[deleted so Stars would not maim me]

Warhammer gazed at the fire, "He probably did not know that the ship you were on had tight security practices to prevent such tracking." The minotaur reached out to pat Aella on the shoulder but his hand fell short of the mark. "Should he have come her, he would have been killed for no reason other than he found the ship. The Captain does not appriciate people finding his ship."

"Whirlwind. I gave her a feather so she coudl write to me. she burned it."

The rest of the questions got a bite of bitterness in thier answers.

"That's how it is. I'm a fighter, I always have been. and everything I do is put up agasint our father. I'm fast, but he's faster, I'm strong, he's stronger. no matter how good I do, no matter what I try, he'd done it and he's better. I'm tired of it. I won't live in my father's shadow. my fur is black enough, thank you."

Then a turn around.

"The kelves? how about thier easy use of magic, for one. they do things it takes all my concentraion to get even a fraction of, with a wave of thier hand. thier pride, thier arrognace, thier grace..thier ability to just blend in. no one stares at them. no one whispers about them. They aren't thought of as monsters or demons. and even if thier heritage is discovered, thier thought of as wonderous."

"I am sure she had a good reason for it...."

He coughed. He had alsways been honored arounf Father...he supposed the feeling wasn't mutual. "Father isn't always the best. And we are young, still growing. It is...the duty of a son to surpase his father. We have strength from both our parents, in time we'll surpass them both. You just need to be patient."

He supposed he understaond some of what he said about the elf kittens. They could appear human, walk where Moon and Onyx had been mobbed. They were not allowed to leave the manor often, because of the complications it created with the village people seeing them as monsters.

"We can't pretend to be who we are not, Onyx. father lived with, and he even fell in love. He has a mate. Is it not more grand to find somone who loves you in a world where you thought no one could?"

"If I didn't know, than he couldn't have known eithe. But if he could track it, and more than likely he has, becaue apparently he's been trying to track me this whole time, then he knows it's gone. He'll think I hate him. She took a few steps closer, his large presence comforting. "He...he did want to come here I think. He wanted to be with me...." she was still not sure how toi feel about that part.

"Send him a message. You do not have to explain anything to him, other than the disturbance caused by the feather. Think about what this person means to to you, then write him once again." Warhammer offered. "It seems to me that you are troubled by the affections of others..." The minotaur paused, "Do I cause you such confusion?"

Kieran now turned his look on Malik. What now? He would rather kill her above anything else? Who was he to say that she couldn't be okay? But even if Kieran's own mind could tell him that she wasnt't okay in her mind at all, a father's love for his only daughter overrode anything of logic. Double armed now, a scimitar in one hadn and dagger in the other, Kieran turned a slight galre on Malik and a blade rotated slightly in his hand to be more inclined to Malik's direction. "Malik...do not think I will let you take my daughter's life either..."

She looked down trodden. SHe did not like hurting people....well she took that back. Physical wounds were fleeting, they didn't hurt as bad as the things on the insides.

"Write him..." she could do that. She could at least try to do what she had failed to do in the past. Tarathiel's rookm was large, of course, and smothered in luxury. Therefore it had a desk, a desk with paper and quill pens and ink She eyed it.

"No dear Warhammer. You cause no conflict within me. Your affection for me is the same as mine for you." She offered a sad smile.

"I am glade that I offer you some solice." Warhammer said calmingly. "Do you know how to write?" He asked somewhat sheepishly, "I am not sure if you have been taught scribing, as most folk in this age do not bother to learn unless they are holy men or merchants."

She blushed. She had been learning her letters....she had been a trainee of sorts, on her wait to become a preiestess...when that was abruptly halted.

"I-I Know my name. That's about it." And it had taken her a long time to learn how to do that. For some reason her hadns didn't always liked to work well with her head.

"Oh yes. yes he did, didn't he. and was rejected by her for another human. then he found mother, only becuase she stumbled into the manor. a one in a lifetime thing. luck of the draw. once in a lifetime. We don't even have that much. the only visitors we ever get are the kelves occasional grandparent visits..thought htier grandmother is still pretty good looking. and the occasional visit from that six winged angelic, who's usually here to talk to brightsaber or nelphean."

He shook his head.

"surpass him. how the hell are we supposed to surpass our father when his abilities are derived form a gift we don't share in? his vaunted power and strength is the culmination of thousands of others."

A little bitter, are we?

"I was hoping whirlwind woudl be like that. that she might want to stay, she might see past teh flesh, the monsterous appearance. but it seems she was nice only to get away, and once gone the one thing I gave her she burned. What possible reason coudl she have? it was just a damn feather. somethign to use to write with. I mean I can kind of track it..at least get a general feel of direction..but I'm not about to go to her unless she needs me to on that ship. As much as I would love to beat the living hell out of that minotaur or the captian, I'm not about to land unannouced on a ship with both of them nad a dragon around it. I'm not that stupid."

Malik looked at Kieran a second, then back to Kaden. Kieran wasn't his focus right now. it was Piper and his present enemy, the focus of his hatred.

"then you can try and stop me Kieran. but one way or another, she is going to be freed from this Fier'Dal."

Just think hoe mother feels, she was his second choice. He even told her so. "Well, it's not like father could take us home. And Mother was home. We had Saka, and Mothe's familiar, and her spirit gaurdians. You don't have to have a love to make yourself whole."

"And you know what Onyx? As much as I love our dear Father, that power wasn't his own. He wasn't as strong us we are now when his gift was young. His power is borrowed, stolen." Whoa, he's enver say that to Pop, now would he?

"And you sure are one to judje her Onyx. Maybe she is different, but you don't know her that well yet. Do you relaly honestly think she would have agreed to ride with you if she thought you were a horrible monster? She's lived her life in a harem, for god's sake. She doesn't know what love is. She probably can't even fathom the idea."

"To her, something that is beautiful was taken and twisted until it becake rotten. How many times do you tihnk the king told her he loved her? When he did things to her that only hurt?"

Warhammer bowed, "I would be honoured to write your letter for you, if you should wish." Indicating to the desk, "I have knowledge of several scripts. You can dictate to me, I will write the words for you, and then you can sign it upon comletion. I do not suppose you have an insigna? We can use a generic dagger edge to seal the scroll if you do not." The helpful minotaur offered.

She rubbed her hands together. "Um...all right..."

She shook her head. "Ill use my staff. The bells and rings are unique enough."

She swallowed, unsure how to start this off. Warhammer pulled out the paper and the quil, and she had to admit she was a little curious aobut writing.

"I've never dictated before either. Do I just start off adressing him?

"I am not fully sure myself, as you might have guessed, there are very few people of interest to me. I know that when the captain writes to his protege, he always adresses them with a long list of flattering words. I would suggest a more neutral begining if you are unsure of your emotions towards the reciever." Warhammer suggested, "You could always begin with a blessing from the Earth Mother. All of the documents I recorded in my homeland began with one of three blessings, depending on the type of document."

Of course it was only a warning from Kieran at present time, and Malik probably knew that Kieran could and would give him a good fight. But why expend energy at the moment when first Kaden was the main objective. The enemy of his enemy was his friend, after all things concluded. Back to the logical battle; that chain. He could see the working of it in his head, a mithril spike with a hook that was often used to hook onto a hosts bone so as to be as dislodged as possible. Getting it out was painful as well...worked a but like an arrow head and either bones and flesh or both were maimed to get it out.

She wasn't there. Or at least she told herself that she wasn't. Voices around her were muddled, all her ears were hearing was the rush of blood in her body, hearing it slip out through the cute in her skin and drop to the crimson puddle under her. Her eyes saw them, but didn't at the same time, looking through all of them and viewing perhaps something grand from her own memories that was a far better sight to her, distant. Her fingers twitched, possibly out of reaction to some pain or position, but maybe out of her want to reach out to Malik who stood in front of her. And though she said nothing to him, her mind told her to. Told her to tell him that he was right, and she had done nothing but make a stupid choice. This was her fault, she had gotten into this mess, defied what she knew was better judgment, she deserved it for what she accused Malik of.

"All right." SGe beggan to pace. "Well, I suppose ultimatly I am asking for forgivness...but that's the whole point of the letter..."

She stopped, tapped a foot. "How about... 'Onyx, may winds find you fair, this day.' or...'I would this letter reach you safely....' or..no...Ugh." she put her head ijn her hands. "I'm terrable at this."
