. "You can have more if you like, just hit the fourth preset button on the heater. Or watch the trivid feed or something..." It didn't take her long to realize that her apartment didn't offer much in the way of amusement for anyone but herself. "Do you have a data pad?" She asked suddenly as an idea occurred to her.

After finishing his food and following natalia's example of trash disposal, Bob looked over at her, trivid? heater? well, I guess the heater is that thing that cooked the food...and the trivid....huh, no idea.... " datapad? yes, of course....its...kinda old....and...reassembled...but I do indeed have a datapad." after fishing around in his pocket for a few minutes, doc bob pulls out what looks like the parts of 5 different versions of datapad spliced together, with a few droid parts thrown in for good measure. "um....the main question is, will they be compatable?"

"The phrase hell no comes to mind but..." Natalia eyed the data pad almost as dubiously as she had Bob's ship. After a few seconds of consideration she took a blank data card out of one of her desk drawers and handed it to him. "Down load your system files to this and I'll see what I can do. Hardware is easy enough to fix but the real problem will be its operating system." She said then turned to dig around in another drawer to locate the trivid remote. A system analysis might take a while.
