OOC:Sorry I haven posted in forever but I got caught up and tryin' to play catch up, firguing out where in the world I left John, (I left him in the beach house by himself redface sweatdrop ) and how the hell I was gonna get back into the game.

IC: John started at Pietro for a good five minutes. What the hell is this boy talkin' about? And why the hell did he bring me here? Cann't the boy tell that I'm in the middle of a hangover!!! John thought to himself. But as he listened he remembered the note he'd found earlier, laying on the kitchen table. Oh yeah that volly ball game. John looked at Pietro for a second. And looked around at the others. "Alright if you want me too. But I'm not focused right now so If I miss don't be mad at me." He said. John took his place at the far left corner of their side. Hopefully Pietro will cover for me, cause I can't be doing two things at once in my condition. John thought. Helpin Courtney was alot harder for John considering that he wasn't in his right state of mind and he'd some how miss placed his lighter. Part of him just wanted to set the ball on fire, and he'd come close to it on several occasions. He had to be alittle creative about helping Courtney. It took him a while to get started, but when he finally did, he was able to relax and let Courtney do most of the work.

"Oh stop whining and start playing!" yelled Wanda to Jacen. She was getting of tired them playing the military school on a volleyball game. But she couldn't blame them since Freya put a slave matter on the loser team.

On her side, Freya hide a grin. You are taking this too seriously. That will be your only mistake. Not bad considering your skills. she thought as she watched her spirits catching up the gap that was previously formed by the X-2 team. They were now equal on the score: 6-6

The spirits didn't seem to use special abilities but their natural talents. Efreet, the fire spirit, was a strong one by nature. Windy had the speed while Sylph was perfectly balanced in strenght and agility. Levia's agility was the best considering water could easily go anywhere and as for Shiva (named by Freya), she had constitution and could, at the most, froze the ball during a smash. Aura, on the other hand, stayed on the bench for now because Freya didn't allow her to go on the court yet.

When Teagan went back on the field and tried her poison breath again, she hit a wall. Windy was playing and made the wind blow in the direction of X-2 team. They were the one who ended up a bit confused by the poison and Freya used this opportunity to smash a point. The score was now 7-6 for the magicians.

The blond looked at the team who was quickly recovering from the poison of their comrade. "I don't want cheap tricks. I want a good game and fun," she told them gently. "You have nothing to lose really. So don't stress over this alright?"

OOC: Sorry if you think I'm moving fast but if we want to reach 30 points, things have to move. smile If you have a problem with that, pm me.

OOC - Okay, I'm gonna go ahead and reply to that post, I wasn't sure if I could before or not. Didn't want to overlap anyone.

IC - Honestly, Kim was a little taken aback when Regina asked who she was. It was an informed question, naturally, but she'd have thought that, being both inhabitants of the Xavier Institute, she'd have at least been mentioned. She, of course, tried her best to remember the names and faces of all the students who passed her in the halls, and there were few people she didn't know, considering how long she'd stays at the Mansion. No matter, an introduction was required, so she'd give a brief one.

"I'm Kim Raines, the Psych teacher at the Institute... didn't you know, Miss Colt?"

Apparently, whether by memory loss, or sheer ignorance, the girl didn't know her. It didn't appear like she had much time to absorb the situation either, as the ball came hurtling through the net, sending tiny icy fragments flying, and then the ball thudded off the sand behind a small host of interested eyes. Perhaps Kim's presence here had been a little more initially distracting than she'd predetermined. She casually grinned and waved the incident off.

"As I said, don't mind me. Just remember where you are, and that you're not alone on this beach."

Jamie sighed, and stood up. His team wasn't doing very well at all, so he decided to go check on the other team. When he showed up, he saw Miss Raines standing near Regina and Jacen. "Hey Miss Raines. Can't say I was expecting you here." He said, but didn't show any of his surprise.

"So Jacen, how're you guys doing?" He asked, looking towards the game.

"We're tied. As I thought as I should be at this time....," Jacen said to Jamie as he stood up. It seemed that things were going a little worse for wear for at least a few of the team.

"Time!," Jacen yelled right before the serve was about to be set off. "Porter....I think I'm gonna pull you out for now, and jump in, cool?"

"Be my guest," he said, looking rather tired.

"Tag in, then," Jacen said as he slapped Porter's back and walked onto the court. "How's everyone holding up?"

"Good. Fine. Hanging in there," he heard everyone say at once.

Jacen nodded to everyone as he stood at the net waiting for them. He did notice the fact that there was a rather tall blonde that walked up behind him, but he did well enough to ignore her. That, and he didn't really care for people sneaking up behind him. She's lucky I didn't cripple her on sheer principle, he thought as he started to stretch out a bit. As he did, he could feel a bit of pulling on the stitched wounds in his arms and side. Then, he felt a sharp pain.

"OUCH!, What the!?!?," Jacen said as he saw a small trickle of blood form down his upper arm region. Of course, he knew what it was. Just a bit of torn flesh due to sutures. "Just what I needed," he said to himself as he grew increasingly annoyed at the situation. And that annoyance would definitely aid him during his time in the game.

ooc: tomorrow is another double, then getting HP 6 after work. so i won't be posting again till Satruday.. when i wake up from my comatose state XD

ic:

Regina raised a brow. "I remember you mentioned.... But I'm not one for psych classes. That's more penny's speed."

She flinched and looked back to the game as it began to heat up, though ice flecks were what rained down on her and Porter who sat down beside her. "Good game... I think."

"We're working on it. I wonder who they would choose for their 'slave', should they win..." he muttered, resting casually by her.

Regina handed him a water bottle. "I've got more for teh rest of the team. I went back to the house and grabbed some for the dehydration factor I know will catch up. And does it matter? It's nothing sexual. Heck, I'd volunteer if need be." She shrugged. "All for one and one for all, we're a team."

"True... But I'd rather win. Personally." Porter replied with a grin.

"Yeah. Me too. And Jacen and Penny too I bet." Regina said with a laugh.

OOC: Actually they are alone on their area of the beach. They are on an isolated portion by design. There really isn't a lot of people at least for a mile. Here, I'm inching up the score just because I don't want the game to last another five days.

IC:

This was getting rough. Penny never realized how brutal Freya's spirit buddies could be... she wasn't one to call unfair advantage so it made her work all the harder. The score inched up towards 30. Mostly they stayed even. 10-11, 13-11, 15-15, and so on. They neared 20 and man did they have their bumps. Nobody wanted to sit. And Penny wanted to end this game badly. The spirits could out last them all in endurance.

The fire spirit was the roughest. The ball always seemed hot to the touch after she had it and the sheet strength of it. This was her match. And she wasn't letting the fire spirit get another one past her. Sweat poured down her forehead, but she was going to get another point in. Efrete spiked the ball over the net. Penny should see the fire on it.

"Gen, cool it down, and give me the shot" Penny said dropped to the sand and popped it up with her knuckles. The heat scorched her skin but ignored it. Gen cooled it down as it came towards her and she hit the ball again. The ball was extremly cold now and Penny let Gen set her up. With the rest of he rstrength, she brought the ball down on the other side of the net.

"That our point and I'm done," She looked at her hands. They needed to heal. They were ahead by a point. It was worth it. She sat down and let Regina take her place. Only then did she notice Kim Raines standing around.

"What the hell are you doing here?" She said as a matter of fact. Kim wasn't her favorite teacher at the Institute. But that wasn't a secret.

"Watch it guys, they're not afraid to play dirty," Morgan said, taking charge. "We're just going to have to find ways around that. Kurt, use your 'porting to get into whatever position you need. It goes high, you go high, got it?. Blair, do whatever you can. Give 'em a nervous breakdown if you have to. Rogue, you can leech off me if you need to," Morgan said, rattling off the gameplan.

"No problemo," Kurt said, getting into position.

"Thanks for the offer, sugah," Rogue replied. She help onto Morgan's hand for a few seconds, long enough for her to absorb his powers.

"Time to get creative," Morgan murmured. When the ball was volleyed their way, Morgan leapt for the ball, but extended his reach with a flat forcefield, which knocked the ball back towards the Brotherhood side.

Pietro laughed and SLAMMED the ball down with the added force of moving at near-mach speeds. It bounced off Morgan's head and landed out of bounds, leaving the score at 8-6 in the Brotherhood's favor. Kurt made an attempt to hit it, but was distraced by yet another of Victoria's pocket screams.

"You gotta be kidding me, you can't get anything past me you fools!" Pietro taunted. He laughed as Sonic's screams continued to bounce all around the other side of the court to distract the other side. He also smiled as Pyro and Corky were slowly getting their end of the plan together. Soon the X-Men would have one hell of a hot foot as well...

"Ow! Son-of-a-b***h. Two can play at that game," Morgan said. He served the ball, but gave it a little added effect by nailing it with a forcefield. Come on, Pietro, I know you want to show off, Morgan thought. But he was ready. And he also had an eye on Pyro. They were standing on sand, which was a rather good conducter of heat.

{And I think I see where the Pyro-Corky plan is going. But I won't ruin it. Until it actually goes into motion... twisted }

"Oh no it's gonna touch the ground oh golly guys its gonna touch the--"

Pietro snuck under the ball with less than half an inch clearance and knocked it back up in the air, allowing Victoria to spike it. She screamed as she did so, and Pietro was getting under the implication that she seemed to really enjoy an opportunity not to be quiet for a change.

"Just what I was waiting for! Kurt, go for it!" Morgan exclaimed, eveloping Pietro in a forcefield bubble and lifting him a few feet off the ground. At that same time, Kurt teleported into the path of the ball, knocking it back into the air with a swat of his tail, and spiking it back down towards the B-Hood side of the net.

{I told you I had ways of dealing with Pietro, didn't I? twisted (Evil laugh)}

Jacen was having a helluva time just keeping up with these spirits of Freya's. The fire Efreet was just, for all intents and purposes, burning him up.

"I can't believe this," Jacen said as he noticed his team was down by three points now. The momentum had shifted against them almost as soon as Penance left the court and the other members of the team were looking rather beatdown at this point, but they all held on. "Damn, damn, damn...." He was still feeling the effects of the sutures in his shoulder ripping. They needed to be done up again, but unfortunately, there were no doctors around to his knowledge. Luckily for him, the pain he felt triggered some rather serious endorphines in his veins.

It helped him a bit when the serve again went up in the air. Jacen, from his position in the back saw it soar over the net and seemed to hunt him out exclusively. Out of a natural reaction, he popped the ball up into the air, only to have it set by Teagan, though something seemed to be making the ball waver in the air.

"Got it!!," Jacen said as he noticed Regina jumping up before he did and swatting the ball down hard over the net. Unfortunately, the ball was still in play, and the Efreet had hit it, almost instantly heating the ball to scorching.

"Hey Gen!!," Jacen shouted to his teammate, "Get that b*****d to cool down a couple of notches!!!" With a seemingly effortless effort, she had frosted the ball over, and seemed to freeze up Efreet for a second.

I've got this guy now, he thought as he went in for a killshot. Using his own negative feelings and emotions to strengthen and propel himself, he leapt high into the air. With two swift motions, he fired off a blast of black energy at Efreet, shattering him down a few pegs, and also hit the ball as hard as he could at the as of now empty spot on the court.

Jacen smiled for a split second when he noticed something odd. He felt the wind move, slowly at first, before become gale force and sending Jacen crashing hard into the beach.

".........................." Jacen lay motionless on the sand for about half a second, before pushing himself up on his hands. The stitches on his left arm now completely ripped apart due to the impact. And as he stood up, he mistakenly put all of his weight on his left leg, which sent him falling back to the sand. "I....knew.....this was a bad idea...," he said faintly as he crawled over to the sidelines. He had a feeling he wasn't going to be particularly effective, but damn if he wasn't going to try.
PostPosted: Fri Jul 15, 2005 6:45 pm

"s**t," Penny said seeing the damage Jacen just took, "This is fricking rediculous. I thought we were playing against Freya and Wanda... not the land of the dead."

Porter was already up on his feet at that moment. He gave Jacen a hand to help him over to their spectator area, "Wait here. Your wounds need fixed or they're not going to heal."

"Since when are you a doctor?" Penny asked looking at her raw knuckles. Porter didn't say anything and went up into the beach house for a first aid kit, "Can you work your voodoo from the sidelines? Even if it effects our team, I can crash a few over myself... and maybe it will even help X1 with the Brotherhood."

Holding his shoulder together with one hand and took her hand with his other and looked at her skin. She pulled her hand back and to quote the Black Knight from Monty Pyrhon sorta she answered, "A mere flesh wound. Get your arm fixed and I'll try to fix these guys."

"Remember, this is a game." He said looking concerned she was going to do something stupid.

"I know, otherwise I wouldn't have left my weaponry inside," She joked with him and stepped back onto the court with Regina, Tegan, and Gen. They were down by 3 and 30 was approaching fast. Regina let the ball fly across the net and Penny waited to see what was going to happen first. The wind started to pick up but she pushed through it as the ball came down between her and Regina.

"Regina, go shadow," She said and dove to the ground to knock the ball in the air before it could touch the ground. The sand burned across her stomach and Regina popped out of the shadows beside Penny for the spike.

Freya timed out the game and went on the other side to check on Jacen. "Is he okay?" She received a small positive answer. "I'm sorry about that gust of wind. I guess Windy didn't like much what happened to Efreet. But you did what you had to do, don't worry."

She smiled at them and went back to her side of the game. Wanda joined her after drinking a sip of water. "I don't like how things are turning," she told Freya.

"Me neither. They're all tired and I'm starting to feel dizzy myself. Summoning so much spirits is exhausting."

"Why did you call the calm one on the bench? You're not making her play!"

"She's our wild card if we go up againts your brother. She couldn't have played if she wasn't in the team in this game. Now, let's finish this quick so we can rest a bit."

Wanda nodded but was still concerned about Freya. The blond kept telling her it was game and even though she shown every sign of having fun, Wanda noticed Freya exhausted herself to summon help. We might be able to defeat them but I have my doubts for the next match.

The ball was on the court again and a hard battle started for the final score. X-2 was putting all their efforts to stop Efreet from smashing or touching the ball that they forgot about the others. They feared her heat and strenght. Using that to her advantage, Wanda started to use her hex powers to get the ball and send it on the other side of the net. Now the team didn't know what to look for since Wanda didn't use her hex powers since the spirits got into the game.

Match point. Efreet was ready to serve. Sylph, Wanda and Shiva were on the court. The tension could be easily cut in two. If the magicians got that point, they would be the winners. If not, X-2 had another chance to get back in the game.

The ball was sent on the other side. As X-2 sent it back, Efreet rushed to the net to smash it back but Gen, who was on the court as well, used all her powers to froze Efreet's legs to stop her dead on the tracks. However, she forgot Shiva. Freya put her on the court, just in case something like that would happen. Wanda blasted Shiva with a hex bolt to send her quickly up the front. The ice spirit jumped and got ready to smash but that was only a lure because she just gently pushed it on the side. The ball landed in front just of the line.

"Alright! We won!!" said Freya as she jumped into the air.
