The voice she had known long ago. A smirk crossed her lips as she spoke, not looking at him. "Counseling, Jack?" She spoke as if counseling or therapy was pointless. In her mind, she was too far gone to be helped. Now her voice was a mere whisper. "You of all people should know what I've been through... The deaths of so many friends. The defiance of so many allies... Now... This..." Takiko's hair fell in front of her face as she looked at the ground. She remained sitting on the hood of the car, watching a few of her tears roll down the hood she sat upon.

Jack's grin disappeared. He tried to make things slightly more light-hearted. As usual, he failed miserably. He nodded as a sigh escaped his mouth. He jumped off the junk heap, landing nimbly on the ground. He looked at Takiko and gave her an empathetic look.
"Yeah... I know... you've gone though a lot of crap you shouldn't have. We both did. Just for the record, you're right. Counseling seems useless. Never helped me."
He walked over to her and sat down next to her. He could see her crying. He groaned as he shook his head.
"What happened?"

So many times has Takiko been in a moment like this. To her, crying is her biggest weakness. She could never control it. Yet she could hide it. When she spoke, there wasn't a single sign in her voice that she was crying. If there weren't tears rolling down where she sat, it would seem like she wasn't crying. "I.. I just..." At first, it was difficult for her to explain. "Deo. He left me. He thought I was in love with the vampire elder and I'm not... Then I got attached to another being. Who later killed himself... And now I thought this time would be diffrent... But I was wrong. He told me he would come right back..."

Jack looked over at Takiko. She was an old friend and to see her in pain hurt him deeply. He groaned quietly as he shook his head. He didn't want to see her suffer so much.
"You don't deserve this. Look... I just came back. I'll stay with you for a while if you want."

Takiko looked up when he offered to stay with her. It was the nicest thing anyone had offered to her in a long time. It was now clear how much she was crying. Her cheeks were dripping with moisture. "Are you sure? You know, I'm not the same old Takiko I was before... I'm not even a demon anymore..." The last sentence was only a mutter. She was not sure if he knew or not. It was why the entire demonic race hated her.

"Hey, I'm not a full vampire. It's no problem. I don't judge people on what they are... it's who they are."
Jack smiled weakly as he put an arm around her and pulled her closer. He could tell she was crying fairly heavily. He felt real sorry for her. He wanted to help her as much as possible. Unfortunately, he was only human... in principle. He sighed.
"Look... I want to make sure you're alright. I hate seeing people suffer, let alone my friends."

It took a while for Takiko to answer. "Physically, I am fine. Emotionally and mentally I will never be the same... For better or worse, I am not quite sure." When she looked back at him again, it was clearer how diffrent she was. Before her eyes were a pale blue when she was a demon, now as a vampire, her eyes remained a dark crimson. Her usual tan skin was now white from lack of sun. It was even more amazing what kind of vampire she was.

"I'll stay with you then. Come on... how 'bout we just go somewhere. You need to rest."
Jack gave her a smile. His yellow eyes seemed kind despite their fiery appearance. He kept his arm around her.
"Do you want to resT? Have a drink?"

It would definatly help her. She had not slept at all since John left her. "A drink sounds nice." Even though it had been a long time since she had any blood or any sort of food or sleep at all, it had been even longer since she had a drink. All she needed to do is relax. And he could probably help her.

"Alright. C'mon... Los Noches sound like a good place?"
Jack grabber her by the hand and pulled her up. He still smiled at her as he motioned for her to follow him. He kept his eyes on her as he did.
"Listen, drinks are on me."
With that, he left and hoped for her to follow her.

Takiko did not know who to trust. Though her cold heart told her she could trust him. That it would be safe to follow. If she ran into a trap, someone was going to die in the most horrible way.

Ghorkel woke up, blinking... he yawned, sitting up, then coughing uncontrollably, his hood falling. He was in his 'hidey-hole'... a wreaked, mangled car that was only big enough for someone of his size to fit within... about waist-height, like a child. When he was finished coughing, he swore softly, "Damnit, I thought demons couldn't get sick... figures, hanging around garbage all day there are diseases even for me..."
He began to get up, greeting wit ha squeak and a twittering of a rat. He smiled down at it, his mangled, burnt and twisted face crackling with the effort, "Hello there, friend." He reached forward, patting the rat on the head... he held out his hand, letting the rat eat the dead flesh that was on it... he sighed... he had lived beyond notice in the city for some time, getting money and other items... lycans, vampires... so many odd creatures...
...And him, alone. He put on his hood, getting out of the car and climbing on top of it, his hooves clopping slightly as he climbed on top of it... He looked upwards at the sky with longing, the rat resting on his shoulder. "Friend, have you ever flown before...? Like an angel...?" His head tilted to the side. "I wonder what it's like... not that we'll get the chance. Still, though..."

Ghorkel continued to pet his little rat-friend, sighing contently. "We have it good. Don't have to work, just steal what we need... don't have to worry about being shot at or stuff, 'cause we're so good at hiding..." He smiled, shaking his head. "I wonder if that vampire chick and that lycan made it out..."
The rat jumped off, skittering away. "Sorry-sorry! I didn't mean it..." He thought aloud, "Did I...?" He shook his head. "Nah. Save your own skin, Ghorkel. Not much else you can do..." He knew, in his heart, he was one of the fastest creatures in New York... not that it would help him against a ground-scouring fireball or something... as his burnt and scarred body attested to... and it's too bad, 'cause he'd be stunningly attractive otherwise. He looked up at the sky. "...Sorry."
He got up off the car, hopping down from the height and fixing his hood over his single horn, the other being broken off... he put on the special 'shoes', covering his horns... and sighed. "Well, now what, hero? What's your big plan?"
