Lolz I wanna try soprano sax sooooooo bad! I've done REALLY well at the other three, but I haven't tried soprano. I doubt anyone here has, but I want to know where to get one. I've heard that they're fairly cheap.

ok so i have a little problem. THeres something wrong with my bari sax and i have no idea waht it is but i can't play anything below middle a (90% of the notes in the songs i'm playing are notes below mid a). this is becoming a real problem.
so all i know is that i don't think it's my reed or my embouchure
any1 got any ideas?

First year of High school I started playing alto, then I moved to bari {only one yeah!} then went back to flute sophmore year and bass in jazz.
Then this year I'm playing oboe for symphonic, flute, clarinet, and tenor for jazz. Mainly tenor 3 members of the sax section switched. Alto 2 player moved to bari, tenor 2 moved to alto 2, and me, who was the bari, moved to tenor 2. And now I don't get the bari solo on Boplicity crying but I to get to play flute, clarinet, and tenor on Tears in her eyes. Anyway...yay!

I bet it's the G key that has the leak (left ring finger.) That happened to me about a year ago, too, and I put a new pad on and tightened some screws. It worked out fine after that. But yeah, If you're having it looked at, tell them about it or else they might not fix it.

Man, I have yet to find some bad ones! Try a Rico Royal, break it in, and if it's still not your type, then get vandoren classics. I onlyrecommend rico royal for bari, not tenor or alto (or soprano, for that matter.) They're awesome on bari, but somehow aren't great on the other saxes.

Hello! I play Alto Saxophone in my school band. I've played for around 3 1/2 years. Some days though, I wish I choose clarinet when I've been carrying it around for a long time! Still, it's a good instrument.

Yo, I play tenor sax in beggining band. I been playing since around september, 2008 and im having problems with some notes. =[

When i try to hit high notes (and some low notes) it either squeaks or it sounds wierd. The only notes i can really play is when i dont have to use the octave key. I dont know if somethings wrong with me or my sax.

The sax is NOT mine its the schools and i use RICO reeds size 3 and my mouthpiece is size 3. Help?
