Those moments of silence spent with Xel were some of the most uncomfortable of the entirety of Alti's life. There was a stranger in the room (well, stranger to Alti but close friend to Haar) who had seen the two of them kissing and... oh gods, he was going to just die of embarrassment, wasn't he? Yes, he was. Fortunately, though, the man soon left. THe dark-haired teen didn't think he would have been able to stand it if Xel had stayed any longer.

Alti, his face still quite the overly bright crimson shade it had been when Xel first entered, nodded slowly. "Y-yeah... I can... see that...." he mumbled, feeling more than just a little embarrassed. Golden eyes glanced up tentatively towards the other only to find that Haar seemed just about as embarrassed as Alti, though he most certainly did not blush as the teen did or show it in such obvious ways. But still, it was reassuring that he wasn't the only one....

Haar cast a sheepish grin at the door, shaking his head a bit before turning his eyes back on Alti. "I suppose I deserved that though. I mean what kind of schmuck kisses someone before the first date? I think I just made my chivalry instructor roll in his grave," the young man said with a sort of a nervous grin as he rubbed at the scar under his eye a bit.

Opening the shutters, Haar leaned against the window sill, red eyes sweeping across the light kingdom's morning landscape. "I guess I should try to contact one of the generals to see how the investigation. Cyrus didn't say anything about putting me in charge of the case, but he might need my help," the young man mused aloud. "You wouldn't mind if I couldn't meet you in between your performances, would you? I figure I'll be free today but I need to get in touch with Cyrus."

[[Sorry that took so long. My roommate wanted to go to bed at 9:30 =__=;; so I had to go run and take out my contacts and get ready for bed. DX -shakes fist at her-]]

"The type that confesses with a kiss?" Alti replied, a slightly teasing grin on his lips (though he still looked rather embarrassed with that bright flush remaining quite evident on his cheeks). It wasn't the first time the man had kissed him, after all -- the first (and Alti's first kiss) had been when Haar had finally revealed his feelings for the other. Of course, Alti had kissed him back, but.... but he was teasing Haar right now so he didn't add that part. "Besides, we went on a... a half date last night. Sort of," he added, referring to their interupted meal (which had really been before they had decided to be together) and then the show after.

Alti nodded slowly as the other spoke. He.. well, truthfully, he did want to spend as much time with Haar as he could -- they had only just started to... to... well, Alti didn't quite know how to phrase it. THey were dating... right? Except that that was a bit off because he didn't know how often he would be able to see the other due to their conflicting kingdoms -- which was the other reason as to why he wanted so much to be with Haar while he could. And yet, at the same time he knew that those thoughts were selfish. After all, the recovery of the king* was much more important than some... some... than their... relationship or whatever he was supposed to call it. But all the same, he wanted to be selfish.

"I... well, I mean... I suppose it's alright...." the teen replied slowly, his dark brow furrowed over bright golden-orange eyes. He seemed rather reluctant to answer, though.

((*can't remember if Haar told Alti or not. 8D;;

Anywho, I'm going to bed now cuz I'm tired. 8D;;;;; ))

[[Alti overheard him talking about it or something... I don't remember XD I can't remember the other general's name, the one I had make Haar investigate the scene.... Oh well. XD]]

Red eyes dropped from the fresh blue sky to the streets and then to nothing as he hunched with a whisper of a sigh. He was just waiting for something like this to happen. Haar never knew it would happen so soon but it had: something important to Alti was possibly going to be happen without him because of his line of work. Still, what was Haar to do? He was a soldier and he loved being able to help and protect his country in a very direct way...but that was his life. It wasn't just a job that he could escape from every night and go home to something of a regular world, his role as commander took up every ounce of himself and most of time. "I don't know if they'll need me, I'm only supposed to oversee situations that deal with the nation's safety so this is technically out of my realm," he explained before turning around with a expression that was something close to regret.

"I will make that date tonight no matter what, though," he said with a grin as he bent over to pick up the sword on the floor next to his bed in order to tie it around his waist.

[[yes, he'll get to that date even if it means sneaking Alti on a mission. XD]]

[/edit] GENERAL FAYST, and yes Alti does know about the missing king business. I found my post when Fayst barged in and was all, "Raaaawr!! King is gone, whut are you up to and why are you sleeping in the same room as a foreigner?? >:C"

(("picked up the sword on the floor and tied it around his waist" lawl. xD ))

Alti nodded slowly, a small smile slipping onto his lips. He hated to think that Haar might be sent on a mission that could potentially put his life in jeapardy, but he was at least slightly reassured by the promise to keep the date... no matter what. Besides, Alti should be more confident in his... in his what? His boyfriend? Well, he supposed that was about right.... After all, Haar had been in many missions before this, most if not all of them undoubtedly dangerous. Haar could handle himself. Or at least, Alti hoped he could because last time Haar had only been sent to give a message or something about dresses and he had ended up almost dying from an arrow wound in his side. Fortunately, though, Alti had been able to get him out of that one... Otherwise, the teen thought it more than probable that Haar would have died.....

Still, though, he should keep his confidence if only to reassure himself for the time being.

"A-alright... thanks, Haar," he murmured slowly, a light flush settling on his cheeks above that small, unsure (but still rather happy) smile.

[[You know what I meant, I guess I should've said 'strapped it ot his waist' but I was obviously too tired to think. sweatdrop ]]

Haar turned around to reply but was stopped mid step as a...miniature version of a beast only one would think up in a fairytale galloped around Haar's vision for several moments until the flame-like creature vanished in a puff of smoke only to reveal a sheet of parchment in its place. Haar highly doubted the message was for Alti, for it hadn't been sent by a delicate butterfly but by Cyrus's favorite, rather rare, breed of horse known in the fire nation. Holding the piece of paper with both hands, Haar scanned the letter several times before a hint of mischief washed over his face for only a moment. Dropping his hands, the soldier stared forward in an almost numb composure.

"They said they found some link...with another nation," he mumbled, "They're sending me to the ice kingdom." It was a death wish, or at least it would've been had the statement been true. In reality, Cyrus had simply told Haar that Fayst was leading the investigation and that the man would contact Haar if he was needed, and with a hint of glee the young man knew that Fayst would never call for his aide even if it cost him his life. He would either get all the glory, or none of it. Why exactly was he lying to Alti? Haar was a selfish man when it came to things such as these and he'd have a hint of satisfaction at any glimmer of remorse and even more pleasure in being able to tell Alti that he was joking and that he was actually free for the entire festival...unless some other catastrophe happened, that is.

((Haar's a meanie beanie. :< ))

Alti watched the progress of the beast for a moment -- it was an odd one but the method of sending the message Alti was at least used to. Dark brows knitted together as the man read, a small frown forming on his lips where previously there had been a smile. He felt... nervous all over in his anticipation -- would Haar be sent away somewhere on a difficult mission never to return?

He blinked slowly as the man relayed the message, eyes widening at what Haar said. Haar was... being sent to the Ice Kingdom? The teen shivered involuntarilly, remembering the last time he had encountered people from that land. Haar hadn't come out very well from that encounter. He swallowed slightly thickly, several expression flashing across his face in a moment -- apprehension, concern, fear, sadness. From the looks of things, he most certainly did not want Haar to leave.

"Be.... be careful.... okay?" he murmured, his voice weak. It was such a useless comment and he felt worthless for it, but it was all he could manage at the moment. His mind was too consumed with fears and images of Haar dying or... or being heavily wounded for him to be able to speek properly.

[[I can imagine Alti not talking to him for the rest of the day... :<]]

Haar's expression broke through into something rather happy as the young man handed the letter over to Alti to look at the real message. "Heh, you should've seen your face. I'm actually free for, probably, the entire festival since Fayst won't want any help," he explained, looking a tiny bit sheepish.

[/edit] Holy crap. I was thinking to myself right this second about a thought I had last night. I like putting my songs on shuffle and then force myself to draw out scenes with certain characters of like the first five songs I get or whatever. My neighbors woke me up at like 2:45 yesterday til 4:00 (I was so pissed XD) so I was listening to songs and wanted to do this with Haar and Alti. Anyway, I turned on my ipod right now and was like, I hope I get this one song I LOVELOVELOVE by Colby Caillat called 'Magic' and it was the firts song that came up on shuffle. :OOO Omg, the second song just started as I'm typing this and it's the song that the lyrics in my song are from. CREEPY. XDDD I have like over 400 songs, so it's creeping me out...

Okay, the third song sucks. :< -skips- >_>

[/edit x2] Bwuahaha, 'what is love?' I forgot I had this on my ipod... XD

Golden eyes widened as he took the letter, read it, and then glanced up at Haar to find the man grinning. Truthfully, he was more than happy to find that Haar would not be sent off to such dangers, but his anger was, for the moment, more prominent. A heavy scowl formed on the teen's lips and he stood up suddenly, sending Haar a rather hurt-looking (but also quite angry) glance before he turned away.

"--I'm going to go get some breakfast," the teen said, his voice forced. Inside, he felt quite weak -- and also quite mad -- and it was all he could do to keep his voice from cracking.

[[-kicks Haar in the nads-]]

Red eyes widened, a waver of shock fluttering across the soldier's features only for a moment before Haar realized just how stupid he had been (yet again). Alti obviously cared for the man much more than he had assumed...and was taking out his anger to mask some sort of revulsion at how concerned he had been... or at least that's what Haar hoped. "Alti, hey, I was just--" I was just joking. Making a joke about my life, something which Alti obviously hadn't found very funny. Because Haar didn't know what to do, he stopped Alti when he probably should have let him leave to cool off. Grabbing the teen by the wrist, the young man attempted to explain, "I was kidding, I didn't think...I'm sorry, I mean, I won't do it again, I didn't realize you'd...be so mad."

He didn't turn when Haar grabbed his wrist. He couldn't face Haar, not now -- not with his bottom lip trembling the way it was or how his eyes were burning so intensly, making him absolutely certain that at any moment he would burst out into tears. Why did he take it all so seriously and so closely to heart? Because he had seen Haar wounded deeply before and he knew just how likely it would be for the man to lose his life if he went on such a dangerous mission.

"Just... just stop," Alti said, his voice wavering slightly. He still wouldn't face Haar and he was even more adament about it now than before because the tears really had spilled over. He hated it, hated it so freaking much.

[[ gonk ]]

Haar's apology cut out at the teen's next, few words. The older male let his hand slip, but instead of away, he curled his fingers around the teen's hand. He didn't say anything, he didn't know what more he could say to make Alti stop crying. Even if it was relatively silent tears it wasn't hard to make out the light trembling shaking the teen's form, and Haar knew Alti wasn't yelling at him for a reason. He didn't want Haar to see him crying.

"Can I come with you?" He asked slowly, in a quiet tone.

((Alti's been too snifflysobby lately. He needs to stop it. Dx But he's still too shaken and Haar got wounded too recently for him to be okay with that sort of thing..... 8D;; ))

Tears had spilled down the teen's face and he took in a deep, shaky breath. He raised an arm and hastilly wiped away the tears on the back of his sleeves. "Just... just... just don't joke about that sort of that thing.... I just... you almost died once already, s-so...." His heart was feeling shaky. Finally, as the man spoke again, he managed a glance backwards at the other, feeling Haar's hand close around his own. There were tear streaks marking down his cheeks.

"I...I... fine...." he mumbled slowly, brow furrowed.

[[He satisfies my uke quota. XD -huggles him to death-]]

Haar didn't say anything for a minute, but instead he pulled the teen close for a hug. Pressing his lips against Alti's head, breathing in the older male finally said, "I'm sorry." Letting go completely, Haar pulled back with a sullen expression, "Just as you were allowed to slap me last night, you're fully able to blow me off," he murmured with a wince.

Alti didn't attempt to struggle out of the hug or complain -- he didn't have the strength of mind to be so defiant and, besides, he didn't really want to be. He just didn't want Haar to... to leave or to die or something because that would be more than bad. He wiped again at his eyes, trying quite stubbornly to keep his eyes and face as dry as was possible.

"I'm fine, Haar," he replied, his voice seeming firmer than before, his expression set into a stubborn little pout that did nothing to disguise just how upset he had been only moments before. "But if you ever do that again, then I won't slap you -- I'll punch you. Hard." Well, he seemed to have regained at least a little bit of his usual self.
