{James : Caribbean Sea : The Black Pearl}
James stood on the deck, not exactly at the bow, but not too far from it. His back leaning against the rail of the ship as he looked out at the sea. His hearing allowed him to hear most of what everyone around him was saying. In particular though Kyle and Joe's conversation regarding Tia Dalma caught his interest. Kyle raised a good point, they never saw Calypso again after they released her from her human form... It got the corsair thinking about what could potentially happen if anything went awry with the wise beings and much like Kyle's mind, his went off on many other tangents including the replicas, and everything else that was going on.
A distant flash of lightning and roar of thunder brought the corsair out of his reverie, his eyes lighting up with the strike. Thunderstorms had always gotten James charged, as if he could sense the energy that was crackling in the air. This was no exception. However, he had been out at sea once during a storm, it definitely felt a lot worse than a storm on land. He had been a little boy when his family had gone to Maine to go on a whale watch. A storm hit the ship and had scared him pretty badly. His attention turned to Dawn as she spoke to Sora.
"It would probably be better to stay up here. You don't want to get pitched and rolled below deck... especially heading into a storm like this." He said, making his way over towards her.
Of course he knew how much Dawn hated thunderstorms, she and Michelle were both the same way. He turned his attention back to the storm, a shiver running down his spine, and he willed himself not to call forth his hexagun once again. It would be pretty obvious that he was back on edge.

[Jenny :: Caribbean Sea :: The Black Pearl]
The mage leaned against the railing and stared out to sea, watching the angry waves roll through the water. Jenny usually didn't have a problem with thunder unless she was alone but it was different this time around. She could hear everyone's troubled song and it in turn made her a little more weary. Jenny slumped forward so that her chin rested on her forearms as she tried to shake depressing thoughts. There seemed to be bad foreshadowing all around that made the musician's neck hairs stand on end.
Of course, it doesn't help that we're on the sea, a very very angry looking sea.

Jacob ll Black Pearl
Jacob had been rather cool for the past. Quistis kept blowing him off like a itch, and nobody else seemed all that interested in his 'antics'. He shrugged as he dangled his legs over the edge of the boat, back flat on the deck; the cool sea spray was splashing up to his feet. "Onwards, to victory." He said half-heartedly, not caring if anyone heard him. He had hoped that someone here was like him. Sure, they were nerdy enough, but they were way too serious. The shaggy haired teen sat up to face the majestic seas with a smile. He'd NEVER been on a boat back on Earth. He'd never felt this wonderful.
He slipped down from the boat and clung tightly to the wooden railing. All he needed was to let go. He could get washed away in the tide and end up in another land. A stranger place. He stared into the abyss. He looked back up to his hands and kicked his feet gently against the hull of the ship. The ship started to sail into a storm and Jacob thought it best to climb back aboard. He wasn't ready for it yet. The sounds of soft rains comforted him. He felt fuzzy inside now, looking back down at the waters far below.
Jacob inched closer to Sayrike and whistled a bass-line beside her. If she wanted to take the lead, that was fine. He smiled and stared at her, his head cocked slightly.

[Carribean Sea ~ The Black Pearl]
'Human . . . Human? . . . Great.'
Noelle had fallen alseep within minutes of finding one of the crew's hammocks to rest in. She and Titan had been going at it in her head as she climbed into one of the lower hammocks, talking about her limitations, what she needed to improve on, new techniques she could try, and the like. It was really the only thing they spoke about since she'd been to the Jungle. The entire time she was there she was trying to pick up on new skills and improve on what she had. It was all a part of the ongoing battle between the earthlings and their enemies, many of them being highly more powerful. But even such important conversation couln't keep this little terramancer awake. She definitely hadn't caught up on her sleep. The short time she had on the train just barely recharged her batteries. She probably should have taken to the crew's quarters while back on The Challenger, but she was preoccupied with Louis's shirt and, again, talking strategy with Titan. Now soft snores could be heard from the blonde, her hammock swaying slightly with the rocking of the ship.
Prote remained below deck as well. With the cooling of the weather he needed to retreat to warmer areas to keep his energy stores high. He sat in the galley, studying maps he had taken from the captain's quarters . . . that he wasn't necessarily supposed to have gone into, but what they didn't know wouldn't hurt them. He was going to return them anyway, all he needed was a few seconds to commit them to memory.
Jack stood at the helm, one hand on the wheel as he eyed the storm ahead stoically. He spared a glance to his side, seeing that Barbossa was still there. He grumbled, "You! Go away! I won't have you at the comand of my ship!"

{Barbossa : Caribbean Sea : The Black Pearl}
Barbossa had been where he felt he should be, at the helm. Steering the ship towards Shipwreck Cove, his eyes looking warily upon the storm that they were sailing into. This was where he belonged, as Captain of this ship... That was until Jack walked up to him and bumped him aside taking hold of the wheel for himself. He didn't seem irritated at all until Jack told him to go away.
"Your ship!? If it weren't for my leading the crew to the Locker this ship wouldn't be here. I am Captain of this ship!" He replied. "One of ye, make sure the lines are secure. Best to be prepared heading into this storm!" He yelled, giving an order to whoever, would act on it.
{Auron : Caribbean Sea : The Black Pearl}
Auron had immediately gone below deck after they had departed and was currently just sitting in one of the crew's quarters. Running through what he knew of their current situation in his head. He understood they were heading to Shipwreck Cove, to meet with other Pirate Lords as they were called.
'Such a meeting can only mean complications...' He thought, his eye still closed, seemingly unfazed by the rocking ship as it went through the stormy seas.
He stood up, slinging his massive katana over his shoulder as usual. He had to be careful and maneuver through the ship carefully to prevent the blade from hitting anything as he made his way into the galley. There his eyes rested upon the Geist that everyone had come to know as Prote. It seemed that he was currently looking over some maps.
"What do you think of this situation?" He asked the Geist, his eye not leaving him for a second.

[ Kyle ; Sora ; Zexion ; Kuja : The Caribbean : Black Pearl ]
Bah.
Kyle nodded half-heartedly to Joe's reassuring talk, knowing full well the incredulity of it; it was the same talk he gave people going under similar stresses. It was only now he realized, of course, how crappy the 'reassurance' was. You can't control it, so don't worry about it.
Why on earth would admitting you can't control something help calm you down?
Maybe I'm just a control freak.
"Well, when I can control my thought processes, I'll try to keep that in mind," he replied, chuckling lightly under his breath. "But honestly, felt nice just to spit that out- you can take that how you want."
Once again, Kyle chuckled, but it was more of a giddy laugh than a thoughtful one. However, that was shortly interrupted by Sayrike's whistling; it took Kyle a moment, but the tune made him laugh even louder- not at her, but at the memories.
"Hey, Noelle and I sang that when we were on a ship in Narnia!" Kyle said, remembering the instance well. It was just before they'd come across Ursula... and just before that blasted Empathy-curse-thing was cast on him. "What is it about boats that makes people want to sing?"
"Eh, I suppose that's true," Sora responded, shrugging before beginning to walk away from the edge. The crew of the Pearl were still rushing around, trying to fulfill Barbossa's orders. "Then again, the sleeping quarters don't have cargo, and down there you won't get thrown overboard by a strong wave."
The teen grinned, but not facing the two of them, so they couldn't see it as he walked away. Sure, he was a 'hero', but that didn't mean he couldn't be mischievous, right?

[ Seymour : Angel Grove : City Streets ]
"Hmm?" Seymour hummed in immediate response to the question, turning to glance down at the male with an curious look on his face. Ah, yes, Alan. The Black Mage- the one with magic potential comparable to the Pictomancer or the Time Mage.
"There is no such thing as a bad time to seek knowledge," Seymour responded reassuringly, his smile almost as if he was pleased to see someone seeking advice. He fully turned to face Alan, as if to provide his undivided attention. "Ask, and I shall answer to the best of my abilities."

[Anthony ~.~ Caribbean Sea ~.~ Black Pearl]
"At least some of us are singing...," Anthony said sickly, overhearing Kyle's response to Sayrike's and Jacob's whistling. He was leaning over the railing of the ship not that far from them, one hand on his stomach and the other supporting him on the railing, as the familiar feeling of nausea overwhelmed him once again. "How much longer are we going to spend on this world? I suggest for our next world we go somewhere that doesn't involve using boats as our primary mode of travel."
After some time of gagging, the sea sickness finally surfaced in the form of vomit, as Anthony spewed whatever food he had eaten on Tortuga into the crashing waves below. Using his hand, he wiped away whatever remnants around his mouth, then turned to the group behind him. "So... crazy weather we're having, huh?" he finally said, gagging a little at the end.

[Joe: Caribbean Sea: Black Pearl]
The male's smile faded as Kyle spoke about Narnia. Bad memories got trudged up.
Memories...heh....
He had attacked his allies. Tried to kill them. Horribly. Those memories didn't fade when he regained his memories. He had remembered his anger, his hatred.
It was a small laugh, condescending almost, that escaped him. "Heh...guess I do hate most humans." he mumbled, only Kyle being likely to hear him.
And the male, face stoic, turned his head to the sea, eyes watching the sky and water as it churned.
"The storm rages, the wind howls...it will be quite bad. Horrible even.... Let it come."

[Dawn : Caribbean Sea : Black Pearl]
Dawn glanced nervously between James and Sora. From the sounds of it, no where was safe on this ship was safe. Either be thrown around like a bean bag, or be thrown into the water... Her imagination soon started to stir around with the different scenarios of what would happen if she were to go over board. Those scenarios included, but different stop at, drowning, being eaten by a shark and fish people.....
The dancer shivered as she looked between James and Sora once more. Both of them gave valid points as to how the different areas of the ship would be unsafe to hide from tossing of the ship. Dawn already there was nowhere on the ship to hide from the unforgiving claps of thunder and lightning.
"Ahh!" Dawn yelled out, as she took her head into her hands, "Nowhere is safe! Garuda was right, I should of stayed on the train!"

[[ Louis : The Caribbean : Black Pearl]] [[Cue: Dark Night of The Soul]] The shadowmancer sat comfortably near the ship's helm, with his legs dangling over the railing as he stared ahead at the storm cloud approaching. Louis glanced down onto the deck, spotting some of the others scattered about talking to one another. In Dawn's case, Sora and James consoled her to calm down and try to relax despite the brooding turbulence on the horizon. "Dark skies lie before me..." he droned off at the sound of his own voice reciting a dream, "I wonder what lies beyond these clouds... paradise or another empty wasteland..." Louis could almost smell the rain on the air, the thick, choking humidity that hung grasping to the deep interior of his chest. It was a familiar scent, a welcome scent, yet somehow lost to the boy who showed no emotional reaction to the familiarity. His eyes once more rested on the members present on the deck of the ship: Carefree, Relaxed, Observant... yet Blind... Hopeful, Naive, Discontent, and Restless... were they all so ill prepared for the coming storm that such emotions could be read so clearly on their faces... easily manipulated... effortlessly controlled... yet... who could tell what message could be read through his own expression. He had no mirror, no camera to monitor his own gaze that could give away the heaviness in his heart. Pain would befall this group. It was inevitable. It was uncontrollable. The replicas alone held the power to wreck havoc on their being. Louis had neither the power, nor resources to stop it... not in his state... not under those circumstances. Would he simply remain the onlooker as everything unfolded before him... unable to take action to right his mistakes? Would he be cursed to remain silent until the very reason for his being was lost in the tides like the countless waves crashing headlong into the bow of the ship? They're still not ready...Louis spun around on the rail and dropped his feet back to the hard wood deck. His feet moved below him as he glided from the helm to the stairs, down those then through the door into the bowels of the ship. They're not ready... not ready... and neither am I...

[Carribean Sea ~ The Black Pearl]
Prote looked up at the samurai blankly, thinking of a response. "Well, I don't believe it to be ideal if that's what you're asking . . . I wouldn't trust either Jack or Barbossa as . . . what is the phrase you humans use? 'As far as I could throw them.' From what I gathered back at the hut belonging to Tia Dalma, they have no interest in anything but themselves. The children are in danger so long as they are involved in the pirates' affairs, for they are . . . expendable to their interests."
---
Jack stumbled for words for a brief second before bursting out, "Twaddlespeak! I'm captain! A captain always goes down with his ship. Who went down with the Pearl? I did, even if it wasn't on purpose. Therefore, I am this ship's rightful captain and, now that we're both alive and kicking, I remain as such."
--
The ship almost rumbled with the last loud clap of thunder, sending Noelle sprawling in her hammock as the ship rocked with a wave. The blonde gave a distressed shout and fell from her resting place, hitting the hard woooden planks of the second deck. What felt like an electric shock ran through her as she was struck by fear, making her feel cold. This certainly wasn't the most ideal way to wake up. The nice toss and terrifyingly loud boom had her disoriented mind reeling. It took her a good minute or two to wake up a little more and recover from the shock of falling out of her hammock. The agromancer's fear gradually resided and she let out a long breath, sitting up on the floor and rubbing her eyes.
I didn't even realize I was dosing off. How long was I out? 'Maybe about an hour now. The ship seems to be heading into a nasty storm.' Yeah, I gathered.
Noelle took a few more moments to collect herself and get back to her feet, which proved a little difficult for her tired body due to the rocking of the ship. She looked around and didn't see anyone else down there. That was okay, though, because she got some desperately needed rest. After fully recovering from her more than likely graceful tumble, Noelle carefully sat herself back in her hammock. They could be sailing for forever, so she would just catch up on her rest until they got somewhere. Not that she would be able to get to sleep again, the thunder and rocking ship would make sure of that.

[Kyla: Angel Grove: Streets] As well as keeping an eye out for henchmen, Kyla had noticed the prolonged absence of Axel and wondered only the worst… what bothered her the most was how their actions had become idle. Something had to happen- and it was hard to figure out just which way to act with the all the unknowns.
In the past hour, after the last scuffle, Kyla had stepped outside the strong hold they’d set up to think. She was perched on what looked like a pile of rubble- but in fact it was the corner tip of a building which had fallen over and she sat calmly on a piece of the ornate tip, how pointing horizontally in the direction of the distant mountains of Hawaii.
What do we do now? This has to come to a close- just like all the others- this world follows a formula similar to that of its original story…
“- so what do you know? Axel is missing, Ivan Ooz will mostly likely be in his base creating those nasty monster zords using the parents to dig them up. The rangers are away getting their powers, and Beatrix & Yuffie are taken by the enemy. Because we’ve not clashed with them yet.. I’d say either they’re hiding out in the city- working with the other parents, or-“ “-Waiting at the base. Eventually, the rangers will come back- and face him. But it’s the replica’s which are the wild card. Could they all be there?“
Pushing off the edge she dropped about 2 feet onto the rumble ridden street and forced herself to make a decision.
“ One way or another, it has to end. The question remains will we stand by- “ Tyue fazed back into her partner, her voice now a mental echo in the back of her mind once more. ~ So then we’re going? Better tell the others, they might want to come.~“Sounds good, besides, Axel has taken too long, and we need to rescue Yuffie and Beatrix.”
Kyla was about to go back inside the church, intent on telling the rest of them what she intended to do, when she heard that strange crying again. Kyla stopped so suddenly because it sounded very familiar. It was sorrowful, lonely, hurt… the high pitch made it seem like it must belong to a very small child. With no parents around who was to care for it?
Kyla was no parent, and she couldn’t go about helping every bawling baby- but, she couldn’t live with herself if she ignored it. It sounded close too, she wouldn’t’ have to step away too far.
’ Now.. this is the part in the story when the stupid girl goes off alone and gets into serious trouble. No on MY watch- CALL someone to come with. Now! ‘
So like the more responsible person she was hoping to be, Kyla stuck her head back inside the main area and mentioned out loud to anyone who would hear. “I think I hear a child crying somewhere close, I’m just going to see if it’s ok...” she paused a moment, wondering if they even heard then mummbled, "After that... I'm headed to the base I think." She stepped back quickly, taking more then one step back, asking herself why she was suddenly acting so bold. A flood of emotions assailed her, shame, embarassment, anxiety- since when did she make decitions and tell others about them- she acted alone, at least she used to. Being in this 'team', was still a vast adjustment.
Kyla began to second guess herself, the last BIG decition she made, got everyone in trouble back in China town. She choose to stay and face whatever was comming and they nearly got pwned by Sephiroth! She still hadn't forgiven herself for putting others at risk like that. Perhaps she should lie- change her mind- then leave on her own. If something went wrong, there were more then enough people to take her place.

[Alan :: Angel Grove :: Streets]
Alan nodded silently for just a second, collecting his thoughts. "This concerns, um," he paused, searching for the words, "well, you remember how Jon mentioned your appearance in the Chronicles?"
There was a hint of awkwardness in the edges of Alan's voice - he was clearly cogniscent of how unpleasant that conversation had been, "I guess I'd like to try to ascertain how much of it is accurate. See, there are parts of the chronicles that seem to run at . . . odd angles to the truth, and your name only appears in some of the less credible parts." Alan felt a bit guilty for saying this much without consulting the others, but he was confident that he had revealed nothing they didn't want him to. Besides, it was true.
"But they say, for example, that you were a sage who taught that life is an endless spiral of suffering to which death is the only escape. Do you, I mean, is that accurate to your views, Maester?"
