so I have come to realize that it can be hard to get laid off from work. Lately here in hte office, people have een getting laid off all over the place... Agents, Supervisors, Managers, Quality.... No one is safe. Also, I recently applied for the Armed forces. Now, when I get my call to head off to Basic Training with the Forces... I will be away from home for a min., of 3 months. Then another Few weeks - Few months for my trade training. So I fugred, before I go, iwould liek some time to myself, to sit back and relax before my months of hell begin. Nkwoing that I have been in this office for more then 2 years, I now have 6 months of severance pay. So, I have been trying to get laid off I'm doing next to no work, not tracknig what I do, yadda yadda yadda.... As it is this week I have watched a few movies here. This morning alone, I came in and took a nap, and now I am going to watch the movie Funny Games. And yet.... here I still sit, with my job, lol.

I think it's smarter if you yourself tell your boss that you quit instead of trying to get fired. For starters it looks better when you apply for another work if you chose to quit rather then you were laid of because you did nothing at all.

well, if it comes down to the wire, im ust gonna go to my boss and tell him whats up and that I have to leave the job. Only thing, I don't get my severance package that way. Nor can I apply for my EI coverage. And see, right now, getting laid off wolud not look bad on my part in any way. This coperation is going through a phase of World Wide Downsizing.

Laid off = The company is shrinking their current work for for whatever reason and is generally forgiven when other see it on a resume
Getting fired = GET YOUR s**t AND GET OUT! Also, is usually not overlooked.
I know you're trying to get laid off, and it sounds like for a good reason, but I believe if you keep it up you will be fired. Generally, they keep the skeleton system on a work force, just enough people to hold things up, when they gut the company. So, I think, you might be one of those (un)lucky few who have been selected to be one of those skeleton men. If I took my guess, I'd say you are a femur.
Also, thank you for enlisting in the Armed Forces. With what's going on, you might get sent to Georgia instead of the middle east, but we will see how that area of the world turns out. Anyway, just thanks again for being an American hero
