Terra of the Lilies Okay, so at our last competition (at the Naval Academy- it's huge!), there was this shirt place set up by the concessions, with all these AWESOMELY AMAZING band shirts. One of them said, "I'm bringing Saxy back", two girls in my section got them. I wanted one reaaaally badly, but I didn't see the stand until we were leaving. :[ I hope they'll be there again for championships... dude!!! I wuz there mrgreen

I found an alto sax! It's the Yanagisawa 992 Bronze. I don't reccommend this for any other highschool students or under, unless you're gonna take it to college and major in the saxophone. It's beyond comparison; there is nothing that can even slightly notion to how awesome this sax is! It's extremely expensive, though; $4000. Don't get it unless you mean it. (I did!)
Yeah, now I'm testing out different reeds, and I'm on the Rico jazz and vadoren classics. They're O.K., but I've heard that the vandoren ZZ's and Java's are really pro material. Those are next on my list.

Yeah. I play Bari, and one of the things I noticed going from altot to Bari is A) MORE AIRRR and B) You have to drop your jaw just to hit an F#. so yeah. your neck will be sore in the beginning.

I want to get my own sax so badly, but a good quality bari sax can cost upwards of eight grand, and my parents don't want to front that much money for an instrument that's so big... My mom still hasn't forgiven me for changing to the flute.
... now, though, she has to pay for the expenses of two band students, since my brother is in junior high now and he's joined band. I'm excited though, cause we're going on an actual tour this year! We're going out to Halifax, and that's got me excited because I've never been there!

Ya! I can finally say I'm a saxophone player too! I got my first sax on Saturday (I'm a senior in High school and I play flute/picc in class, clarinet on side, and now sax on side too. I'm trying to get into two band classes next semester so I can play flute/picc in one, and sax in the other). Anyway, I'm not super good, but I have picked it up quickly because I play flute (fingerings are the same! ^-^). I've played it at church a couple times since saturday, and it's tons of fun. Oh, btw it's an alto sax (step-up).
For those polls I didn't answer before:
Type: Capital Edition Jupiter Reed: Van Doren 2
