((Haha, yeah, it's so good. The girl looks a lot like Ariel from the Little Mermaid, the NY guy looks like Eric, his girlfriend looks like Ursula's human (pretty) version.... and the prince looks like the generic Prince Charming. lol, he's so stupid. xD;;

and ftw, I keep waiting for Haar to kiss Alti or something. xD;;;;;;;;;;;

Anyway, I'm back from dinner now.... ninja ))

Alti had finally risen and, though he was feeling a bit... embarrassed, he slowly slid off his shirt before quickly exchanging it for something more suitable for sleeping. He followed the same procedure for his pants (though he left his boxers on) before he slipped back onto his bed, feeling his cheeks burning quite brightly. Why did he have to be so overly self-conscious now?! He had never -- or, at least, almost never -- had to think about himself in such a way before. It was... well, to tell the truth, he found it all quite unsettling. It just... it just felt weird. But he did want to still be with Haar... he just... he would just have to get used to some things..... Some really weird, akward things.....

Alti had slipped his legs under the covers and finally laid down, his back to the other, when he quite suddenly heard the other's voice from a surprisingly close distance. Had he been standing, he might have jumped. He hadn't heard Haar... at all, in fact. Alti nodded slowly and mumbled, "Alright...." his voice slightly muffled by his pillow.

The sun rose early -- well, of course it did; this was the Kingdom of Light, after all, where day was eternally longer than night, even during winter. Some small bit of light had filtered through thw window, though the shutters had been shut against the cold. A small beam of that brightest liquid gold fell upon the pale sleeping teen's eyes and golden light was soon met with the opening of golden eyes. Alti's eyes fluttered open slowly and then hastilly shut against the sun's brilliance. Alti sat up slowly and rubbed at his eyes, a small frown forming on his lips. He had slept... well. The sun had hurt, though, and it took several moments for that small pain to be replaced by festival- and Haar-induced cheer.

Golden eyes strayed slowly over to the man's sleeping form and a small, hesitant smile tugged at the corners of his lips, a light flush seeping onto his cheeks. The man looked surprisingly... peaceful like that. It was odd, but rather... nice. Alti finally slipped out of bed, pale feet steeping onto the frigid floor. He winced slightly and stepped quickly across the room, gathered some clean clothing from his wardrobe, and sped into the bathroom where it was slightly warmer.

Several minutes later the teen exited, his hair still slightly damp (but mostly dry), his skin clean, a new set of clothes on his lean frame. He paused a moment to put on a pair of socks before he stepped carefully across the room. He needed to wake Haar up. He had to be careful, though -- Haar was a military man and if the teen woke him too suddenly then something bad just might possibly happen. And so he eased his small frame onto the other's bed, sitting close the where the other was, and laid a hand on the other's shoulder.

"Haar," he said, his voice slightly rhaspy from sleep. "Wake up, Haar...."

[[onfoh59tn. -foams at the mouth- I love Alti. @w@]]

"Wake up. Wake up, you."

Fading in and out of the tight grasp of dream-like memories and reality, Haar held onto the past for just a moment or so more.

"You know, you'll never be able to lift that sword of your's if you spend all day in bed." Bright, crystal eyes stared down at him in a lightly maternal way.

The soldier winced as he shifted onto his side, "This is coming from the same person who had to tie me down?" His eyes were still closed, wishing he could just go back to sleep but once he had been waken up it was no use.

"Hey, I'm just looking out for your rather handsome physique," Kaelin murmured with a laugh, running a finger down one lightly rippled arm. Haar was definitely more muscular than the average person, but not so much that it was overpowering, he still had a somewhat lean look to him... "Wouldn't want it to all fade away from sleeping too much."

One red eye cracked open, a hand instantly shielding his face from the bright sun. "Thank you for your concern but I thought you'd be thrilled I was actually staying in bed for once."

"At this point, you're just being lazy," Kae retorted, pulling back the covers of Haar's bed with a full-fledged smirk. "Now, wake up!"

Wake up.
Wake up.
Wake up, Haar.

Sucking in a quick breath, the soldier tensed, blindly reaching out for the source of the noise. Catching the teen by the arm, Haar sat up, sheets spilling over as he stared frantically at the boy who was halfway on his bed. "Is something wrong?" He asked in a breathy tone, blinking several times before his eyes focused.

((Ehh? What prompted that reaction? O: ))

Haar didn't seem to be waking and Alti had just decided that he was going to shake the other lightly when, quite suddenly, the other sat up looking rather... frantic. Golden eyes widened slightly and a rather non-plused expression formed on the teen's lips. He had been about to retract his arm from the other, but then Haar had grabbed it, making that movement a bit impossible. His other hand raised to slowly push back dark indigo locks from his eyes, slender pale fingers sliding slowly through extremely dark, damp, tousled hair. He really did have quite exceptionally pale skin and with his hair wet like that, making it almost black, he looked even paler than usual.

"Ehh? No, Haar. You told me to wake you up, remember?" That night's sleep seemed to have reawakened more of the real Alti for his voice had lost at least most of its unsure, hesitant quality. It was still there, though -- just... less of it. He was feeling more himself and though he still wasn't really sure of himself he had decided to do his best to be his normal self. After all, that was what Haar liked about him, right? Then the man might stop liking him if he became all... all unsure and... everything. So he would just have to be strong until he got used to things.

[[Haar's crazy? I really don't know. XD]]

"Oh... right."

Whatever he had been dreaming about left his conscious thought as Haar let his grip loosen and slide. Red eyes flickered up against the teen's face, studying it, for a moment as the soldier continued, "I just wanted to--" he stopped, scratching a hand through dark brown hair, ruffling it into a more acceptable style. Letting go of the boy with a quick breath in, Haar mumbled, "Just wait there."

It was a few minutes before Haar returned from the bathroom, but he looked at least slightly more presentable, his already shaggy hair damp and sticking to his face in certain areas, when he returned, sitting at his bed folding his hands in his lap. He was staring at the floor, following the wood grains until he reached a split or knot in the wood. Looking up, the young commander smiled a bit before continuing, "I wanted to talk to you before you left for any of your performances. I don't really know what the generals will want from me over the past few days... I just want you to be careful," he murmured, red eyes sweeping the floor. "And, I wanted to know if you're really sure," he added, looking up with a hesitant expression. He did want to make sure he mentioned for Alti to be on his guard, but that hadn't been the main reason he wished to speak with him.

"Or...if you have any questions about me, I don't know, I can answer them if you like. I just feel that you should know who exactly you're dealing with."

((Nono. Not Haar's reaction, yours. The way you mouthfoamed at Alti. 8D;; ))

Alti waited, pale fingers raising again to push back his dark, tousled hair. It was really getting... long. His bangs were already reaching his lips and the rest of his hair was longer.... He did usually like it a bit long-ish, but he hadn't gotten it trimmed in quite a while so it had grown even longer than usual....

By the time Haar returned, Alti's hair had dried for the most part, though the locks were still quite mussy and tousled. He had remained on the other's bed and he glanced up at the other as the older male began to talk. He nodded slowly, dark hair falling into his golden eyes. He didn't want to... think about that sort of things yet. He really didn't. Golden eyes raised and then, finally, fixed upon the other's dark ruby hues.

"I... I am sure...." he replied slowly, his tone rather... subdued by the solemnity of the situation. He tried to straighten up, to make himself feel brighter -- he had been doing a pretty good job of it thusfar through the morning but it was difficult to maintain a positive mindset when Haar kept on bringing up such a depressing things....

Golden eyes widened at the last part of the other's words. "Eeeh... r-really?" he asked, cheeks slightly flushed. He... he didn't really know where to... begin -- what sort of thing to ask. He... well, there were things he wanted to know, but... but he hated to feel like he was prying or -- or.... But then he realised that he wasn't acting himself. Why was he being so nervous? He shouldn't be. Haar had already said... already said that he... liked him so he should be more... more sure of himself. More resolute.

Finally, his voice sounding slightly more steady, he asked, "Why does... Julian hate you?" He'd been wondering for a while what anyone could do to provoke such a reaction. Or maybe Julian was just a random b*****d, but Alti didn't think that entirely true (though the b*****d part was quite right). It wasn't the best question, he knew, but it was all he could think at such a sudden instant.

((Gettin' off now, bye. Mom's making me. emo ))

[[I don't know, he's just so cute. >w<;; <3 Hokay. X3 Oh man, what a question to ask. XD]]

Haar's jaw dropped just a bit at the question, lips parted for a few moments before he regained a sense of composure. "I suppose you'll want the long version of this story, right? This might take a while," the soldier confessed, running a hand through damp hair as he settled himself against the headboard. "A few years ago Xel... attacked me, to save his own skin as well as anyone truly important to him, but nonetheless, at the time I was sure he had simply betrayed me. He gave me this," he started, pointing to the scar running from the edge of his cheek up under his right eye. "I thought he was a spy for the ice kingdom since his father lives there, so I was sent to find him. A few things happened while I, and several others, were trying to locate Xel and I ended up pretty much confined to a bed for a few months. That ambush left me with this," he said, running a finger down his bare, left side, a thick, jagged scar starting from under his rib cage ending several inches above his hip.

"That's how I met Kae--Kaelin--he's...Julian's fiance," Haar said with a bit of a sad smile. "I don't think Julian really likes people outside of his own race to begin with, especially when foreigners intrude on what's supposedly his. I didn't know Kae was engaged or anything, he didn't tell me until...later." Haar didn't like thinking about that time. Closing his eyes, the young man pressed a hand over his eyes as he tried to block out the last time he'd seen Kaelin for several years. He shouldn't have been even walking at that point, but Haar didn't think Julian cared really if Haar made it out of the ice kingdom alive or not. No amount of training could've prepared him for being bound and gagged and led out into the frigid forests of the ice nation only to be beat up and left for only god know's what.

For a moment the pure terror he had felt that night washed over him. Had Alti been just as scared when Julian had tied him up? When he had threatened him? Alti had said he was okay, that the marks were not a big deal but...would the ordeal leave scars that couldn't been seen by the human eye but the heart?

The snow had stopped being cold several minutes beforehand, once the kicking started. His body had recoiled into a pure survival mode and didn't think it was really important to relay temperature differences to his brain anymore but worked hard to keep the soldier alive. Haar choked on something, his vision blurred as the strip of cloth was knocked down against his neck. Coughing up red into the snow, the teen frantically searched for something to defend himself with: a branch, a stone, anything he could get his hands on. It lasted forever it seemed, but Julian and his friends finally walked away, their boots smearing blood into the otherwise pristine, white snow. Curling inward, Haar stared at the faint outline of trees, blinking back tears as he resolved that this was indeed the end. If he didn't die from blood loss, the cold would soon do him in.

Or so it had seemed, had not someone come back to make sure he didn't do just that. Kaelin had knelt down in the snow, sobbing against him, fingers slipping as slick blood continued to pour. "I'm sorry. I didn't... Oh g-god, what did they do?" He had brought a friend along with him. Haar had never seen Ceris look so very panicked, nor had he ever seen him pass out after healing someone before.

"He tried to kill me and I think he hates the fact that he didn't succeed," Haar said in a calm voice, the memory almost surreal. "It's sort of a miracle he didn't, but that's neither here nor there," he said with a shrug, looking up. "Anything else?"

((Haha, yeah. I've been thinking a lot on how he... used to be and... it's such a huge change. xD;;; I don't think Haar appriciates enough just how much Alti has changed.... ninja ButIloveHaar so he can be forgiven even though he should be smothering Alti with smoochies.... ninja ninja ))

Despite the warmth and comfort of the room, Alti felt cold. Very cold. It wasn't the sort of cold that was inflicted by the outside world and then sunk inwards to chill and numb bones -- it was the other way around. It was as if it was hailing inside, each tiny icicle bringing a wincing cold that gradually spred from inside out. He was stupid. Alti was so... so completely stupid and... and he was just stupid. Why did he have to ask that question? Haar was obviously... well those obviously couldn't be good memories to relive or... or even think about. And Alti had brought them up and the teen knew that Haar was feeling... bad -- though, truly, that word was not enough to describe the expression on the other's face.

Golden eyes sunk like the setting sun to examine his own overly pale fingers. He was stupid -- so completely and utterly stupid and now he felt... he just felt bad and... and guilty. He shouldn't have asked that -- he should have known that it would be... painful.

"S-sorry...." he mumbled slowly, eyes down cast, his dark brow furrowed. It was quite obvious that the teen felt rather... horrible. "Sorry, Haar, I shouldn't have... asked that....."

Kaelin -- the boy -- was Julian's (the evil man, as far as Alti was concerned) fiance. And Haar hadn't know. And Julian didn't like... his... things being... taken? So then Kaelin and Haar..... The realisation hit him quite suddenly and he felt... he felt odd. He hated that Haar had... had had to go through... that. That he had almost died. But then, if Kaelin hadn't been Julian's, then.... Then Haar and Kae would be together and Alti would probably never have met him and... And he was being so completely selfish and he hated it but he couldn't help it.

"S-sorry...." he repeated, though this time for an entirely different reason. Sorry for being selfish? Sorry for being a little bit glad that Julian was so possessive that you couldn't be with Kaelin? -- which basically translated into him being glad that Haar had almost died. And Alti couldn't stand that. He just couldn't. He... he really was terrible, wasn't he?
PostPosted: Fri Nov 23, 2007 7:16 pm

[[ rofl If Haar was more assertive I think he would smooch attack Alti, but...alas as of right he's still rather skittish about the whole issue. He just doesn't want to mess up. :<]]

"It's fine, I would have told you soon anyway," Haar murmured before adding, "I mean, it's a legitimate question to ask after some guy ties you up and threatens you on my account." Upon noting Alti's reluctance to acknowledge his acceptance of the question, the soldier ran a bare hand through lightly damp, indigo locks. Holding his hand against the nape of Alti's neck for several minutes, the older male hesitantly inched forward, "Can I kiss you?" He breathed, red eyes trailing down the other's features before snapping up to meet Alti's eyes.

[[Damn it, this was going to be long but then I just HAD to have Haar kiss him, or at least ask to because Alti's too damn cute. :<]]

((Yess. For now. ninja ))

Haar was... well, he was trying to make Alti feel better, less guilty, but... while the teen was willing to be consoled for having asked the question, his main reason for guilt could not just lie still. As Haar spoke again, however, his words hesitant and... and full of a warm, live breath, Alti's gaze snapped upwards, his eyes bright, a crimson blush flooding his pale cheeks. He was... well... he... it... Haar had... surprised him -- surprised him so much that he had quite abruptly been taken from his guilt, the sinking feeling in his gut.

"A-alright...."

[edit] I have to get off soon but if you reply superfast then I can do the same. 8D;;;

[[What is his main reason for feeling guilty? owo Did I miss something? -slow?- XD]]

And so Haar kissed him, bringing up his other hand to cradle the opposite side of the Alti's head. The soldier wasn't sure if the teen was okay with these sort of things, somewhere inside Haar was convinced he liked being shown affection but another part was terrified that Alti was just going along with this because he didn't want to lose Haar as a friend. Running his hands down to the other's shoulders, careful around his neck, the soldier pulled back with a gentleness not commonly seen. "Can I ask you a question?" He asked, holding the teen's arm up, running a few fingers against pale, white lines stretched along them. "What are these from?"

((Because he was happy that Haar didn't end up with Kae? 8D;; ))

He still wasn't used to... to... that sort of... thing. He could feel his heart pounding, the sound of it resounding heavily in his chest. Was it normal for such a supposedly small thing to make him feel so completely... completely... something. He didn't even know what it was that he was feeling yet. He... he liked Haar. He knew he did. And... and kisses... they were... they were... he didn't know yet, but he kind of... liked it, though he was a bit embarrassed to admit that to himself.

Golden eyes opened slowly as the other slowly pulled away, dark lashes raising like an indigo curtain. But his expression, which had turned into something quite pleasant, fell at the other's next words. Haar had just told Alti something so deeply and immensly... personal and... and painful. It would be... bad, selfish to... to deny Haar what he wanted to know after the man had just... told Alti something so painful. But Haar would hate him, wouldn't he? He'd hate Alti if he told the other.....

Or he would pity him. Alti wasn't sure what was worse -- hate or pity. Either way, it would put a terrible distance between them which was most deffiantely something that Alti did not want....

He bit his lip softly, his expression becoming suddenly nervous and slightly... pained. He took in a deep, slow breath and then finally raised his eyes to meet the other's. "H-Haar... do you... promise you won't hate me....?"

It was now or never, though. He couldn't even wait for an answer -- if he was ever going to say it then it would have to be before he lost his small bit of courage and... and melted back into unsurity.

"I.... I... I mean... I used to... I did it to... myself...." he said finally, his voice hesitant and more than a little afraid. He couldn't meet the other's eyes any more. "Mother -- I mean, Allora... just... she... I was always by her side -- she made sure of it, ever since I was little. If she travelled, I went with her, but I never actually... went anywhere. I was always inside, I mean I... just... I don't really know when it started, but I... I couldn't stand it -- the few friends I had had by then... left. Their parents didn't... like... me because of... of the rumors and things, so I was........" His speech was so fragmented and disoriented that he was hardly making any sense. But he was saying it, at least -- he'd never done that before. Then again, he'd never had anyone to say it too before. Though it was true that Allora had often asked, it wasn't as if Alti would ever tell her. "I... I stopped though, Haar -- I haven't... done any of th-that in... in several months, so.... so don't hate me, please?"

((So pitiful. 8D;;;

And by the way, the main reason Alti stopped was Haar, though he had been trying to stop before that.... ninja ))
PostPosted: Fri Nov 23, 2007 8:18 pm

[[Oh okay. duh. -smacks head- x__x; ]]

Haar turned over the teen's arm several times, examining both sides with a frown as Alti explained that he had made the scars himself. The very thought didn't seem to penetrate until the soldier looked up to see how very miserably scared the teen looked. Alti had really done this to himself? He had been so lonely that he had ...cut himself? Had he wanted to...die? Or was it something different? Haar wasn't versed in the reasons people inflicted physical pain on themselves, he had never thought of that as an option most likely for several reasons. One, he didn't he had even been so lonely to want to hurt himself, and second, although he did still indeed bleed when cut and it did hurt he was much more used to getting beat up than the average person.

"I don't hate you," he said, running his thumb across a particularly fresh-looking scar. "Just don't do it again, okay?"

He looked up as he said it, red eyes examining the other's face.

((Tato, your sigs always leave me bewildered. 8D;;; ))

A small sigh of relief escaped the teen's lips. Haar... didn't hate him... he... he... didn't hate Alti. He couldn't help the sigh -- just as he couldn't help the small lift in his expression. Haar didn't... hate him..... Orange eyes finally looked back fully into the other's darker gaze, a small, relieved, but still weak, smile forming on the teen's lips as he nodded. Haar wasn't sure whether or not what Alti felt towards him was really something more than just friendship -- well, Alti himself wasn't quite sure, either. But even that small change in the dark-haired teen's appearance should have been enough to show just how deeply he cared for the other -- how much Haar meant to him, how it pained the teen so terribly to think that Haar might hate him....

((Oh what sap. Wellz, I'm going to go jeans shopping now but I'll be back later. :3 ))

[[Haha. X3 They are random sometimes.]]

Haar shifted a bit, moving his eyes from the much too enticing teen in front of him to the window which was shuttered-close in order to keep out the hazy, morning light. Looking back at Alti for a moment, the older male slid off the bed in search of a fresh outfit. Fiddling with the buckle on his pants, the red-eyed fire native glanced up, "What d'you have planned for today, anything special?" He asked while dropping his pants as he fished around for a similar, black pair.

[[Fuwahaha, Haar has no concept of decency.]]

Bright golden-orange eyes hastilly averted themselves as the other decided to change his pants, a bright flush spreading across the teen's face. How could Haar do such things so openly and without embarrassment?! Then again, he supposed the man had been raised quite differently from himself... he was a military man and had probably had to be... inspected or whatever. Still, though, Alti couldn't hide his own embarrassment.

"What? Oh... well, I'll start performing around.... mmm, I think my first performance is at noon. I have several to do, but I get breaks between each one..... So... yeah, I don't know... you saw me last night so you probably don't want to see it again -- though we do play different music each day -- but, uhmm... if you want, we could... meet during my breaks? Dad taught me how to send one of those messages the day before yesterday...."
