Malaryush Peppermint Elf I bought and read the first one, then I donated it to the library. So uh.... try the local public library? Hopefully, you'll have people in your town like me who just donate their books instead of just throwing them out.... or leaving them in some dusty bin. sweatdrop Hmm...worth a shot. Sadly, I don't even know where the public library is, since I always use the University library. The latter doesn't really stock much for recent fiction, though, unless it's on the reading list for a particular class, and then it's often reserved for people enrolled in said class. eek Uh... look one up in the phone book? sweatdrop

Peppermint Elf eek Uh... look one up in the phone book? sweatdrop xd Yeah, I'm sure I can figure out where it is... I just think it's a bit peculiar that I don't already know. However, I do seem to recall it being somewhere fairly far away. sweatdrop I might hit the used book stores too, in case I can find the books for something a bit cheaper than the cover price.

Streamjumper Phoenix315 Shoujo Phoenix Streamjumper Phoenix315 Streamjumper So have you heard about the new big stink in the fansubbing world yet? With animesuki? And a few of the fansub groups. What happened? confused As far as I know, they've received "cease and desist" notices from a lawyer claiming to represent an animation company, but I'm not positive. sweatdrop I've been following it, and the letter is reputable. The company is MFI and they're the creators of Genshiken and School Rumble as well as Gankutsuou. Apparently, what set them off is that one of their OVAs (Akane Maniax) was released on fansub sites before its dvd street date. They are rightly pissed about its impact on their product's sales... I've been worrying about when one of the fansub groups was going to overstep the patience of the industry... Apparently this is it. Animesuki is toeing the line by considering their shows licensed and removing it, but Scarywater is keeping the links up and WannabeFansubs is playing a game that could result in very bad things for fans... both for fansubbing and licensed products... Needless to say there's a lotta fans whining about being denied their "right" to free anime. Feh. On some fronts, I'm semi-glad it's come to this, because now the n00btaku may learn that fansubs are indeed illegal. I had a feeling it'd come to something like this relatively soon. At JTAF (Japan Town Anime Faire), I asked co founder of ADV Matt Greenfield about Fansubs and his feelings on them (and was immediately told not to get him started by Tiffany Grant, which was pretty cool anyways). He mentioned how the unliscenced fansubs were harming the industry in Japan and that action was going to be taken soon by some Japanese companies. So in some respects, I'm not at all surprised. However, this does mean that now I won't be downloading those two series', which is kind of a bummer. Ah well. Such is life.

Kinetic Dream The Pineapple Ugh. So pissed that I'm sick. Was supposed to go to the college anime club tonight. gonk Though I think I won't mind too much, the thing is called Otakus-Anon and that makes me kinda feel weird. confused Which is why I avoided anime clubs. Most people around here are on the edge, or over it, of obsession. Not that I can't deal with it, just too much in one place is disgusting to me. I'll take my animation in moderation, if you please. Our anime club is amusing, if for no other reason than the weirdos that inhabit it. If there's one thing that makes me feel better about how much anime I watch, it's finding people who have less of a life in regards to anime than I do. xd Nah, but seriously, they're cool people. Sometime when we don't want to watch something serious, we're just going to put in the X movie dubbed to MST.

Kinetic Dream MegamanPsy Kinetic Dream The Pineapple Kinetic Dream Craaaaap... Getting sucked into a roleplay to assist my brother... gonk Uh.. Hoorah. confused Not at all. Most of those people are sub par, or average... but there's one who's excellent, and he's decided to 'target' me. Which means I'm getting interested. gonk Sounds fun, before I found Gaia I was a part of a big RP, I felt so out of place because they were all really good at it. sweatdrop I was a bit above avarage I guess, a B-. I wish I could find a decent rp on Gaia. neutral Well, one that would last anyway. Ahem ahem Arcane Underground
