Jaise smiled and laughed too. Then he looked at Ergo. "Yeah, sorry about that. I feel better now. Oh, that reminds me." He took out the empty antidote bottle, and set it on the ground. "There, I took the antidote before you came out to the grounds, Kayce." He smiled at her.

"I'm not stupid you know. I can see that you people want to be alone. So....i'm gonna go be bored somewhere else. Call me when your done ok? Its so boring here. Just shout I'll be in range." Ergo got up and walked into the night. He found a tall oak and quickly climbed up. He sat perched up at the top. Listening to the bats fly around, and the crickets chirp.

"Yes, I would like to know your past." Jaise helped KC sit on the ground, and he held both of her hands. "Now concentrate, focus, and open your mind to me, my beloved." He said, closing his eyes, and breathing in and out evenly.

{The line of the story that I have presented:} KC opened one eye at 'my beloved', but quickly closed it and concentrated. ((Check this out. I wrote this along time ago and I've been waiting to use it. Hope ya'll like it!))
It was a long time ago. She could see it all very clearly. A stream of blood flowing, gushing, from her body. The murderer was standing over her, weilding the knife, ready to slash again. The woman let out one final scream, and the echo faded away into silence. The man cackled with drunken delight, and laid next to her on the floor. He fell into a fitful slumber, for she watched him toss and turn. As he awoke the next mourning, and saw the blood covering his own body, he screamed out of pure horror. He had sworn to himself he would never do it again, but he had. He found the knife laying on floor beside her, and he quickly did himself in. The blade dropped, ever so slowly, until *CLINK*, it hit the floor. There was a moment of quiet. The little girl came out of the closet, decided what she had to do, and left. She left the house, her home, and ran. She ran as far as her little legs would take her. But she knew it was her fault her father had killed her. She knew that there was nothing she could have done to save her mother. She untied her cloak and took off her backpack, setting them carefully on the ground. She sat, sobbing, rubbing her little black wolf ears. Behind her, her tail twitched and sobbed harder. She pulled out the knife that her father had used, and quickly slashed her own throat. The girl watched with tear-filled eyes as the blood mixed with water on her hands. Then it all went black.
KC opened her eyes, shaking. She had relived it many times, but never that vividly. "That ending... It always ends like that. It's true for the most part, though. After that, I vowed to be happier with myself." {Fall is just something that grownups invented.}

Jaise instinctively reached out, and wrapped his arms around KC, holding her tightly. "I'm so sorry you had to go through that." Jaise stroked her tail gently, and nuzzled at her ears. "It's alright. You have nothing to fear. I'm here now, to protect you."

{The line of the story that I have presented:} KC felt safe in Jaise's arms, but his hand was dangerously close to her rear. She flicked her tail away. "Thanks. My mom did tell me once that she had been a little worried about marrying him, 'cause he had a reputation for killing his wives if they displeased him, but she did anyway, and looked where that got her!" She was shaking again, but this time with anger. "I wish I could have killed him first, but I don't think I could have done it." {Fall is just something that grownups invented.}

"What was his name?" asked Ergo in a calm voice. "Sorry I heard, but I heard your thoughts as if you were screaming in my....well metaphorical ear." He stood a few feet behind the pair.

Jaise held KC to him, and stroked her back lightly. "You could've. You're strong, and determined." Jaise moved so that he was facing KC, and kissed her on the lips. Not caring whether or not she liked it. Looking at her once she was done, he said, "I love you."

{The line of the story that I have presented:} KC was speechless. She had no idea where this had come from. But she didn't seem to mind. She stared at him for a moment then kissed him back. She pulled away and whispered, "I love you, too." She kissed him again. {Fall is just something that grownups invented.}

Jaise didn't care about his past, or what he did back then. All he cared about now was KC, and being here with her. He was now her Guardian and boyfriend. He was happy, and Jaise could tell that KC was happy as well.

"Heh" chuckled Ergo. Youd think they were blind. Best leave them be. Though that thought-image KC had was strong, it could wait. Best leave them alone. He turned around and began to walk away.
