"Roses growing on the walls," Earendil smiled. "It sounds beautiful."

Of course, he was assuming she meant it in the same way that the flowers here were growing on the walls.

He looked at Andarien more closely. The boy seemed fine, it just seemed that he didn't like the taste of the flowers.

"He'll be fine," he assured Lin. "He's just learned his first lesson - not to put everything into his mouth."

Leyenda had gone to talk to the owner of the inn, and now she returned with several keys.

"Rooms for all of us," she grinned. "Come on, let's get our stuff sorted and then find somewhere to wash up, and wash our clothes." She motioned for them all to follow her, then headed towards the door that led to the rest of the inn.

"It would seem she's been here before," Earendil quipped as he started after her.

"Indeed they have," Earendil grinned as Leyenda brought them to a room and handed them a key.

"Two beds," she grinned at them. "That way you can keep Miyuki with you but still have a bed to yourselves. If you want even more space, you could always have Andarien sleep with Miyuki."

"There's a thought," Earendil chuckled. "Though I'd be afraid of Miyuki's tails smothering Andarien in his sleep."

"It's been a while since she's had that," Earendil mused as he stepped into the room that was going to be theirs for the next while. "It's been a long time for all of us."

Despite having two double beds and two chests of drawers, the room was quite spacious, and even had a writing desk and chair. There were a few flowers growing in this room as well, but only in the window in small pots, though the room smelled as if it were freshly aired.

"Very nice," Earendil said, impressed by it. "For a small town it seems to invite visitors."

"True," Earendil agreed, sitting on the edge of one of the beds and setting Andarien on the floor so that he could crawl around. "It'll be good for the kids, too. Andarien especially never has a chance to get any exercise when we're traveling. He needs to move around too. I don't know about chronologically, but at least physically he's around the age where he should be learning to walk."

Opportunities like this were good for him. And Miyuki would get to know the Light Elves a bit too, and their way of life.

"Well, we're in no rush to leave this place," Earendil grinned. He held one hand out to Lin, inviting her to come and sit with him on the bed.

Andarien was amusing himself by crawling around in circles, getting rid of energy without any real destination or purpose in mind. He was antsy after so much traveling, being held almost all of the time.

They settled into the room and very soon Leyenda came to get them again so that they could wash themselves and their clothes, and finally, after quite a while, they were ready to relax and simply enjoy their time in the village.

"So," Earendil grinned, feeling much better now that he was clean and wearing clean clothes. "What shall we do? We could rest a bit, or we could look around the village ... find Haldia and Celeb and Alyarra ..."

Earendil grinned. "Agreed," he said cheerfully. He knelt down and picked up Andarien, who was starting to yawn a bit, and held him against his shoulder. "I think Leyenda said something about them staying in a house, rather than at the inn ..."

He held the door open for Lin and Miyuki. "Maybe she'll still be in the dining room and we can ask her."

Leyenda, Kelirahc and Amalirahc were all already sitting in the dining room, enjoying a late lunch, and they weren't alone: most of the rest of the traveling group was with them, everyone except Halmir and Arthael.

"Hey, you made it!" Kaito grinned cattily when the family appeared. "Took you long enough!"

"We had more to do than anyone else," Earendil replied, chuckling.
