Yeah Sanji does have a chance to which hopefully his haki is good enough to compare against DD. As noted with his fight against Vergo who had powerful haki, it resulted in a fracture within his legs. So if Sanji wants to succeed he better go into this fight with everything he has as his life is literally depending on it.

It was sad yet meaningful as they sailed away without a word only showing the 'X' on their arms showing the strength of their bond and regardless of anything else it would not fade. However Rebecca is a toss up to which it'll take a month or two to find out what she'll do.

What are the chances Luffy will eat it at the heat of the moment to prevent anyone else from having it? If this did happen we'll finally know for certain why a person can only eat one devil fruit. However it's unlikely as Luffy being a rubber man is his signature which ain't changing any time soon.

True...so all in all this really just comes back to we'll have to wait and see...

It really was a touching moment. Well, whatever the outcome, I just hope it's a happy one...or at least can become a happy one.

I thought about that, but I just don't see it happening. I am curious as to why they can only eat one, I just don't think it'll be luffy to answer it...either that or they'll explain why they can't and luffy will turn into an exception.

Well it's been noted in their lore that when you eat a devil fruit, the spirit of that devil becomes a part of you. So trying to take in another one would cause the two devils to fight resulting in the body destroying itself. Of course this is just talk in their universe as there haven't been any hard facts to prove it.

The only known exception to this rule is Black Beard with his darkness ability. It seems to be a very special logia type that allows him to take on as many devil fruit powers he wants.

I guess the devil fruits are another mystery to be solved in the one piece universe.

Whether that's fact or not has yet to be proven though. It could just be because the users body couldn't handle the two different powers or the powers were contradictory to one another.

Yeah, he definitely seems to be a major player for "final enemy" material.

Probably one we won't get.

I actually thought that too on a what if certain devil fruits could get along with others in a complimentary way. Who knows, maybe parts of their original users gets imprinted onto the fruit before being passed on.

Seeing that he's collecting devil fruit abilities all over the grand line of paramecia, zoan, and logia he's going to be one tough son of a gun to take down. He's going to be like Sylar to them all.

Who knows, it might even be connected to the void century.

That would be interesting. That in mind, I don't think Rubber and Fire would go together that well.

Well, that is assuming he can handle using all of those powers.

Possibly.

Very true as a good deal of those powers might contradict each other.

Anyways a new chapter is out. Not a big surprise Sanji didn't win. More then likely the next chapter will be a flash back of 13 years ago.

I didn't expect that large of a gap between their powers. I mean, Doflamingo didn't even see him as an annoyance.

Is it odd that this is one of the few series I look forward to flashbacks from?

I don't like the foreshadowing Trafalgar gave. I'm really hoping he doesn't get himself killed.

Well DD did have to stop just to block him instead of going after his friends. So I'd say strong enough to need to defend himself, but not strong enough to bother fighting seriously.

Because the characters in question are interesting hence why we care to see it not to mention it's new stuff.

Perhaps, but then it crossed my mind that this might be a feint by Law to buy Luffy's crew more time. If his aim really was just DD, then he had no real reason to save Sanji and the rest of them as they were inconsequential to his primary objective. Besides in One Piece, rarely anyone important dies. Just making friends with Luffy, you know law is somehow going to make it.

I hardly call what he was doing even fighting. It seemed more like he was just playing around.

And because we see a lot of interesting characters during them.

You have a point.
Either by some miracle or because Doflamingo does one of the most common bad guy tropes of not dealing the final blow and/or taking him captive.

With that overheat attack that cut a building in half? I hardly call that playing around.

Very true.

Typical bad guy behavior of either talking too much or not finishing the job. I wonder if this is some sort of sickness amongst bad guys.

Considering he only used one of them and he did have that leeway for Law to help him evade..I'd say he was toying around.

Not a clue, I just can't help to think that I'd be better off a villain since I wouldn't bother with gloating or explaining my plans or walking away to leave my foe knocking on deaths door or in a trap. Beat them, end them, be done with it.

Up to subjective reasoning I suppose. But I'm certain we can agree on the fact DD was hardly trying.

Same can be said about the good guys always needing to save the bad guys or inadvertently revealing their weak points and such. Same strategy can apply with just getting the job done with minimal talking needed as well as having more common sense.

But then we are talking about a fictional world hence the whole talking and lousy judgment is kind of a given to entertain the audience.

But in real life, you and I in a very serious situation involving fighting will most likely get badly hurt or perhaps die depending on our choices.

True, I mean in a series like that an intelligent and tactical main would be relatively dull, since it doesn't have the right build for the main character/s to stay at the sidelines until they want to prove a point.

True. There is no plot armor in real life.
