"Merci." What a gentleman. She liked him already. Sasha took her seat to the left of Kirsa, making it so Ivann didn't have to walk past anyone to get to his. "I'm not sure what we're doing after this to be honest." Much to no-one's surprise, Sasha was never really one for planning. She found a much greater joy in letting life happen naturally. Planning ahead ruined the spontaneous energy that made life so fun. "I'm sure we'll figure it out when this whole thing is over." she smiled, crossing her legs and placing her hands on her lap. Her leg began to shake slightly as she waited for it to begin. It was pretty exciting.
----
"Mm," Mike replied simply, giving Flannery's head a little pat. "Now let's not waste any time and grab a seat before things start up." Right as he said that the crowd grew quiet, and a tall, dignified and rugged man, very unlike most of the other frail pencil pusher professors he had been used to seeing, took the stage. "s**t!" Grabbing Flannery's hand, Mike made a mad dash to the nearest open seats he could find. He looked around frantically, finally spotting one. Thank god, it was next to Kilik. With a mostly unnecessary leap, Mike landed on the chair with a small crash, prompting those surrounding him to jump in their seats and look around. He sat down quickly, pretending to be just as surprised as everyone else. He waved for Flannery to sit next to him, then looked over at his friend. He had a bit of a spacey look on his face. "Yo Kilik." he gave the boy's shoulder a light punch. "Miss me?"

Alice gave a brig and bright smile. "Great! My name is Alice! I'm a knowledgeable Pokemon breeder and-" Kadaj nipped at her fingers to cut her off. Right! I don't want bombard them. She nervously shifted her hair behind her ear and adjusted her wide brimmed hat. She then went through her black bag (which totally clashed with her yellow dress) to grab a map and a fuzzy blue sweater. It was cold and she had no sleeves on her sun dress.
"Well, we are close to two major cities." She squinted due to the low light. "North is Veilstone and south is Hearthome." She then folded the map neatly and wedged it between two books in her bag. "So, which way do we go?"

As Crenu get settled he gave the area another little sweep, it looked like this really was a big event. The lights, the speakers, and even a big screen, they spared no expense in this announcement that was looking like it might rock the foundation of the pokemon world. Perhaps that was a tad dramatic, but whatever it was the crowd seemed to be quite excited, probably because it was also a big secret. Truth be told the whole thing was starting to annoy him a little, but curiosity got the best of him and he decided to stick around. It was around this time that he noticed two girls also hanging around away from the mob of people closer to the stage, particularly the one with the black and white bikini top. She was actually quite attractive, but more interesting than anything else. She too didn't appear very fond of the idea of getting swallowed up by the crowd and was still dressed more for the beach itself despite the drop in temperature. Not like he was one to say anything as he was still in his black shorts and gray tank top, but he was comfortable and she must have been as well. She appeared indifferent to the cooling air, which meant that she was either use to colder temperatures or she was just good at hiding it. The former seemed more likely as he himself wasn't adversely affected, having grown up in the eerie town of Ecruteak he was no stranger to a good chill and found it rather inviting in comparison to the heat that had been bothering him earlier. He continued to watch her and her friend as they appeared to get closer, his attention only drawn away by the sound of Prof. Rowan's voice. "So it begins."

Riza frowned a bit when she realized how hard these chairs were, but she'd get over it. She glanced over at Serenity again, sensing the younger girl's anxiety and she gave her a reassuring smile. It was the only thing she could to do help her new friend feel better, since she didn't know what to say thanks to her stunted social skills. She looked around again, realizing that the blonde guy was watching her and she smiled inwardly. He didn't look overly friendly, but he was quite attractive in his own right, especially if a girl went for the tall, blonde and broody type. 'When you've got it, flaunt it,' she thought, leaning back in her seat as a tall and well dressed man took his place up on the stage, clearing his throat in order to get the attention of all the people who were there.
Riza didn't have a hard time seeing even from where she was sitting, thanks to her height, and just as Professor Rowan began to speak, she felt one of her pokeballs began to shake and suddenly Ralts was sitting happily in her lap. "You behave yourself now," she whispered, tapping the little psychic on the head and waggling a finger at her. "That means no teleporting!" Ralts only grinned in reply and waggled her hand back at Riza, giggling a bit before she too turned her attention towards what the impressive looking professor had to say. * * * * * The Starly had been sitting so peacefully that when she attacked, neither Genki nor Katie had been expecting it. The surprise quick attack struck Genki squarely in the gut and sent him staggering back so that he landed on his but. Genki stood up and shook himself, still a bit in shock that he'd been attacked just out of nowhere.
"Look out, Genki! She's coming back," Katie called, and when the Chimchar looked up, sure enough the Starly had flown up and was now on another collision course with the fiery chimp. Genki was ready this time though, and as the Starly flew at him he jumped up, doing a neat little tumble in mid air to avoid the hit. "Nice job, Genki! Now get her with your ember!" Katie shouted.
The bird gave an indignant chirp when her attack missed, though this time, when she went to attack, she received a face-full of hot embers, courtesy of Genki. With a screech the Starly began to fall, though she was able to flap her wings a bit to soften her landing. Her wings and tail still felt like they were on fire, but that was because she'd been burned by the last attack. She tried to get to her feet and hobble away, but she found her path blocked by that horrible, fire breathing orange thing. When she tried to go the other way, he jumped at her and pinned her to the ground, calling out to Katie for now it was her turn.
"Go pokeball!" the orange haired girl shouted, throwing the sphere at the downed Starly. Genki jumped back as the ball got closer, watching with amusement and anxiety as the small bird was pulled inside.

As cute as the little Aipom was, Keegan wasn't sad to see Robin pull the energetic monkey off his head (as well as a few bright red hairs, it seemed) and sit him down in her lap. "Oi..." he murmured, though it did make him feel better to know that even if he couldn't get people to like him, at least Pokemon would. He sighed and leaned back in his chair, glad that this thing was finally getting started. He'd very much enjoyed the day (though in truth he would have preferred to spend a bit more of it in the company of his bikini-clad girlfriend) and he felt like a lot had been accomplished, even with the strident mismatch against Jaeshan earlier in the day. With a smirk he lightly taped the Pokeball on his belt that contained Helios, as only he and that Riza girl had known about the Ninetales' evolution. He hadn't figured out a way to properly introduce Helios and his new form yet, but that time would come. A hushed silence fell over the crowd as a man with the most ridiculous mustache Keegan had ever seen took his place up at the podium and began to speak.
The redhead wanted to pay attention to the prestigious Professor Rowan, but he found himself to be perpetually looking at the cute blonde positioned at his side. At one point he put his arm around her, suddenly needing her to be closer to him. He inexplicably felt anxious and even a little scared, and though he was aware of the fact that Kasiya was the stronger trainer of the two of them, he still felt the need to protect her from things her Pokemon could not. ===== "How do you like Curse?" Morty called out, already holding up a second Pokeball. "At the cost of energy, it inflicts damage on the opponent Pokemon." Though he was down one Pokemon, he didn't seem to be bothered by it at all. He flung the Pokeball, revealing a strange, bluish ghost that seemingly wore a beaded necklace. The top of its head was decorated with hair that was constantly moving even though there was no wind. On the scoreboard, this Pokemon's picture appeared beneath Gastly's, and the referee signaled for them to begin. "Misdreavus, use Confuse Ray!" Morty shouted, wasting no time. The beads around Misdreavus' neck began to glow brightly, creating a hypnotic wave that seemed to pass through the entire gym.
Still afflicted by the Curse, Starrie's movements became a little more staggered than usual and it spun around on the spot a few times before falling flat on its back, core blinking erratically. No, not confusion and a curse, Miharu thought, looking over at the Misdreavus angrily. But then, her eyes lit up as she recalled the gym rules that had been stated earlier. "Starrie, return!" the small girl shouted, pulling the Staryu back into his Pokeball. There, that should erase both the curse and Starrie's confusion, she thought, taking up a second ball and throwing it. "Let's go, Lily! Use your Leech Seed!"
The diva of a Bulbasaur appeared on the battlefield in front of her trainer, pink petals raining down around her as usual. The grass type looked up at her opponent and took a few steps and leaned forward, three large, brown seeds firing from the bulb on her back. The three seeds shot through the air and went directly inside the ghost and disappeared. Neither Miharu nor Morty knew if it would be effective as of yet.

Kilik smiled over at M.A. It was a rather nice feeling knowing now that Saebum didn't hate him, and more importantly, that she was single. The boy was just about to open his mouth to ask her something, but suddenly felt a punch to his shoulder. "Ooph!" he grasped at his shirt then glanced over. "Oh, hey Mike. I just saw you at the Center," he laughed, "Didn't give me much time to even attempt to miss you." Kilik gave Mike a pound and then turned his attention quickly to the stage. Professor Rowan was a very intimidating man. He looked at the briefcase. It's either got Pokemon or a shotgun, he thought, gulping. Kilik sank in his seat a bit; it didn't obscure his vision, as he was tall enough to still see over the sea of heads.
Elekid clambered up a little bit higher to see where the voice was coming from. Boy oh boy did that guy look official! Was this what the whole party was about? It certainly seemed so, since it looked like everyone and their mother was here to see this guy! Cable listened with open ears to whatever it was that this Rowan guy had to say, regardless if it pertained to him.
Mazarin froze in the middle of town. He hadn't actually seen Professor Rowan come out to make his announcement but heard his voice over the speaker system within the city. "I'MMA MISSIN' IIIIT!" he whined, turning sharply on his heel as he dashed towards the museum. Banette let out a muffled yell as well, jumping into the ground and following along as Mazarin's shadow.

The Espeon nestled in Ryka's lap continued purring as she was being pet. Ryka ran her fingers through Iris's soft fur, and bumped them against something smooth. She fingered the sun-shaped charm strung around Iris's neck. It shined in the soft light of the orange setting sun that hid behind the waves. Ryka's eyes turned towards the sunset, and she dove into her thoughts. Iris looked up at Ryka and mewed, questioning. "Our next gym is the one in Vermillion, is it not?" Her eyes were still staring towards the waves. "That is.. Lt. Surge."
Lt. Surge... Ryka thought. Her eyes turned towards Kasiya now, who was waving at Ryka. Ryka smiled and waved back, but continued watching her friend in curiosity. Kasiya was watching the pink-haired girl next to Ryka, and had pulled out her PokeDex. Something interesting? Ryka looked over her shoulder again to find the little girl humming and swinging her feet, which barely touched the ground. In her lap was a small, black Pokemon wrapped in a yellow coat.. Ryka recognized this as a Snorunt. But the purple balloon floating above the girl was something that Ryka didn't recognize. She noticed Kasiya's frusterated face when her PokeDex couldn't scan the Pokemon. An unknown Pokemon? That is strange..
Ryka only had a few seconds to think before everyone quieted. Spotlights shone on the stage, and a tall man with the most interesting facial hair walked into the center. His large briefcase made a small donk sound when he set it down, making it seem quite heavy. Ryka tried her best to keep her attention focused on the man, but often found her eyes wandering back to a certain blond boy..

The red and white sphere clattered on the ground, rocking back and forth. Both Katie and Genki watched its every movement, neither of them even daring to breath until the pokeball finally became still, and a gentle ping sound rang through the air. Katie grinned, and did a victory twirl, her dress fanning out all around her as she did so. "All right! We did it!" she cheered, jumping up and down.
"Chimmm chaaar!" Genki cried, also hopping around excitedly. His flame was burning brighter than Katie had ever seen it, and it made her happy to see him this way.
"We caught a female Starly," Katie announced to no one in particular, picking up the now-occupied poke ball from the ground. "I'm going to name you Noa," she said, making the ball smaller by clicking the button before she placed it into one of the small pokeball-pockets on her dress. She remembered that the little Starly had been burned by Genki's ember and that she should get back to the pokecenter in Jubilife to get her, as well as Genki, all healed up. The Chimchar was looking exhausted now and Katie thanked him for a job well done before returning him to his ball as well. Katie's pace was quick as she headed back in the direction she'd came, yet again.

Crenu, who had decided to raimain standing, scoped the sitting trainers pokemon in search for anything interesting. Scratchign his head suddenly, a sharp pain shot through his forhead that made him wince for a moment before regaining his composure. He had already forgotten about the fresh scar above his right eye, looks like it was still sore after only a day or so of not listening to the nurse's order to stay in bed. He was still listening to whatever was goign on on the stage, but he figured he didn't need to really pay attention during the introduction. Old folk had a habbit of saying more than they needed to. There were plenty of pokemon he recognized from his region and the Kanto area, but there were even more that he didn't have a clue about. They must have been from the Hoenn region, as there were sure to be more trainers from this region than any other attending. One pokemon that really caught his eye was a purple balloon looking thing that bobbed around to oddly to be just a regular ballon. The girl that appeared to own the balloon thing was waving at, Kasiya? "Heh, small world." Crenu said to himself as he looked around further, noting a girl behind Kasiya with an Espion. Quite the rare pokemon, he hadn't seen once since he'd left Ecruteak, he didn't remember exactly which one of the Kimono girls had one. He thought he saw the Espions trainer looking him and cocked an eyebrow as he took in her features. She seemed like a pretty tough trainer with a strong pokemon, but he wasn't about to wade through a crowd for a better look at her Espion. He shrugged it off and continued to look around, noticing that the girl with the black and white bikini top had let out a pokemon that looked like a smaller version of that psychic pokemon Mitsu had. Curious, Crenu decided to move closer to her and her friend seeign as they, like him, were at the edge of the mob. "Interesting pokemon. Psychic type?"

Giovanni entered his rather extravagant and large helicopter. The cockpit itself was small, only large enough for one pilot. The rest of the copter, however, was made to look exactly like his office. It was roughly the same size as well, minus the desk. Instead there was a 5-by-8 table in the middle. Giovanni's Persian was already waiting for him inside. When his master appeared, he stood up and pranced over to his chair, waiting for his usual pat on the head. The man took his seat in the large red chair and placed his ringed hand on the cat's head, petting him softly between the ears.
"Everything is ready, sir," said the pilot before closing the door that led into the cockpit. The engines kicked on. Giovanni glanced over his shoulder at the map of the world behind him. A dart was pinned on Slateport City. A woman in a flight attendant's uniform (though she had a Rocket pin on her chest) was also in the replicated office. As the roof to the Viridian Gym opened, she offered him a glass of whiskey on the rocks. For once, however, the man refused.
"A glass of water," he requested. A screen lowered itself from the ceiling, hanging above the table. It crackled on and began to show a four-way split screen. On the top left was what the helicopter's camera was picking up below them. Right now it merely showed the top of the Viridian City Gym. The top right was a live news feed of the Slateport party. The camera was placed on Professor Rowan, with a few heads from the front row thrown in. On the bottom right was one of their Wingull Surveillance cameras, who happened to be positioned right above the crowd that was eagerly awaiting the announcement from the Professor. And finally, on the bottom left, was the camera on one of his under cover Grunts' jackets. This, too, was within the seminar's limits. The camera was placed at another angle on Professor Rowan, but the briefcase was the main focus of the image.
Giovanni smirked. This was it. He closed his eyes.

"What some of you have probably noticed by now, is that some of your pokemon have been exhibiting strange behavior, or using strange attacks. Well there is a reason for this. Rather recently we finished the majority of our studies on a region of land that was previously closed off and hidden from the rest of the world. Well since he have slowly started letting people and pokemon from the region over here we think that energy from that region has leaked over here and enabled what moves are usually locked away inside pokemon on this side of the world. Soon pokemon from this region will be able to use these moves at anytime they wish." Professor Rowan paused for a moment to let the crowd absorb this information. He watched as some trainers nodded knowing that they had seen the strange new moves for them selves.
"Now if that wasn't exciting enough there is more news." Picking up a remote on the podium Rowan turned the projector on and after a second there was a map on the screen that showed a rather large area. "As I mentioned before there was a hidden region. This place is called Sinnoh, and just a week ago they decided that they would open their borders and allow trainers from all over to enter there land. They can capture the new and native pokemon of Sinnoh and participate in there pokemon gym challenge."
As he spoke he hit the slide buttons on the remote showing images of strange pokemon. On the first slide there was a picture of a ferocious blue and black lion like pokemon. The next slide depicted what looked like a very snowy area which had a small community of white and green tree sort of pokemon. The third slide depicted a picture of what looked like a huge land shark that was easily tearing through a mountain as if it was nothing at all. The next and last slide depicted three pokemon, a water, grass and fire type. "Unfortunately I could not bring any of the pokemon over with me so you will just have to settle with these slides. Of course you can ask any questions as well."

Aidan did look somewhat embarrassed at Jun's accusation but he hid it easily. In truth he would have liked to leave a note for the kids to tell them where he was going but he had a small problem. He had never gone to school properly and could barely read and even that gave him troubles, writing was way out of the question. While he made the kids go to school as much as he could there was just never the time for him to go or learn. Shifting uncomfortably he glanced towards the ground for a second listening while Alice introduced herself.
It would be good to have someone who at least knew a lot about pokemon, since it seemed like he and Jun had little to no clue about a lot of them. Listening to the town's that were near him he knew that he did not want to go to Veilstone right away. He was pretty sure that the Wild Boy's would be headed there when they decided to leave town. Well he wouldn't feel to bad about leaving the kids if the gang was leaving soon to. "I wouldn't like to go to Vielstone." He muttered, he didn't think the two would listen to him all to much though. Still he voiced his own opinion and he just hoped that Jun would forget about the fact that he wasn't writing a note to the kids telling them about where he was going or why he had left even.

Riza listened a bit to the professor, quite intrigued by the prospect of a new region to explore. 'So that's what all the excitement is about,' she thought, scratching her chin. 'New pokemon and places to explore.' Riza didn't know if she really wanted to go off to this Sinnoh place right away. After all, she wanted to explore her homeland of Johto a bit more first and maybe even try her hand at a badge or two before the Johto contest season began.
It was then that she noticed the blonde boy coming closer to her and she grinned inwardly. "Why yes, actually," Riza said, keeping her voice low. "Good guess." Now that the boy was closer Riza was able to get a good look at him. He looked as though he'd been in some sort of fight recently, and the scar above his right eye looked painfully fresh. 'Well this guy is kinda interesting,' she thought, wondering just what he'd done to get so roughed up. 'And he's kinda cute too.' Riza studied him for a moment or two more before deciding not to ask about his injuries. Ralts, meanwhile, had turned her attention on the boy and was also studying him curiously. She shivered a little as she got a bit of a cold vibe from him, but he didn't seem like a bad person. She looked up at Riza and giggled. Her trainer sure had strange taste in friends. * * * * * It was quite easy for Katie to get back to Jubilife, especially when she didn't have to worry about keeping an eye on Genki. She saw a few people walking or biking along as she walked, but she paid them little attention. Right now she needed to get her two Pokemon healed and that was the only thing that mattered to her.
She arrived back in her hometown quite promptly and she went straight for the pokecenter. As she she stepped inside she noticed it was fairly busy, though on closer inspection she realized that most of the people in her way weren't actually in line for treatment for their Pokemon. "Get out of my way," she snapped, pushing her way through the crowd of people. "Can't you see I'm trying to walk here?!" she growled, casting a particularly nasty glare at a girl holding onto a small, pink Pokemon with big, red eyes and a swirl on its forehead. For the most part, the crowd parted to let Katie through, and she smiled when she heard the small murmur go through the crowd. It seemed that most of the people knew who she was, or more importantly, who her mother was, and they did not want to cross her. "Better," Katie sneered as she took her place in line.
The line moved rather quickly, which was nice for Katie, and soon she was handing her two pokemon to the busy nurse. "Oh, you've captured your first Pokemon, Katie? Congratulations," the nurse said as she hurried away to treat them.
"Yes, thanks," Katie said, beaming at the praise. She drummed her fingers on the counter top and waited for the return of Genki and Noa.

At the mention of odd moves, Crenu's interest in what the professor was saying spiked. He listened as he spoke of a new region whos borders had been closed until only recently with all new pokemon and such. The idea of energy from the region awakening sleeping pokemon moves was hard to believe, but it wasn't like he had a better theory. Heh, another region, another set of trainers to fight against. Crenu took in each slide, that snow covered tree looking pokemon interested him the most. It was something the merited some exploration, but Crenu still had matters to attend to back home. He only had one badge from Falkner and Mitsu had peaked his interest in those appeal contests for pokemon, the name of which escaped him at the moment. Not to mention he still knew nothing about the Hoenn region or its pokemon either. Crenu hadn't decided on where he'd go from the beach party, but that didn't matter now. He turned his attention back to the girl who appeared to be studying him, strangely as interested in her now as he was in her pokemon. "I've met its evolved form not long ago, but I was really going out on a limb." He looked at the little green headed pokemon and watched it study him, then giggle up at its trainer. There was somethign odd about this pokemon, the way it acted was almost human like, more so than some of the other pokemon Crenu had seen up to this point. He recalled that Mitsu's pokemon talked to him telepathically, wondering if this little guy was capable of that as well. "Names Crenu."

Kasiya listened attentively as Professor Rowan began to speak, though she couldn't help but be a little distracted by the redhead next to her. Keegan was being incredibly cuddly, even a little more than usual, and even though it was welcoming and nice, it didn't do much to quell the feelings of dread she'd had pretty much all day. She sighed and rested her head on Keegan's shoulder, looking towards the screen as Rowan began to show them images of new Pokemon. The blue and black lion caught her attention first and foremost. It seemed so strong, yet it had the look of loyalty in its eyes. Wow, it's so beautiful, she thought, giggling a bit at the snowy-tree Pokemon. The one ripping apart the mountain kind of scared her, yet somehow its power appealed to her. When the final slide was shown, Kasiya's eyes went wide at the three of them. "That one's so cute!" she giggled, pointing at the little blue penguin Pokemon. The others were cute too, but for some reason she found herself drawn to the Water-type.
At the mention of questions, Kasiya's hand shot up almost instantly. All she really wanted to know were the names of the two Pokemon that had caught her interest.
=-=-=-=-= Jaeshan looked up at Professor Rowan as he made his way on stage, taking in the man's appearance. He didn't look like any other professor he'd ever met before, but it was more amusing than anything else. Though he was a bit intimidation, he seemed to really know what he was talking about, and Jaeshan wondered what it would be like to visit the Sinnoh region. The Pokemon seemed to be pretty interesting, though Rowan only showed them a handful, and Jaeshan found himself liking the small, leafy turtle (which he assumed to be a Grass-type).
Jaeshan also had the funny feeling that he was being watched, though the idea seemed a bit ridiculous since he was surrounded by people. Of course I'm being watched, he thought, shaking his head. There were so many people around, it was hard to be missed.
