Graphical, mainly. I just don't dig that first-person super-blocky stuff.

That is what makes Minecraft so special. Minecraft isn't blocky even though everything in it is a block, it is just that I visualize it as a blown up version of a pixel game, where every block represents 1 pixel.
Smaller blocks. o wo And yes, third person. The differences help.

Terraria is 2D, more interesting to look at and has an emphasis on adventuring WITHOUT the use of mods. Not to mention all the things you can make, again, without the use of mods.
There's just so much more to Terraria then there is to Minecraft. Though Minecraft is more geared toward creation, while Terraria is more about the adventure.
