"Right," Nolan said, before turning around and walking away. After a few minutes he came back with a slice of pizza. "Sorry," he said to Mariel as he entered the craft behind her, "just had to get a snack first. Now, ready?"

Mariel frowned. "If you spill any of that... Or if you stink up my ship this is going to be a solo mission, got it?" She said, somehwat joking but mostly serious.

"Mariel, my dexterity is impeccable," Nolan assured her, "and the state of my bowels is returned to normal. My nanomachines confirm it."

Nolan busied himself with managing the computer he was allowed. Although he was a splendid pilot, Mariel would never actually let him - or anyone else - drive her ship. She was the best pilot in the Empire.

"I hope Nina is innocent of any and all crimes." Nolan admitted, eyes distant as he reflected on old memories.

"Well, that's what we're going there to find out... She apparently has a law suit against her by the Queen. Something about money... Could be just a rumor." Mariel started the engines, making the interior of the ship make a brief buzzing noise. "If her hands of clean of any other crimes, she could just get off with a fine..." The ship lifted off the platform and hovered in the air about 6ft from the ground. It didn't have any landing gear, so it was constantly floating, about 10 inches off the ground when not in motion. The ship propelled itself backways the way it came, then stright up at a 90° angle into space.

/c: set course for "SENTENIAL SYSTEM"

The ship turned invisible then burst away, the only clue to those beneath was a flash of light from it's exhaust vent. It hurdled through space at a speed even Jad would be proud of but inside the cockpit, the gravity was equilized so the two crew members felt nothing.

"I seem to forget how exhilarating it is to fly," Nolan commented, "every time I stay out of ships for long periods of time."

He munched on his pizza, but it was evident he felt no overpowering emotions of excitement as the worlds and the stars whizzed by their window.

There was almost no movement inside the ship - if one was put on the ship while asleep, upon waking would not even realize they were going faster than the eye could follow until they looked out a window, and even then only when a stationary object passed by.

Nolan quickly caught a dripping bit of cheese with his hand, sticking the greasy finger in his mouth and quickly licking up the gooey cheese.

"Want to play chess?"

((ya gtg now. hm... I'll probably make even more characters as I attempt to populate this small SPACE. XD later))

"Sure. Gotta do something until we get there." Mariel set the ship to atuo-pilot then spun around in her chair to face Nolan. A table popped up from the floor with chess set all ready for them.

[See ya. I'm going to bed.]

Matt dropped the sword in disgust. "Not my style."

The cabin boy began walking away, fed up with stupid 'training,' but stopped as a weapon held on a rack caught his eye. And did not release it.

Matt walked up to a large stave, examining the weaponry with awe. "Kryxel, what is this weapon?"

"that is a stave." kryxel said picking up a simllar staff swinging it expertly"used by knights wizards and ninjas."

The Pyresian drones stood upon the bridge. the 'leader' unit ordering the others about.

"Prepare to fire."

"W-wait..." wheezed a voice as Jad collapsed through the doorway, "Don't fire..."

"Grand Admiral! Why did you not take the lift?!" The leader unit asked, seemingly appaled.

"The ship has a lift?!" Jad asked, still lying on the floor, "Anyways... stop immediately."

"But, Admiral, we were simply following protocol against primitives..."

"Yeah, sure, whatever. Screw protocol and stop. Some of those 'primitives' down there work for me."

The massive cannons' glow began to fade.

---

It would be noted that Dr. Len took the opportunity to retrieve his lab equipment and load it into Shina's ship, as the Myna units registered him as a creator as well, leaving the scientist alone as he made plans to get the hell away from the fighting.

---

Shina watched as the cannon glow faded, "Okay... I guess they changed their minds?"

[Blar!]

"So what do we do now? If Jad is inside that thing, it looks like he's got the situation under control..." Nina looked down at Blake, then at Damien, both on the ground in pain. She wasn't sure if Damien was still alive. She sighed. "Should we wait for him or get these guys back on the ship so they don't die here?"

The Dark Eagle lifted off the ground, empty of passengers. It was seemingly lifted by the massive ship and pulled into the ship's fighter bay.

Jad's voice called out from the ship above, "Well, I hve good news and bad news. The good news is that the ship is now under my control. the bad news is that anyone who is hostile to Atlantis here is pretty much fair game for my new anicent xenocidal robots... So yeah..."

Jad's voice then came from Nina's comm, "Hey! guess what? This is what we came for... soooo... we should leave, 'cause Sentinel is broadcasting a high-strength S.O.S. signal to the Imperial fleet..."

Vexis was completely unaware of what was going on, she just stood there staring at Damien, almost as if time itself had stopped for her alone while the universe went on. Why was she hesitating to kill him? It was her goal to find and kill Damien just less than a day ago, and now was the perfect opportunity -why not take it? Vexis wasn't sure of what to do now, would she really let greed win over her true beliefs? Vexis was probably going to regret this either way.

Rosa just ignored Vexis after calling out her name about six times, obviously she wasn't hearing any of it. Rosa looked back at Nina now, awaiting whatever came next. "The more logical choice would be to wait for Jad, however, if enemies were to attack us during that time, I would not be able to operate for much longer with this level of energy. Either way risks still exist..."

((I can only get on sometime after 4:30 on weekdays. That's cause I don't get home from school before then. And even at that, I usually have homework to do... which reminds me... I should probably try to remember if I have any....))

The crumpled form of Marth shifted, then rose, the revived alien staring at those around him. Then at Blake and Maggie. Then at Aerclayr's corpse.

Marth walked slowly over to Aerclayr, holding a hand over his abdomen, as if still in pain. Or maybe, the pain was caused not by physical malady, but by the memory of being stabbed. Either way, the green being stared down at Aerclayr, evidently caught somewhere between the emotions of sorrow and regret.

"I'm sorry... my cousin. I'm sorry I was not strong enough to save either of our families. I only saved Maggie... she was the most important thing in the world to me... and in doing so, I killed you, my cousin. May not it be directly, or in any quick amount of time... but my doings were your undoing. And Fate has spared me once again...."

This was the most of a vigil Aerclayr's corpse would warrant, however. More important people were still alive... more important people were still relying on him. Wordlessly, Marth turned and first slung Maggie over his right shoulder then Blake over his left. He seemed to be completely comfortable under the wait.

"Where is your ship? We-" he said, referring to himself and his two comrades, "-are leaving."

"Eheh... nice to have you back," Blake commented, though the pain made him gasp and the captain narrowly avoided fainting. He went still, however, resigned to the pain that was now his.

Nolan smiled as the chess board rose up. He checked to make sure his shirt - he had changed out of the droll white uniform as soon as possible, donning his favored black getup - was devoid of pizza dropping, then swiveled to face the board.

"You can go first."

Lark turned, breathing in the moisture in the air. Plants... they didn't kill or threaten or steal to survive... most of them, anyway. They didn't blame others for wrongdoings; they were not capable of wrongdoing. They weren't greedy, lazy, envious, complacent, or in want of anything. They just existed, and their passing left the world, or worlds, better for it. Unlike humans. Unlike Shifters. Unlike Elxonians, Pyresians, Eseptians, or any other kind of sentient life. They made the world a better place, not just by means of convenience, but by means of actually working to help promote the planet's well-being.

They weren't like non-sentient animals, either. They could not hurt her. They could not ever hurt Lark. Or... or Talon, either.

"What." She said towards Talon, either unaware or uncaring of his altered state of existence.

Matt gingerly touched the stave, admiring its beauty and texture. Although he himself did not know it, staves were very powerful weaponry, longer than swords, stronger than maces, and very easily the most graceful weapon made for human hands.

With a stave, one could deliver a skull-crushing blow. Worse - one could deliver two at the same time. Staves were well-suited for combat against multiple enemies, and could crush regular armor like paper. They were also completely safe at every part for the wielder, while completely deadly at every part for the enemy. Staves were truly masterful weapons.

"This... is beautiful," Matt commented dramatically.
