But how to go about doing it himself then. He supposed the most feasiable solution would be to hunt down someone with a summoning contract, but that was not quite as easy as it sounded. First of all summoning contracts just didn't grow on trees. The only person he could recall actively using them in relation to what he ahd personally been connected to was the summoner they supposedly had here in Kiri, with his turtles, and of course the Ninja who had defeated Kyojin senpai about two years ago with the defeat of Shi no Saakasu. The latter was actually notable because it was said to be the very same summoning contract that the devil of Oto himself had used so many years ago. he wondered how he had gotten his hands on that...

But regardless. He probably couldn't just walk up to any of them and ask how to get to the spirit world.

Well sure it sounded like something that he would do, yes, but at the same time, it would probably raise more then a few eyebrows. And anyway, it was a small chance that even THEY would know themselves. He didn't know too specifically about the art of summoning, but he suspected that it was no simple matter. Entering the spirit world was not just going to be a walk down to the corner market either. If he'd hazard a guess, the best chances that he had, would probably be to ask a summon spirit itself. That would most likely be his best chance at breaching the barrier between the worlds. But where to find one at THIS hour? he jested silently to himself. No, they weren't going to be all that easy to track down either.

His best bet, most probably, would be to seek out on eof the aforementioned summoner and request to speak to one of their summon spirits. He doubted that a ninja of Oto would be all to eager to talk to him what with the recent invasion going on but... but now that he thought about it, if he was one of the ninja that was brought on to serve the Clan...in the new regime of Oto, Then maybe, just maybe, there was a chance.

But that was bound to be more complex then simply trying to hunt down the current head of the Hoshigaki clan and asking to speak to one of his turtles. he suspected that if he could find said leader, he probably wouldn't mind. If he asked nicely, most people were happy to answer his questions before they entered the dozens. He probably had a gift for it, he'd imagine.

The revelation, this marvelous truth that had come to him amidst his ardous training. It was bringing him elation! Strength! This was the fastest that he had ever progressed so far in this arduous training, he felt lighter then air now! Yes, that was the answer. And it was feasible answer even, one that didn't really even need to be necessarily dangerous or, new to him, kept hidden. what he was actually theorizing was something that he could...SHARE. Without lying, even. The very concept was bit odd to him. Most everything that followed along with his rather strange life was to be kept hidden. His main motivations and thoughts obscured from those around him, but this, the most audacious and indeed, out there, of his plans, he could actually go around telling to people? In a way, it was rather refreshing!

He supposed even if he couldn't get an audience with the head of the Hoshigaki, he could always seek out a summoning contract of his own. While the contracts themselves were rare, he suspected that with enough time and his research skills and perseverance, he would be able to track one down. If only because most things came to those who was as persistent as he was. If he managed to attain the contract, then it would only be a matter of working together with the spirits of that contract to find a way to summon HIM into the spirit world, where he could work on becoming more like them. He'd heard of sages who'd done something similar in the past, but such arts were lost so long ago that there was a much chance that they were legend. No, what he wanted was very different. While that was a matter of absorbing the chakra around one's self to empower them, which was apparently how it had gone, he wanted to actually imbue himself with this power, reinforcing his very being...extending his youth and life force...indefinitely...

Assuming he managed that...assuming that he actually managed to pull all that through. A sort've warm relaxing energy seemed to seep through him despite the stress and sheer maddening experience he was putting his body through at this moment. He would be able to relax...be able to forget about hurrying himself to live his life. He could finally lay back and take things easy. after that was attained and his freedom was one, which he intended to assert this very day...well, his long term problems would pretty much be on ice. He'd be able to relax and lay back at ease for a while. Or forever, as it was. regardless. he'd be able to focus on merely getting strong, and learning all he could along the way. Yes... he very much liked the sound of that.

Rather pleased at his idea, the young boy could not have known that he was, at a base level, so very different from the one who had discovered the supposed secret to immortality so long ago. That he was different from the one who had a place in the serpent contract four spaces above the name of Xenon Maboroshi. Yes, indeed, he couldn;t really have much way of knowing that merely because he was, rather than secretly afraid of death, trying to run from it, he was facing it openly, as not something to be feared by an opponent grater than any he'd ever seen...but still something to be fought. He viewed it as just another element in the universe at large and measured it's abilities and facets as he might anything else. He saw death as a foe to be fought...not an inevitability to be hid from, or even still a mountain to be climbed.

There were other differences of course, more subtle...more...subdued. But there. He wanted to learn because he was curious...not out of fear. He wanted to know, because somewhere deep inside him learning things and understanding how things fit together excited him, made him...happy. even the smallest things which had a purpose, had a plan, had a design or inner layer to them, a deeper meaning. All these things brought him endless joy to poke and prod and wonder over. He wasn't experimenting or trying to learn so that he could grow stronger...he was trying to grow stronger because he wanted to learn. It was perhaps, a fine line indeed... but deep down it was what made all the difference.

There was also his rather more earnest personality. He wasn't by any means a malicious person. He was much a more a detached individual. He separated himself from things around him to form a more analytical approach. As such, and perhaps for his own personal reasons that even he himself wasn't fully aware of, he kept himself more emotionally indifferent to most things, and therefore was much more a person who followed personal preference and priority over emotional ties. But then, to be fair, it wasn't as though he consciously trying to avoid them either. It wouldn't be impossible to form them with the boy...it had merely never happened before. The closest it had ever come were with his contacts, as they were really the closest things he'd had to traditional parents, even including his real parents.

They liked him well enough and, though they were of course obligated too, spent more time with him then most people, and as such had managed to get used to his little...quirks. The "wife" in particular was more then used to answering his questions. She was the default source of information when he couldn't get anyone else to answer his questions...and this was generally when they were incredibly socially awkward, or when the answer was "ask your parents". and what was more was that they never even blinked at his questions anymore, no matter HOW weird they were. True it irked him when they called him "initiate" when they lost their temper with him, but... he could get over it. It was just a reminder, he supposed. Yes...a reminder that they were still just the paid hand of the people who had cast him aside...

He supposed that was rather pathetic, wasn't it. That the only people for whom he felt anything resembling affection for were nothing more then people who had no choice but interact with him. He supposed though, that was was what a family was, wasn't it? It wasn't like most families had the option of just casting off their unwanted members on suicide missions. So then were his two contacts like family to him? That would certainly be ironic. it would sort've be like clinging to the past...trying to have a family with the closest thing to his original family that he could... but no. he didn't really think that that was quite right. It was something not so complex. He'd spent more time with them, and that was all that there was to it. His attitude tended to push people away in traditional social situations, and therefore people in abnormal situations who weren't forced away, and had to stick around, were that much more likely to become used to his oddities, and therefore tolerate them... hmm

But then, did that mean that he actually liked people who didn't find his eccentricities off putting? That was an interesting thought. He supposed that that was a very human sort of motivation, and very human habit. To merely want to be accepted. Looking at it like that, he supposed that he in particular would feel like that, having been cast aside for his rather out of the ordinary personality...even if that personality was really only truly offensive among the Otobe. Still, that was rejection at a young age. That was SURE to have left a scar or two... in fact he was certain to have great many issues on the matter. He wondered why it didn't really FEEL like it. He didn't really feel any open animosity for his clan, or indeed any great NEED to be accepted. He merely had a light preference towards people who accepted him, and a rather harsh outlook on his clan. He DID, he suppose, if he was honest, want to see his clan destroyed, but that was merely because of the very real and present danger they represented if he ever decided to cut his ties with them, not because they didn't accept him.

So then, did that mean that he was more...vaguely influenced by his past? or more as like he was merely having perfectly normal feelings given his situation and the fact that he was a human? he supposed it might have been a bit of both. That was generally the way that such situation turned out. Most answers were not merely ONE answer. They tended to be more then one answer all swirled together to create a rather complicated...yet simple, truth. a paradox, some might say, but it was merely the way that nature tended to be. Perceptions were, after all, rather ambiguous, and as such anything which they were assigned to were rather likewise as a result. It wasn't really all that odd when one thought about it. after all.. no way, was THE way, just as very answers...were THE answers. Again, it was just one of the truth =s that Byakuran had found in his rather complex parade through life...

he supposed it followed the old principal that when one had the ability and the spare time, one could achieve almost anything that on eput their mind to...and he had taken his time to figuring out life's deeper mysteries...well, technically ALL mysteries everywhere, but the deeper ones that everyone seemed to think have no answers merely because they hadn't thought about them, had caught his attention first. As a result though, it had had the odd side effect of leaving him rather clueless on the activities of day to life. Like why cabbages were called cabbages. What a positively odd name if every he'd heard one... but, eh, he supposed that, as he had earlier pointed out, humans found perfection in being imperfect, so he he shouldn't really try to be perfect, lest he be found imperfect. Baby steps at a time.
