Suki's eyes widened when the food appeared on the table. "Food..." she whispered to herself. She waited for everybody to get what they wanted patiently, taking a scoop of potatoes and grabbing a roll. She listened to the conversation about Potter coming to Hogwarts. "Who cares..It's just another kid.." she mumbled, knowing nobody could hear her anyway over the loud chatter in the Great Hall.

"Really?" he said, turning his head towards her Slytherin sister. "Not only am I noticed, I have a fan club! Today is just FULL of surprises, and not all of them good." He jerked his head towards Harry Potter, who was sitting with the Weasley's. "Make up your own mind about that one, but I quite frankly don't want the kind of attention someone famous like that will bring. I'm...better away from hype like that."
The food appear and his food grumbled softly. A home cooked meal, and a good one at that. He was finally home. He had found a friend, so he kept the solitary tear from sliding down his cheek, but he was overjoyed nonetheless.
"I'd almost forgotten how good this was," he said as he grabbed a drumstick off a turkey. "Anything you want that isn't down here, you can probably get by asking down the table." He piled on some mashed potatoes before passing them to Rose. "And don't worry, I don't judge you on your family, and if your sister was wondering, I don't judge based on house, either. You both get a fair chance to show me that you're good people, and you're doing a really good job so far."

((sorry comp was acting up. stupid piece of prehistoric wires stare im at grandparenst house btw lol))
Nikol let out a small sigh and played with the salad on her plate. She noticed a Malfoy at her table and already thought it would be a bad year.
Rose laughed. "It's for reasons like this she likes you." Noticing what she meant she looked over at him. "He's kinda cute... But the attention thing? Thats a load of dung." She rolled her eyes. "I have never been in the center of attention nor do I wanna be anywhere near it." She took some meat that she wasn't sure what exactly it was. None the less she took a bite and grinned. Setting her fork down she took some mashedpotatoes. "Thanks, I'll keep that in mind." She smiled at him and went back to eating. This was going to be a good year for her.

Ron grinned as the food matrialized in front of them. "Finally, I'm starved!" he informed as he immediately reached over and around to grab the food he wanted.
"Well, congratulations for making it into Gryffindor Harry." George took his hand and shook it. "We're glad that you decided to come over to our side."
"Yeah," Fred said over his shoulder. "Wouldn't do well to give the other houses to get more attention than us, would it?"
"No, not at all." George agreed. "You can be our protoge!"
"Oh giff it a res' wi'' you?" Ron complained around the stuffed food in his mouth. He swallowed quickly and continued. "Just let him eat without you two harping on 'im."
"Poor Ronikins is just sad we accepted you before him." Fred grinned and winked. "Don't let it get to you."
((You know, I'm going to change mine here, orange is annoying to read.))
Anna was at a very convinient spot. The one thing about never being talked to or noticed, was that you could listen to the conversations around you withou being accused of evesdropping. She was at the side of the Hufflepuff table that was closest to the Gryffindor table (I'm going by the book here. It goes Griffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and then Slytherin, in the order) right between the familiar group of Red-heads and the black haired boy and another group of people she had never met before. She could hear all the conversations behind her, and could figure out that this Harry Potter fellow was pretty famous... but for what? Great, another thing about the wizarding world she was missing out on. If only she had been paying attention at the sorting, then she would know what everyone was talking about.
She looked up across the table to the back of Suki's form. She hoped that she was doing well... she would go over, but she wasn't sure if kids were allowed to get up to other tables... that other girl and hads sort of sneaked over.
She looked at her food. It must have cooled down enough by now, it should have been safe to eat.

Suki sat still after she finished her helping, sipping Pumpkin Juice every now and then, but listening to the excited conversations about Potter, classes, seeing old friends again, and so on. She frowned, wanting to go sit with her friend and thanking that boy..maybe going to sleep. She smiled at the thought of sleeping. She got up then, making her way to the other side of the Hufflepuff table to talk to Anna. "Hey, Anna." She smiled as she knelt down behind her. "How's it?"

He rolled his eyes. He knew what it would've been like if someone who had never had a decent meal in their life sat down to this table; he had nearly been there himself. The Weasly kid was making an absoulte fool of himself, though. He looked down at his plate, which he had started to load with his second helping, suddenly thinking. It was a bit spontaneous for him, but he wasn't used to sharing his habits with a friend.
"I can take you to go see Malric after you finish eating," he told Rose. "I know the password, and nobody will think it too strange, I'm always up there early anyways. You can just blend in with the other first years when they show up."

Nikol finished since she wasn't really hungry. Writting a note for her sister she walked by her table tossed it to her and headed for the dungeons. She had overheard the password from a Slytherin prefect and wanted to settle in before everyone else.
"I'd really like that." She nodded her head and went back to eating. She hadn't piled that much food ont o her plate so she finished quickly. Noticing the note she tapped it figuring if she should open it here or there. "Whenever your ready." She smiled back up at him.

He finished his half plate and downed one more helping of pumpkin juice before motioning for her to follow him. It was easy for him to not be noticed, but he wondered how inconspicuous she would be. Slipping out of the Great Hall, he showed her the quick way to the Gryffindor Common Room.
"Watch out for that suit of armor, Peeves likes to had there," he told her on the way. He was pointing things out to her as they went, hoping she would remember. "This stair is a trick stair, it'll hold your foot if you step on it and you'll have to wait for somebody to pull you out." "Make sure this staircase is pointing this way, it likes to move."
They finally arrived at the Common room, and after giving the Fat Lady the password (too lazy to look it up at school, sorry), he motioned for her to go inside. As he suspected, Malric was resting in front of the fireplace. He was excited to see Alex, and he wagged his tail when he saw Rose.
"Rose," he said gently. "This is Malric."

Rose slipped out right behind him. She nodded her head and put everything to memory that he told her. She knew she'd need it eventually. When they got to the common room she smiled. "Can I pet him?" She knew it would be polite to ask first then do.

As if in response, Malric walked over to her slowly and nuzzled her hand. Alex laughed. "He seems to really like you. I don't see him around other people much; the common room gets too crowded for him and he usually slinks off to bed." He kneeled down beside Malric and scratched him behind the ear. "I brought you something." He pulled a turkey leg from his robes, and immediately the wolf snatched it and carried it to the fireplace to eat.

She smiled and scratched him behind the ears. "He's cute. Oh right!" She pulled out the note and sniffed it. "No lavendar? Odd..." She went to go open it and burnt her self. "Bloody hell!" She growled. Tapping it with her wand she mumbled a few words. "Chamera core." The note opened and she read it aloud forgetting Alex for a second.
"Hide. Malfoy's. Stay by Alex. Danger..." Her voice trailed off. This was bad news.

"You all don't like the Malfoy's either? They seem a bit...wait a second....." Realization began dawning on him. "Malfoy's kid is in Slytherin, isn't he....do you think she's afraid he'll pass on word that you're in Gryffindor?"

She nodded her head and played with a strand of purplish hair. "De Winter's and Malfoy's have a... Shady past together. And with the Malfoy's comes Bellatrix. Or Lucius... I don't want to know what will happen if mum and dad find out..." How could she have him trust her without telling him her family history? If he ever found out, her and her sister would lose their only possible friend.
(i hate grabbing something and opening it and taking a bit to realize its not what you thought it was but you hafta eat it or youll get in trouble... stare )
