Excellent.
Maximos twisted the space beneath the blade and the staff curious if it would separate like many of the other naginata's he had seen did. Regardless of the result he looked up at Enki with a bit of a sly smile.
Any other secrets in this beautiful blade?

Nothing happens as Maximos twists it. Enki lunges at him quickly as Maxi toys with it, the dagger in his right hand held up defensively as the other is held at his side. When he's in striking range, he juts it out toward Maxi's gut.

Again. They were in a fight, not a conversation. To proceed as if they were not would have been entirely foolish. He wasnt toying with the blade beyond a single twist at the neck. A twist which obviously produced nothing. And forward came Enki.
Maximos spun the naginata in his grip. The staff, end smacking the dagger down and out of harms why, while the blade was was pushed forward at Enki's open neck, all in one relatively fluid motion.
The weapon simply smacked, and then slid forward in the open space between the arms. Needless to say it was all fast, Maximos was all about speed.
The other arm could defend if it wanted too. And if it didnt, Maximos had no intention of actually cutting Enki. If left unhindered it would simply stop at his neck. He simply took a very stern look to his face and said.
Careful now, that could be mistaken for lethal force.

"It's less lethal force..." There are two sides to a Naginata. When you push one side away you bring the other closer. So by pushing the blade away, the pole end of the naginata was brought up, smacking his arm aside. And of course, as the weapon was moving in a circular motion, that meant that blade was coming around yet again. This time of course, from the underside of Enki's arm. Thusly placed beneath his defense, as it would be below his arm. Maximos would step forward into Enki's advancement, and glide his arms in and upper rightward motion. The blade moving to deliver an upper rightward diagonal slash. From the hip to the shoulder presumably. Right between his arms. And as this was a wide slash from a weapon with a large staff, it should presumably push Enki back while trying to deliver that cut.

By pushing up on the blade, it would not have the force to make the blade actually hurt him or be able to bring the blade back around because by that time Enki would be well within the pole, causing the blade to be useless the way you're holding it. He's just kinda standing in front of your now, holding the blade up))

Enki Leviathan ((A naginata is 7 feet long. He's just kinda standing in front of your now, holding the blade up)) ((You were "coming" at me. Of course your attack alone isnt enough to spin it around. I would have to assist it, giving it that force. Basically, you hit it, and I just followed the motion bringing it around. You never said where you were exactly, you just said you were coming. So I filled in the gap. I assumed you were about 2ft away. And I mentioned my hands were on the neck of the weapon. Secondly, why would it be useless? Its not trapped between two walls, there are openings in my body. A simple lean back and theres more than enough space to force a swing, it would just require giving enough force to shove you back along with slash...which he is capable of. You do realize, it is more than possible to fight with a pole arm at close range, dont you?))

((Of course I'm aware of that. So then you're holding it by the neck of the weapon? Also, you never said you leaned back to attack with. If you were spinning it with how close I was, it wouldn't do much. So let us continue making the assumption that you DID lean back and I'm about two feet away. Also, if the pole hit me, it wouldn't be able to do a follow through and bring the blade back around))
Enki was hit with the pole, but all it really did at that range was sting quite a bit. He drops the dagger right there and grabs hold of the pole where it hit him and braces it under his arm, stopping the blade end from being able to spin back around at him. Now Maxi would either have to release his grip or do something else quite interesting, but being so close gave Enki a slight advantage. He quickly brings his other dagger up and stops it right in front of Maxis gut.

((I'm sorry, I hate to nag. Your right, I didnt say I leaned back, and that was definately my fault. I just assumed it as part of normal motion. But I did say this... Maximos So by pushing the blade away, the pole end of the naginata was brought up, smacking his arm aside. Your post phrased it as if I was swinging horizontally for your side. I was aiming for your arm, the arm that was leading, to smack it. It was a vertical spin not a horizontal one. So the pole wouldnt be sticking around. It would just smack and keep moving, unless your saying after it smacked your arm, you dropped the dagger and grabbed it? Just a little clerification, is all. ))

It was a room, basement sorta thing. Dim, dank, unsettling. The dimensions were all skewed though. The ceiling seemed low, but if you jumped up to touch it, your fingers would brush air, as if it was always just out of reach, without ever really -moving-. The walls possessed the same unpleasant effect, so the exact borders of the room were somehow unreachable. The lighting was enough that it didn't hinder perception, and was easily accustomed to, but it still set a sort of atmosphere. The floor itself was concrete, rough and dusty, the kind of thing bare feet gripped nicely.
Shouyin stood there, poised in a fighting stance (he'd gotten used to this strange dispossession of his consciousness long ago, though only when it happened, like a dream you knew you had, but couldn't remember). Left foot was in the back, feet shoulder-width apart with knees slightly bent. He was wearing a pair of baggy black pants, the karate sort that hugged the waist but hung around the ankles, and probably some boxers. Both hands were in loose fists, left near the chin, right in line with it and about a foot and a half in front of the shoulder.
It was chilly.

Dandelions. Snowy fields. Flying through the clouds. And then the chill of cold cement with only a thin layer of cotton standing between it and pale bare feet. His boots were kicked off in a corner somewhere, a most annoying fact as he couldnt seem to "find", the corner.
He had long loose black track pants with a white stripe going down the leg. The zipper pulled up to about an inch below the knee. A matching hooded black suit top rested over his medium build, unzipped to about the middle of his chest, revealing the white cotton shirt beneath. A hand ran through his spiky dark blue hair.
Well um...
His left hand slid inside his side pocket, while his right just sort fell limp at his side. He looked entirely unprepared for a fight...Looked.
...should we start?

-> LP Despite the cool posture, Shouyin was ******** agitated, having just been ejected from a rather indulgent sort of dream, loaded with sinful excess. His expression remaing the same (= |), but there was an extra anger behind that first straight lead.
The man in black would just be finishing up his sentence when the half-golem drew his lead shoulder back a bit, pulling the fist away briefly so as to hop forwards off his rear foot and torque his body counter-clockwise, popping said shoulder out to add a bucket loaded with force to that vertical-fisted straight punch. His first three knuckles would aim to collide with the space below the other man's left eye before his fist snapped back as quickly as it had been thrown out. Having stung like a bee, Shou would float like a butterfly, shuffling a foot or two to his right around his opponent; in and out, guerrilla warfare.

Looked.
Those key words were always tricky. Maximos' dreams involved old rampages of the Destroyer. He slept to a test of his sanity. He woke, trying to shake off the feeling of blood seeping from his fingers. He was more ready than his lax stance could ever show.
Speed, and attack. Thats all that mattered. Keep them wincing until they're screaming and broken.
That...
Maximos said, as he bent at the waist carrying him forward into the fist, and yet not. That rough stone fist just barely missed kissing his cheek, as he moved forward, he had to strike before the arm was fully extended. His right foot carried him forward.
His right arm moved up, to snatch the stone arm at the wrist. While his left swung a stiff jab for the mans open ribs.
...was rude.

Ooo, close. The first strike almost hit, that would've shown the old cliché. Though, it wasn't like Shou would've let himself get popped with that; it was all fair in war, but nothing was in love. Coming off the tangent, the half-golem would ride the next wave, going with the flow 'n all. Maximos would have Shou's wrist, and he'd be shifting into his jab, which would hit, but things were about to get all messy.
Following the counter-clockwise pop rotation a little more extremely then he'd planned, instead of circling off, the man would step forward with his left foot, crossing it behind his right and unwinding his legs to add some extra zing to his next move. It was like a spinning backfist, except, instead of the back of his left hand smacking against Max's cheek, it'd be the small bone side of the forearm, coming 'round like a baseball bat to the side of the head. Max would have his jab, but the turn of Shou's torso would force his hand to 'slide' off, reducing some of the force and making it an easy sacrifice for the other fighter.
Shouyin would finish spinning with his left leg forward, 180º, but his momentum would be enough that he'd bring his right foot back around in front to balance himself out completely. At this point Maximos' head would be well on its way to the concrete, the body following as usual.

Maximos Correct. While Damrius could not assume anything about Maximos' skill or his endurance their were certain constants that the two of them had to bend to no matter the differences that divided them. In other words, Damrius had no way of knowing how fast or strong, or even tough that arm could be. He could not assume how strong Maximos' grip was or even how strong of a hold he had on the pillar. However, he could assume the constants. Such as the fact that the arm, had wieght, which means even if Maximos had the strength to move it fast, it was still heavy. Secondly, there was a pillar, and pillars no matter who was on them, are only so strong. Which meant, quite simply, that the lightning was beautifully successful. The arm was bearing down on Damrius his legs were carrying him and yet it seemed to be gaining. And then the bolt hit, with the massive weight of the arm already on it, it was horribly unbalanced, and down it went. Just 5ft or so from reaching Damrius the arm bent curving inwards, the clawed digits scraping a huge chunked out of the surface Damrius was walking on but leaving him otherwise unscathed as the massive palm smashed into the ground, flattening a few of the uprisen tiles. This gave Maximos a grip, something he needed, because he was falling. A startled look across his features, his concentration was entirely broken for a moment expelling the massive shadow he had absorbed causing it to explode out in something of a giant tuft of black as Maximos fell, and was pulled, again much like a tether to the point where the palm had landed. The black quickly swirling and zooming back behind the pillar from whence it came. Leaving Maximos looking a bit loopy in the middle of a giant hand print. His right arm shrunken back to normal size and a yet seemingly covered in some sort of black gauntlet. [[Sorry for taking so long to post. Big tests all week... Didn't want to get my self uber distracted and not focus on the studies for them. Grad. Requirements.]] Damrius stopped his climbing of the stairs slowly, gathering his breath. His plan had worked, thankfully. He was worried maximos would raect faster than the plan would work, which would have kinda sorta sucked. Noticing that Maximos was somewhat loopy, damrius took his shot. Pulling in a charge, he set his foot on the edge of the stair case, and used it as a sort of spring board. He jumped towards maximos, drawing his sword, and holding it as if Damrius had become a living arrow. The blade gleamed in the candle light, and it was probably a stupid move, but with his opponenet somewhat loopy, And most likely slightly damaged, Damrius took his chance to strike. It was headon, oh yes. But, it was also an open shot, which was what he was taught to strike at. And he took that too literally sometimes. His opponent could be faking, as a way to lure Damrius in, but he took his chances anyway, despite slim they might be. Charge - 8
