ah^^;;;;.... One thing I don't like is when people point things out about how the proportions are wrong...
When the things not even HUMAN.
I like improvement but most people just say all the wrong things and it makes them look more like their idiots then their trying to help. I mean if its not human why the hell would it have human proportions? >.>; That wouldn't make much sence...

If it's humanoid, it generally should have human proportions. Plus, if you aren't skilled enough as an artist to be able to draw people in proper proportions, even if you do intentionally draw an inhuman character out of human proportions, it'll look skewed and awkward.
For example, mermaids and nagas aren't human, but they are humanoid. So although they're a bit taller (longer?) than a human, the humanoid part of them is expected to have human proportions nevertheless. The same goes for demons and angels that appear humanoid and fairies and such. Etc, etc.

I honestly think if its not human even if its a humanoid it shouldn't have human proportions. Really since they aren't human saying stuff about how they should have human proportions is just an opinion and not a fact. You shouldn't set rules on something just because they look similer to humans otherwise it would make things boring. Also, never said I didn't know how to do proper propotions, I just don't like drawing normal things in general.

Oh, I never meant you did or didn't know proportions. I was just saying.
I'm not here to critique you, so unless you directly ask me, I try not to pass judgement on people's art. If you do ask for an honest critique, I WILL be blunt. lol
If it's humanoid the way the things I gave as an example are, it just looks stupid without the human proportions, though. If it's something like...say the aliens that we had on Gaia, then it doesn't look stupid without the human proportions. But they were still pretty close.
Also, there are laws of gravity and nature to be considered when dealing with humanoid creatures. (and creatures in general). If there's no reason for something to be strangely long or thick or whatever, then it shouldn't be there. Of course, those rules are a bit flexible, but generally speaking.
It's hard to describe without something to point out, you know.
I'm not talking about your art in particular, though, Ty. I'm just saying art in general, especially from inexperienced, untrained artists.

Honestly if I wanted to do human proportions I would just draw a human, and if I wanted to consider the laws of gravity in my art I would do realisim. I HATE realism with a passion though, I can do it but I hate it so I try my very best to avoid it. I perfer those 'strange proportions' on non human characters and honestly think those I don't give human proportions would look silly or stupid with them anyway. I think if its not human theres no good reason to make them shaped like a human, they have the pointed ears or extra arms or extra eye or wings, ect for a reason and their body thus one should try to make suited for those things on them, rather then to suit the tastes of human proportions.
