Things had gone from surreal to... much more bizarre in what seemed like no time for the little pup. He had been minding his own business, happily munching on the spookies from the refreshment table, making sure to sample a little bit of everything. Everything sweet, that is. And then a loud crash had him nearly hiding behind the table, where he remained nibbling on spookies until his treat level was once again relaxation-inducing.

He was almost recovered by the time the next event occured. Ears perked forward as Junko came up to the loud-voice-thing, and that's when things got REALLY weird. Suddenly there were faces turning his way, and one hug later he was choking on his spookies. Since it was really Yaya and not a masked lookalike, he hoped the ghoul didn't mind a bit of crumbs on her fancy clothes... By the time he joined the others on the stage his cheeks glowed with embarrassment, his ears flopped back with uncertainty.

He had... no words when the microphone was pointed in his direction, which wouldn't surprise anyone. Just a very wide-eyed confused look.

He submitted to Lizzy's hug without protest, although big eyes watched her as though asking "what just happened? D:" The just-crowned princess got a similar look. At least until the little bow! That was when Jove remembered his manners, and offered one in return, his little voice barely audible as he replied, "Pleasure." Mask or no mask, he had to be a gentleman!

"Oo a picture might be a good idea." Mitsu nodded. Though Xiu probably had taken plenty no doubt. The ghoul had attacked them as soon as they came in through the door. The flash had gone off at random times during the night so no doubt the ghoul had pictures....lots and lots of pictures.

Pfffffft. You worked hard on it, or hardly put any work into it at all?” She mocked, and then made an exasperated sigh for show. “Oh fine, I will fix it.” She let him pry away her hand, but pulled her glove off of the other one with her teeth and let it fall. She then gave her palm a nice lick and then smoothed Mac’s hair back into place.

There.”

"Our classics are hundreds of years old, though. We are not sure they'd still be around." Invictus replied, without the qqqq of Lunchbox's paw trying to influence him. However, it seemed fortunate that Lizzy did have some sort of song in her head for them.

Less they got something sort of awkward from his end. It was quick and wouldn't leave much room for small talk. While Invictus would not have mind getting to know more of the Amityville populace, it was obvious to him that Eris was debating destroying everything, so it was better to not press their luck.

Last thing the Four Clans needed was to rebuild Amityville school as well as their own reserve.

"A tango? Very well." he almost seemed to smile in a knowing way as he offered Lizzy his hand as the music was set up for them.

"I am justice." Even he started to laugh once Amrita was giggling. He couldn't keep the mysterious low voice up. The wagging tail was swept out of her hands and quickly reattached. "Yeah. I thought when they said 'masquerade', they meant, well...."

He did a half-twirl to show off his cape, careful not to smack Amrita with his wings. Not that he was embarrassed. He'd felt pretty awesome at the time he'd picked it, and he was a lot more at home in an outfit like this than the formal wear everyone else seemed to be tied up in. It was questionable if Aymet even owned things like suits and neckties. He wasn't feeling so awesome now, though.

"Sometimes they have a life of their own," he lied. The dracolich took a brief glance over his shoulder toward Sibyl, or where he'd last seen her out on the dance floor. Something else was happening over there now, he didn't really have the energy to pay attention. Either way, he wasn't going to ask Amrita for a dance just yet.

"Can we sit down for a minute?" he asked, and didn't wait for an answer before he dropped into one of the free chairs by the tables.

It felt, a bit, like she was dreaming. Like Mac had never woken her from under the table with that cup of spilled punch, and she had continued to sleep there still, seeing students she knew and conjuring up others she'd maybe glanced, or heard of... because everything was illuminated by such soft light that Amarus couldn't help but yawn. "Oh, you did not see it? Nevermind, then," Amarus replied, her skin faintly flushed, though it was difficult to see under the glow. Being proud of the cheek-kiss was perhaps strange; better to just not mention it.

"It is much nicer. I feel like I am dreaming," she admitted, stretching as much as one could stretch underneath a table. And trying not to hit her head. "Maybe there are constellations on the underside of the table?"

Amarus leaned back, looking up at the table, her knees tucked against her chest. She squinted.

"I see the constellation of the pinup..." she mumbled, pointing towards the middle of the table sleepily. Then, she laughed, shook her head so that her bells rang. "Kidding! Kidding. I see... hmm."

Amarus trailed off, thinking.

Mot blinked, raising his gaze to the inside of the table top, lifting his mask up onto the top of his head. It really was nice under there. Her talk of constalations made him think maybe some glass might reflect pretty sparkles on the surface.

Her joke earned a scoff from Mot. "Hey!" He grinned, smacking her arm lightly with the back of his hand. He laughed anyway, still huddled with his knees to his chest.

"I had fun with you tonight."

If Amarus had anything on her that could refract her glow, she would have taken it out then, just to cover the inside of their "castle" with dancing lights. For fun, and because it was kind of relaxing. Amarus was never very good at the relaxation thing. The night had been... very long. She had started assuming it would end up terrible.

But it hadn't. It had ended up pretty amazing. Which was probably why she thought it was a dream-- "Ow!" Amarus protested, laughing too. It wasn't that hard, after all-- she could still laugh at the glancing blow. "No dream has ever assaulted me. Guess you're the real thing. You wanna start a fight, huh? We may be under a table, but I will still accept your challenge, Mot." She was grinning so widely that the expression ear to ear really suited that moment. She did not want to fight him. She always wanted to fight everyone, but she did not need to fight Mot. Usually the fighting kept her interested, awake, whatever-- but it was not necessary, even if she didn't realize it.

"I had fun with you, too. It is nice to see you without your mask," Amarus added, brushing the side of his cheek in passing, before leaning back and tugging at the cloth over the table to no effect, idly. "If you try to disappear after this, you know I'm going to go looking for you, right? I have an eyePhone now and your first mistake was entering your contact information," she teased, glancing over at him. Too much punch. Too much lotus essence.

The remaining shoe found, Yin waited for his bonded to return to him, and the zomboil was saying his name yet again. It took him a moment to process what he was actually saying before he answered. "I do not know that we missed anything?" He also noted the people beginning to file out, so they would not be the first ones to leave the dance if he did choose to do so.

But, it was Alexander's night though, and it was really only fair if he had the final say in the matter. "If we leave now I will need to go fetch Princess Eva. But I do not think we should leave unless you are ready to go?" He fought back a yawn, determined not to let the fact that he was tired sway any decisions. "Will you be coming back with me?" Not that he really needed to ask, but he did anyways.

Then, just to be Yin, he asked one last question. "Would you like me to carry those?" For some reason he doubted that Alexander would be putting them on.

Junko saw that, Freya.

She saw what you did.

That microphone would need to be washed, it touched Mac's head. Gross.

She'd been distracted until Lizzy came over to the DJ Booth with her choice of song, smiling and nodding. "I can put it on, Lizzy~!" Now to just...figure out how..

Junko got behind the dj booth and started pushing buttons. Country music played, then J-Pop--she'd have to find this song later!--then some ghetto fab music, and then finally..

"Ha! Think you can get the best of me, technology~? I win!" She giggled, stepping out from behind the booth and climbing down off the stage again with all the grace of a bottom-heavy bowling pin. Junkos wobble but they don't fall down, at least?

Alexander shook his head a little, to indicate that he was fairly sure that they had done everything they could have done. Sampled the food, had a picture taken, had a dance, visited with friends, told Yin he thought he might be in love with him...really, what more could one hope for in a first date?

The music had changed yet again, but oddly enough, just watching people beginning to leave was enough to make the zomboil feel content in knowing that the evenings festivities were at an end. He really wouldn't have minded another dance, but at the same time he was more then happy with what he had already gotten, and was more then glad to leave on a good note rather then push his luck and end in some kind of disaster, as he was prone to.

"I'll need to go and get Fei as well. Hopefully he played well with the others." Little did he know, his normally hyperactive pet had been quite subdued and bored out of his little vaisel mind all night and was just waiting to be picked up so that he could finally leave. "But yes, I think I'm now ready to go as well." He assured the weremantis, then gave him a grin that flashed teeth as he replied to the next question. "Of course I'm coming back with you! What kind of date would I be if I didn't at least walk you back to your room at the end of the night?" He didn't think he needed to add in the part where he would spend the night as well. Afterall, he had books and clothes and even his bed in the weremantis's dorm room. Where else would he want to spend the night?

He was just shifting his shoes to be held in one hand, perhaps drawing attention to them when Yin asked about carrying them. He was right to assume that the zomboil was not about to put them back on. Too much work, really, when they would just be coming back off again once they made it back to Yin's room. "Sure, I mean, if it would make you happy to carry them." He didn't know if it really made Yin happy, but whatever, he held out the shoes towards him anyways before turning towards the minipet area, waiting for Yin before making his way over there with him to retrieve there pets.

Mot smirked playfully. Good thing she didn't start a fight. Mot lost 90% of his battles as it was. So far Amarus seemed to like him. No need to make her see how terrible a fighter he was.

"And I am glad to have it off for a while. It was getting to be irritating." The light grazing of her hand over his face made the boil feel slightly exposed, almost wanting to pull the mask back down. But he didn't, simply smiling shyly and setting his gaze to the underside of the table again. Had this happened a year ago he'd have been flustered beyond reason over an innocent thing. Time had dealt with that little issue. Thank goodness. A 17 year old shouldn't be scared of ghouls, after all.

"I am aware." He replied assuredly. "And I have yours. Neither of us is safe." He gave the ghoul a knowing smug look.

"Yes." Mac grumped in an answer to her question. All of the freakin' above, lady. He was still a little groggy from the whole microphone to the cranium bit, thus her initial movements were merely stared at in confusion. Why was she licking her palm? Why was she reaching out to him and----afjghakjghajhga

"EUUUGH BAD TOUCH BAD TOUCH!" He cried out in a totally mature, not-at-all scareling manner, smacking her hand away and pressing a booted foot to her stomach, pushing her at least a leg's length away from him. "You are disgusting!" And now? His head was pounding.

Owwwwwwww~

"You are silly!" Amrita replied, trying to drop her voice to a similar rough gravel...sadly, she came up way short and ended up giggling a little more instead. He did have a particular way of making her feel better, which was nice! Knowing full well he could smack her with his appendages, the patchwork took a subtle step back as he spun for her, clapping the backs of her hands together.

"You look great! Don't let Charlie see you though, I think you're his biggest fan!" There was a pause as she realized what she had said, and as realization sank in, her cheeks got darker with a blush. "...I...I mean HE is YOUR biggest fan! As in, um, B-Batman?" She stammered through, crossing her wrists to clasp her hands in front of her sheepishly.

"Err, sure?" He didn't seem to wait for her answer though - maybe he knew her that well already?! - and she looked around, grabbing another chair to take a seat beside him, smoothing her hands down the folds of her dress. After a minute or two she started to pick at the fabric, wondering if she should break the news about Riley to Aymet before he got the shock of his unlife too. But first---there was something odd about him.

"Hey, Aymet?" Amrita inquired quietly, shifting in her seat to lean in closer to the mysteriously masked boil. "Are you feeling okay?" He didn't seem to have as much energy as he used to. He felt...different, somehow.

Amarus would probably not have liked Mot any less for being a bad fighter. She would have undoubtedly made fun of him, except for the fact that if he ever wanted to show her up all he had to do was remind her how slowly she was learning swing, amongst other things. And the atrocious attempt at ... dancing that was not-swing, as per her experience with Lizzy and Tseng. That would probably be enough to wound her pride, and keep her from teasing him about his fighting.

At least she hadn't mortified him. That was a bonus. "It limits the field of vision... and I don't know about yours, but I mean, mine had embroidering, and that is itchy," she told him, as if imparting some kind of secret. Mot might once have been skittish around ghouls, or whatever he had been, but Amarus would have been downright unfriendly, and it used to be impossible for her to even make contact with anyone. Progress, yay! ... sort of. Whatever. Close enough.

"Oh? Hey! Why the Jack do you look so suspicious?" Amarus asked. Having turned to look at him, she saw the smugness on his face, and wrinkled her nose. "I will be a pest, you know. Specifically to you. As irritating as you have never fathomed." she threatened. Hey, man, Mot seemed like he wasn't intimidated by her threats, and, you know, she should reconcile that. Somehow.

It was strange, to know that a whole world was going on outside-- she should offer to leave, but she'd wait until Mot got up first. It was nice under the table. Soft light, less sound, even cooler. And hey, no glass! Or gnomes. Amarus wasn't really super eager to leave, until she had to.
