He'd never seen this side out of Ryugi, was this what happened when armor was tossed aside and the Dragon was set free. Maximos hadnt even said a word, and Ryugi was already charging to close the distance between them.

He charged forward, the grass quivering as the blossoms raced to keep up.

Likewise!

Maximos grinned.

Ryugi was being direct and so would he. His hand dug deep in the grass before his feet launched him forward, the smack of leaves against his pale bare feet filled the air.

A fight for fun. It was a relaxing experience to say the least. Something he wished he did more often. But the time for wishing and thinking was closing the closer he got to Ryugi. He needed an attack.

And for an attack that would signify the spirit of this fight. He had to be direct. He was closing in, his right foot smacked the ground immediately followed by his left, giving him all the extra force he needed for a very direct straight punch.

Ryugi smiled as he saw his friend move to close the distance. His eyes tracked his friend's moves, and his body was moving in the way of a direct punch to Ryugi's body. Ryugi put two and two together, and would try for a dodge and an attack in one single motion.

The punch came, and taking an idea from one of Maximos' earlier attacks, Ryugi slipped off to the side of the incoming attack and gripped the punching arm, but instead of falling to his back, Ryugi would press forward, using his speed and momentum to press the attack towards his friend after he'd mostly avoided the punch.

His unoccupied arm would shoot forward to bring a solid punch into his friend's chest, combining his own speed and momentum with the closing speed and momentum of his friend's punch. Of course, the impact from the attack would cause Ryugi to grimace a bit, it wasn't everyday that you slammed into your opponent without wearing armor and didn't.

The force from the punch would be enough to knock Maximos off his feet, but, it would also slow Ryugi's advance considerably as he tried his best to act as if he was punching THROUGH his target, rather than stopping AT it. One thing was for sure. Ryugi's hand was going to be sore after this one.

Maximos could tell from that fist hit, Ryugi had alot of strength behind him, especially considering the massive sword he wielded. Ryugi grasped his wrist and with a twist Maximos returned the favor.

But the speed the Shadow prided himself on also took a sort of strength. Catching ones body with a single arm, balancing on a single hand, being able to hold ones weight while rotating around a sign post...

What Ryugi's legs and sword training provided, Maximos' gymnastics also gave.

In their moment of impact the blossoms almost seemed to explode outwards as the wind the two gathered smashed into each other in a violent dance so very simplistically playing out their fight.

Ryugi's punch was met Maximos' arm catching the fist at the wrist. The two sort of mirrored each other instance. The dragons force impacting Maximos' like a bull. The shadows bear feet taking something of a beating as they were gridded back several feet through the grassy turf before finally managing to bring the two to a halt. The blossoms raced around them, like tiny spectators rushing to see the fight from all angles.

They had both changed so much since their last conflict. So very much, and more than Maximos could ever want to attack, he wanted to see how his dear friend would react now. He held his grips, a bright grin across his features as his eye sought to meet Ryugi's.

And as Max would meet Ryugi's gaze, his eyes would find that Ryugi's too, were light and carefree, that same kind grin plastered across his face. In all the time Maximos would have known Ryugi, he would have seen that smile on his face. It only came out when Ryugi was truly happy, when he was truly enjoying himself. He would have seen it when he was resurrected and Ryugi had met him on the shores. He'd recognize the glow in his eyes as one of inner joy and tranquility, emotions that would register in Maximos' eyes in various colors.

Ryugi didn't care about the end of the fight. He didn't care about the progress of the fight. He only cared about enjoying himself with his friend in a way he hadn't been able to do in ages. The two friends tested on another, pushed a little here, gave a little there, and in effect, grew more aware of the other as the fight continued on. Their spirits would clash together in their roughhousing, and carefree attitudes, just as the petals from the blossoms slipped around the two friends, falling lightly after being blasted back and away from them after their last clash.

With a glint of playful mischief in his kind red eyes, Ryugi would grip snugly onto Maximos' arm, his only anchoring point to the shadow, and then, with all the force he could muster from his powerful legs, he'd jump. As if trying to touch the sky itself he would jump, petals from the pink and white blossoms spinning around the fighters as he broke through the trees, the pink and white showering the friends in sweet smells of a carefree spring day. Ryugi wondered if his friend would jump as well, seeing how high they could go...

I wonder, my good friend, do you think we could touch a piece of the sky today?

Now Maximos would have jumped, but as it stood he had no idea what Ryugi was about to do. So instead he just sort of rode the wave. The leap carrying them ever higher. Now clearly the Shadow was barefoot, or a few bursts from his boots would have guaranteed them a piece of sky.

Maybe it was the way the petals danced, or the way Ryugi's powerful arms gripped him. He felt so safe, so secure...so pristine....the feel was intense, as intense as the euphoria one feels tingly up their spine as gravity breaks its hold for just a moment. He couldnt resist...a rosey hue filling his cheeks as he leaned forward, his lips persed as he "met" Ryugi's soft--

No.

Maybe my friend...

Maximos' bare feet lifted aiming to find purchase on Ryugi's chest.

...save me a piece of you find it...

He said with a smirk, releasing his grips on Ryugi's arms as he kicked off the mans chest with everything he had to offer. In mid air half of that attack would be missing, most of the time a drop kick has the additional effect of making the receiver drop.

With only a single wrist hold against all of Maximos' leg force Ryugi was likely not to be able to hold on.

Maximos would immediately be cast down bathing in the cherry blossom storm, while his counterpart should be sent a good distance up. Now they had a charge of a different kind to face. A vertical space between the two, with gravity struggling to bring them together and separate them.

As Maximos kicked off, Ryugi let go of him, embracing the force added to his jump by the shadow's legs. So much infact, that he flipped up into the air from the force, feeling weightless for a moment as his jump peaked, and then, he rolled back, and moved his body into a dive as gravity finally managed to wrap its clutches around him again. A glint took hold of Ryugi's eyes as he dove towards the ground, petals whizzing past his form in the breeze as he formed a plan.

At the last moment, Ryugi would roll himself over as he hit ground, landing in a deep crouch, his legs bent fully, his arms catching his fall as well to spread out the force of impact. He felt the shock of the impact strongest in his legs and forearms, but despite the slight numbing tingling sensation, and a dent under his feet, he was mostly fine. But the real surprise would be what came afterwards. All that falling force had been captured by Ryugi's bent legs and arms, and as he hit, his body compressed down to the ground, before erupting once more towards Maximos in the fastest attack he had yet to pull unaided by any powers in any fight the friends would have had in the past.

As he shot towards his friend, he'd arc his body slightly in an attempt to deliver a speedy clothesline to his opponent, his feet only touching the ground out of need to steady himself as the power from his launch forward almost seemed to let him skip across the ground. He almost seemed to float in the air, even though that was impossible since both weren't using powers.

Allow me to hand you a piece of the sky my friend!

There it was again, that mischievous grin, and glint in his eyes.

But the crafty shadow was not on the ground.

He had been sent backward toward the very hard, very unsettling earth. But as it stood he enjoyed the air so much better. Something in that flight reminded him of that indescribable freedom that came with being entirely airborne. And he wanted it again.

He arched his back, straightening his descent, like a blurry black arrow. His arms immediately reaching out from one of the stronger branches on the tree's. Maximos was a light weight, and so he made a bit of an estimation. The tree limb protested as it caught his weight bending rather far. The shadows feet just barely knicking blade of grass before he was launched back up like an old cherry blossom sling shot.

Needless to say the beautiful tiny leaves painted his flight in colorful delight as he zoomed up to meet the Dragon descending down upon him like a hawk. Ryugi would clearly see Maximos wasnt on the ground and would likely adjust his attack.

And Maximos, like a true shadow, he aimed to meet it. Ryugi performing a clothesline as Maximos aimed to do just the same. With an audible thump and an echoing smack Ryugi's extended arm would meet Maximos's chest at about the same time that Maximos's arm was slated to hit Ryugi's chest...granted that was if there was no defense.

The fighter winced for a moment, before the ride began. Like a coin, flipped on a table, both fighters would have provided opposite force at close range...they were about to spin. All the way down to the large tree below.
PostPosted: Tue Apr 24, 2007 12:51 am

Ryugi went tumbling heels over head as his legs flipped up as they continued forward. That blow knocked the wind out of him, as he was pretty sure his blow would have done to Maximos. He coughed and sputtered a bit as he was sent careening slightly upwards and off to the side be the equal force from his friend. Luckily for him, he was sent towards a branch of one of the bigger trees. And he had enough of his wits about him to grab onto the bark, swinging himself up and around to land on it facing away from Maximos.

He quickly turned to face his friend, and braced himself on the thick trunk of the tree below him. He took the brief respite to cough a bit more and catch his breath as the blossoms rained down around him from the agitation of the tree he stood upon. But even as he coughed and caught his breath, he grinned. Now THAT was a fun combination of moves. After checking on his friend, he would leap off of the tree branch, and hop off the branches of several other nearby trees, all the while moving closer to his friend.

For Maximos the trip wasnt quite as pleasant. He could feel a particular tug from three of his ribs as the immense pressure spread out across his chest. In the spin he quite honestly lost sense of ground and air as he was sent spiraling into a tree. The snaps echoed from the tree like the crackling of wick deep inside a flame. Blossoms poured from the whole in tree top.

Branches beat against his form, as he soared down. But never did anything more than a wince and a smile show on Maximos' face. The ground was coming up fast, and he could see Ryugi's shadow above the tree cover makings it way toward him. He just wasnt ready to strike the ground...not yet.

His arms flung out to either side, catching two branches, the flexible wood arching back just risking splintering. And then gravity released, Maximos, tossed his legs forward breaking through from beneath the tree cover feet first, aiming to deliver some sort of aerial double kick to his draconic friend in a dance of fluttering leaves.
PostPosted: Tue Apr 24, 2007 1:43 pm

And what did Ryugi see as he burst through the trees, but two bare feet coming right at him. He barely had time to react, but he made the most of it. He couldn't form a decent attack in the time he had left to prepare, but he worked in a passable defense.

The double kick hit him midair causing his body to flip back, but that gave him enough time to grip his friend's bare feet. He used the force from the kick to allow him to pull Maximos' body down and around in a strange sort of midair throw, releasing him towards the ground below as Ryugi himself would be shot up into the air a bit before following in his own descent.

Eep!

He wasnt sure if he let that escape his lips or not. But he knew for a fact, that feeling hands around his bare feet after delivering a kick like that....could lead to just about no good.

And around and down he went, if it wasnt for the pain he knew he was about to feel he might have enjoyed the ride. But the countless branches that smacked against his back had a way of detracting from the ride. His only instinct was to catch himself, but as he had been flung head first.

All he had to catch himself with was his hands, and he was going to use them! With two smacks his open palms smacked the ground, his left arm immediately protesting the extreme wieght gain. Both arms bent like shock absorbs taking in the impact, his face wincing as it came about an inch from the dirt, his nose sniffing the blades of grass. The cherry blossoms pouring down a whitish pink bath upon him.

He knew Ryugi was coming, he knew it was coming fast. And with that in mind he had to escape. With a grunt, he shoved back carrying himself away from the sit of impact about 3ft in a 3 point landing. His right hand, and left and right leg supporting him. His face smirking, despite the aches in his chest, Ryugi was coming. And he was ready.
PostPosted: Tue Apr 24, 2007 4:37 pm

And down Ryugi came, falling into another crouch as petals blew away from under his feet. He'd watched his friend catch himself and move away into a rough stance. And so, he'd crouched and landed in a defensive posture. If an attack didn't come right away, Ryugi would make the first move, using the crouch as a spring to once more dart towards his good friend.

Sorry to drop in my friend!

Damrius ducked under the first rock, and as Maximos was right behind it, with his arm out, and his reactions obviously just as good as they were before, he decided to jump to his left, Maximos's Right. He did this because, if he jumped to his left, it would make it easier for Maximos to throw the rock at him as he recovered, no matter how little time it took. If he jumped the otehr way, maximos would have to adjust properly to throw the rock at him. Of course, those would most likely be the worst of his worries.

As he completed the jump, landing smoothly, he turned and forced himself towards Maxi, chambering a punch that would launch at his kidney. It would hurt, not kill, and disorient. Hopefully.

Maximos would have loved too, really he would have. But with his additional speed there was just no way Maximos sporting these new injuries, bruises though they may be could reach a speed capable of halting the charging dragon without taking further, real injuries on his feet beyond the simple scrapes they held now.

He waited, his right index, middle and thumb propped up his upper body while his two legs spread out propped up rear half.

As he neared, Maximos' pushed back, bracing for impact his legs bending, his weight shifting for a kneeled attack.

---

Damrius' plan was solid in its first few thoughts but failed in its execution. He weighted the value of being struck by the rock, but not the value of being struck by the arm which was able to sling and crush rocks.

Additionally he chose to use himself as a weapon. He chose to attack with his bare hand...that meant he had to enter into Maximos' threat range. A shock attack, a black bolt, anything that could have crossed the space between him and Maximos without actually giving Maximos a place to reach in and counterattack.

Lastly, Damrius chose the kidney, below the shoulder, stepping far into Maximos' arm reach. Maximos' would not stop running, his right arm would smack down to grab Damrius' wrist as the punch came, and he would immediately come to a skidding halt swinging his upper body to the left, basically aiming to swing Damrius around by his arm into a nearby tile-pillar.

As dame hit the tile pillar, he barely realized how he got there. Not one of his best moves, again, but it did answer a few questions.

As he started to pull away, his free hand lurched out, and let loose towards maximos a maxed out Zues's Fury. It was black of course, doubling the usual damage, and meaning it would be harder to counter with spells and such. Even absorbing it was dangerous.

But, this wasn't the Usual beam style he normally had. This was more of a cone, but starting out at his hand and widening very quickly. But, it came bascially as a wall, filled with energy. Shorter distance covered, but up close, and with maxed out charges, it was nearing walls, and stretching up fery high. This was going to hit hard, and it would hurt. Both parties, actually.
