Akki sat stirring her cup absently, her eyes tearing up as she fingered the hem of her sweater. She stared at the table, showing no interest in the cup in front of her or her surroundings.

"Oh..", Lacuna said a bit embarrassed by her own questioning now. "I don't see why you'd have to explain yourself darling, I find you rather interesting", she admitted. Lacuna brushed the crumbs into Rei's lap with a small laugh.
"Oops", she said sarcastically with a smirk.
"Didn't you mention a lost love of the sort?", she asked thinking for a moment. Lacuna tried her best not to make eye contact with Rei any further. Lacuna felt awkward when she did so, but try as she might, couldn't seem to control her wandering eyes that seem to find an odd attraction to those of Rei.

Looking over at the other customers, he spotted Akki and couldn't take his eyes off of her. "She's so beautiful," he whispered. Watching her still, he ordered a cup of black coffee when he was aproached.

Akki looked up, a vague empty look in her eyes replaced by one of shock and pain as she glimpsed a pair of blue eyes watching her. Her gaze returned to her cup, her hands trembling as she wrapped her hands around it. Why?

Catching her thought without meaning to, Kalan looked down at his own mug and tried not to think. Blinking back traces of tears, and trying not to blubber in public, he couldn't help but look back up at Akkhina and wave timidly at her.

Rei made a face as Lacuna brushed crumbs into his lap. Oh thanks...he muttered, a soft laugh about his words. He shifted to brush himself off but paused as she made mention of his 'lost love', letting his hands fall to his sides. His throat closed some and he tried to swallow it away, and shook his head as he shifted to slump in his seat some, wrapping his arms around himself. Yeah...I guess I did mention him, didn't I...he muttered, eyes looking away as he held himself tight, the thought of his love one to make him want to shred himself now that it seemed he was unwanted.

Head down, she stared through her hair, her heart aching as she watched him. At his wave, her hands jerked suddenly, knocking over the cup in front of her. She jumped up with a shriek as the hot liquid poured down the table into her lap.

Jumping out of his chair, he spilled his own coffee onto his lap as well, but didn't even notice as he whipped out his wand and cast the spell neccessary to cleaning Akkhina's dress and table up. Stoping across from her at the table he ached looking at her, and dropped his head to his chest and stared at his boots.

Lacuna bit her lip and nervously hung her head. It had seemed to her that she always mentioned the wrong things to people she cared about.
"I'm.. sorry..", she muttered resting her head upon her folded arms on the table with a sad look in her eyes. "I didn't.. I mean to say..", she let a sigh escape her parted lips and played with the blue sparks from her fingertips to try and calm herself while managing continuing her eye contact with Rei..

Akki, attemptng to mop up the spill on her dress, started sobbing as her mind registered the stain dissappearing. She gazed into a pair of blue eyes, her own mirroring all the hurt and pain in her heart With a whispered "no..." she pushed past him towards the door, tripping over his chair in her rush to escape.

Kalan didn't try to stop her at all, he just turned and followed her to the door, eyes still watching his feet. "Can I at least apologize to your face, Akkhina?" Looking up at her back as he questioned her, he wrapped his arms around his waist and hoped she had heard him.

Rei took a deep breath and side, shaking his head some as he glanced to the magic user and the other girl, who seemed to also be having problems. The sadness the coffeehouse had filled with, due to himself as well as the others, was starting to choke him, and he ran his hand over the back of his neck and shifted to sit again. It's...just...a sore subject, I guess...he muttered, offering an apologetic look to Lacuna.

Lacuna nodded in reply to the look. In hopes to lighten the mood Lacuna touched Rei's fingertip with her own and gave him a small, playful shock of pale blue light with a giggle, though, at the first touch of his fingertip she shivered in confusion.

Her hand on the door, Akki halted, a shudder coursing through her at his voice. She turned slightly towards him with a whimper, her eyes carefully avoiding his.

Rei watched Lacuna reach to him and blushed softly, holding his breath somewhat as he waited to see what she was doing. As her fingertip met his and he saw the sparks he smiled some, shifting to take her hand gently and touch all of his fingertips to hers, pulling more pale blue lights from her fingertips and letting his own sparkles of energy dance from their fingers. You know...You're bold. It takes a lot of guts to let your magic touch another's when you don't know how they'll react...He moved his eyes from their hands to meet her eyes again, a strange sense of comfort coming over him as he sat with Lacuna.
