crisis suits are elite choice, therefore icing on a cake... bulk of Tau cadres are supposed to be Fire Warriors

[Sanity_is_for_the_Weak] Naw...Really? Ever heard of farsight and the 8 body guards he has? its 7bodyguards. I like the idea of a unit that can take anything....but that unit canhold scary 1000points worth.and if you loose it.. especial being such a huge target...

-Mykal What do you mean by online? It is in the codex, farsight is an exception to the 2 crisis suit body guard team and can be accompanied by 7 elite soldiers. As mentioned forehand, its a ridiculous amount of points for one squad, a big money waster, especially when they get raped by plasma gun fire.

I still depend on Vast numbers of Fire Warriors, I've got 4 squads of 12. Works perfectly well for me!

Actually, when you have three elite choices and both HQ choices filled with suits that include Farsight, you can have up to about... Let's see... Carry the three... Divide by pi...
HA!
20! Then, including Broadsides (I recommend only 3), you can have up to 23 battle suits!
That's a deadly weapon if used right. wink
My farsight is going to be a custom, so it will have one more attack and his stats will be slightely higher, but that is for recreational games only, because GW wouldn't stand for that. mrgreen
I stopped talking about the suits, because I am poor. I have no money and will not have any for a long time. I have an HQ and two squads of two. I am satisfied, because they have sereved me well so far. I haven't lost a battle in a while. wink

I agree, Im giving up on the battle suit army concept, just too easy to take down. Farsight is too expensive anyways, he limits your army too much and I dont plan on getting a 1500 pt army.

Aw, don't give up on a suit army. I'd want to play it and just see how many Lasgun shots it takes to make them fall over.

thing is...depending on how much you use on each suit..say around 75 because theyre bodyguards. and if you max it out you have around 525points (bodyguards) and 170points (farsight)
So thats 695points. If you keep them safe they should do well but because theyre such a huge unit, they would send thier entire army at that single unit. and if that happens. your screwed coz you can loose 695points in one go.
Just spend the other 805points well on things that your HQ doesnt use. but that doesnt leave you for much for an elite choice as you need to spend the rest on troop choices and heavy weapons.
But you dont always have to max it out...you could just have 3 or 4 body guards.
On another note. Does anyone use pulse carbine warriors? i have 9FW with carbines, and i've just kept them in my box because i dont know what to use for them.
Any tips for using a 9squad of carbines? harrasment or something?

if you are going to use carbines, make sure to have markerlights to bring leaderhsip of targetted units down.

there are some special caracters published online... and no this is in the codex, I checked... Farsight can have super-retinue of 7 Samurai, erm, Battlesuits... imagine poor deathwing facing all thoste twin linked plasmas (possibly with bs4)
