Actually, my character'd have a decided advantage if ice were converted to steam. His ability to spawn fire isn't exactly.. the normal means you see in many roleplays. =P In fact, that's why I kept wishing one of my tournament opponents would just see it as far as, ".. !! WATER > FIRE! LOL!" and stick exclusively with trying to flood me out.
Would've been the biggest massacre in this entire tournament.
BUT SNOW, you could.. perhaps, form a means of changing the state of your 'ice' - ya know, mist to solid, as an example? It's a variation of Azurino's idea.
If so, you could develop thousands of means of stealthy attacks; example: Coat your fists in what appears to be idle moisture, start a punch at someone from a good two feet away [usually, two far away for one to consider possible to actually hit-] then, have the moisture condense into ice again and extent out rapidly, almost like a pike.
Quick, hard to notice, harder to dodge, deadly. =P

Azurino -- Tried that before. Failed. The opponent turned the steam into a big field of electrical charge. xP
Omi -- Tried that too. The b*****d just said that he had a fire coating on his armor or such, melting the ice before it could do any impact at him at all. *Kills the toad*
Water is greater than fire - but do imagine - water is hard to generate, and the opponent can then argue that the stamina would be drained with a few short posts. One can only go so far with water manipulation before people cry out godmodding. Bastards, all of them. stressed
I was thinking of using the moisture as lethal blades instead. When they approach me, the water condenses and slashes through the air like a knife. eek I'll do that to Trei and see how that happens. twisted

The fire coated armor person being a certain individual that got DQed outta the tourney? [Snow]: YOU CAN'T KILL TOAD!  And sounds like an entertaining idea. How durable would the substance be, by chance, once it condenses to that point? =P Or would this focus more on a quick, sharp attack rather than durability?
But, I'm sure you saw why I enjoy battling anyone utilizing raw, liquid water in my explanation of my "technique" in the bout we had itself. I can brag as being, likely, the single highest anti-water character [by circumstance] in the tournament. Only person I'd rather face, would be someone that utilizes say, large amounts of blood in some shape or manner. Would not be a pleasant day for someone like that. Hell, if for whatever zany reason, there was a corpse out on the field..
On the flip side of the coin, I've noticed a number of characters in this tournament that, just by design, would be very difficult to exploit in the manner I'm gesturing at. 'Course, I won't name who.. that'd spoil the fun. domokun

Typhoon_Omi .. Swear to God, I must be slipping. I swear I didn't see that post before. O_o; ANYWHO! Sounds rather interesting, especially the last part. No trying to slit my throat open while simultaneously attempting to graft a monstrous bee into an open gash on my left arm with the intention of it burrowing through & bursting some immediate blood vessels, I hope? [Out of tournament moment recently. Can't say Omi's had a.. particularly good stroke of luck.]

Okay, we are thinking of two different kinds of mock battles. What I was thinking is a kind of void battle. Has no place anywhere in your character's storyline or has any impact. It was as if it was just a dream. I was thinking a 'friendly' match in which either person could kill the other. This being since this is 'all but a dream' and will have no impact on reality. While it 'is a dream,' obviously we can't have monstrous bee appear outta nowhere unless you can summon one (whatever the hell the kind of munch is called for summoning things outta nowhere 'conveniently' despite not having that ability). If you ever fought in the Leviathan Stadium, it would be as if we were fighting in the Ethereal Void Thread.
