Ah Good, He could pick out words and use them well. This actually pleased her, atleast this one had a brain and actually used it well. The sneeer feel into a smile, she placed the sppon back onto the table with a nod of her head. "Good, Good, You can think I see. Well then if your done now talking such talk, I think its best if we get started on our first assignment." She got what she wanted out of the 'conversation.' And it was getting late. The bird boy heaved a sigh of relief, he was pretty sure The young Teen of a captain would have ripped out a knife and stabbed the rookie right in the eye after he had said something like that....Atleast thats what she did when she was thirteen to the last newcomer who tried something like that. Er...He never returned to Mishaps after his release from the infirmary.
Gene couldn't help but laugh louder at her statement. Seemed someone decided to back out. Never the less, he agreed, and after a couple of chuckles he calmed down a bit and decided to pay attention to serious matters.

"Hehe... anyways... first assignment? Already? Shouldn't I be filed in appropiately first or was that already taken care of?"

It just kind of took him as a surprise that he had been already filed into the team so suddently after he had gotten into the organization. Was he really already to get into the first assignment? If so, then good, actually. Atleast he wouldn't have to wait.

Making it into the mess hall, Cyrith reflected on how he got there. Arriving at the compound, his stomach grumbled. Asking for directions, and still managing to get lost...Sorry. Not lost, misguided. Then arriving in time to see a guy with food stuff all over his face, and the girl glaring at him. Made him think of a few choice girls he knew.

Grabbing a plate, he loaded it up with all the mush and grub he could, then after finding a suitable place to sit, he dug in with gusto. He hadn't eaten for a couple days, and he was starved. Didn't help that he never had time for food when he was on his jobs, though.

Hrisskar made his way to the mess room, and sat down to a bowl of cornflakes and milk. While he was eating he eyed the newcomer who had just arrived, and saw him eating like he never ate before. Grinning, he relocated opposite him.

"Feeling hungry, are we?", he said with a grin. "I don't think I've seen a man eat so much since I was in the Soviet Army."

Cyrith almost choked on his food from the stifled laugh, but he managed to swallow it. This produced a series of coughs that hurt a bit, but in between, one could hear the definite signs of laughing. He looked at the man that sat next to him, and immediately liked the man. He had a hidden strength to him.

Right before he was about to talk, though, he swallowed any food that was in his mouth. He was semi-courteous to others. "Well, I just got finished with a solo job for another client where I didn't get the chance to eat for a couple days. This is to make up for that."

"Its a rookie mission for training purposes, we are headin' ta the city of Urkal for Market Security and Thief 'relocation.'" Xinrie glanced over at the other two people of the mess hall, one seemed rather familiar, but the other was another new face. She cast her eyes downward at her cup of Soda, swilring the liquid about the place for a bit. "Rubiks, Another Squad Member shall meet us in the portal room, and Birdboy 'ere will accompany us since we have a bad shortage of members for htis one."

Eva took one last glance at the first mate. In a glint of sunlight, she caught the corner of what looked like an acanthus leaf and a small sphere on the ring he wore around his neck. That jolted her slightly, but she was still unable to quite pinpoint why. She shook her self out of her reverie and strode out on deck. "I believe it's time to get this show rolling. Tech, call if you get work. Or if s**t goes down. Katsu, I believe you know what you're doing. You and you," she jabbed a finger at two random corsairs. "Help me get the glider up the crow's nest, I'll need extra altitude to launch it." They considered disobeying her, but she moved on with the whole operation with a confidence that would have made them look like utter fools should they choose not to participate.

It was nearly five hours after the whole thing got underway that the first ships came into sight, two warships appearing far to port of the Archduke.

((I have suck writer's block for this thread right now, plus junior year and SAT's and such. Sorry for being such a freakin flake))

Sokato has been standing at the oak doors all night. He has not moved an inch from that spot all night, just standing, staring at the giant ornate oak doors. He finally looks at his watch and sees that it is already morning. "That time already eh?" Really the only reason he stood their all that time is that he knew he could. He knew he had more time on his hands then any one cold possibly imagine. Thats why. One of the thing that people do with time when they have to much of it on their hands is waste it. Its easy when they have plenty to waste.

Sokato knocks on the oak doors again. "They may of not heard me the first time." He mumbled under his breath.

((I can't wait for the guild Xinrie. Just take your time and don't rush it.))

Brian finally managed to climb intop the pilote seat, as he saw them. They were two wonderful beautys of fricking huge echos on the radar. He grinned, and activated the few little gadgets he had rigged up to cause a ruckus when something would approach. The smallest sign of disturbance, and he activated the laser-communications link to the upper decks, where he suspected Captain Eva.
"Captain Eva, I hav two big buggers of ships just entering the outer space of the radar-range. Scanning.... I have all outgoing transmissions on ..... Ok, that was close. One of the guys up there really thought that it would be wise to radio in a report to a "Central station". Could not have that happen. We have about five minutes before the guy notices he speaks to a healthy reccording of a big busted brunette AI, and seriously tries to call out. I repeat, the navy is in radar reach. I would suggest we use the five minutes to prepare, while the bad guys still try to figure out what is happening. After that, The Librarian and I will try go away from the ship, to still remain in the visual shadow,, and we will engage in combat as fast as we can. So, captain, we are ready for battle, and we only wait for your OK to get this battle-platform airborne, so we can rain hell and firey destruction on them. "
Brian grinned, and waited for a response, as the Librarian crawled from under the Skiff. and held an empty spraycan in his hand. It had been quite a nice touch to spray the thing's bottom in a skyblue (he had that part from an ancient war-novel about the atlantic war), and the top-patrts that were not covered by solar panels in a sort of brownish-green, like the current land that was deep under them. Brian grinned, and readied everything on its place. The hand grenades, The two additional boxes of ammunition, that would enable 1 hour 30 of uninterrupted autofire by the Librarian, the sticky bombs, the anti personnell mines, and such.
He was very confident, and stayed it, as he entered the data of the two navy battleecruisers, as he had dubbed them, into the computer, and pressed calculate.

Slowly, the last pieces of information came down, he circled his finger over the enter button on his glove-keyboard. When the flying heck would that woman give the neccesary OK to start the reighn of destruction-tour?

He leaned back, fastened his seatbelt, made sure that the librarian was safely stored, had his gasmask on tight, and lit himself a cigar. He simüply had to smoke one. it would calm his nerves down.
"Librarian", he said, over the intercomm in their helmets, which relied on the cable transmission inside the cockpit, which was basically built like a commanche, "You afraid of heights? or great speeds?"
He did not need to look back to see that the librarian shook his head fiercely. He grinned, and waited for the signal.

Azora sighed and walked into the hallway, carrying the rather small grey bow that was the radio. She sat on the wooden planks of the hall outside the room that stored the ores and placed the radio down in front of her, turning the volume to he minimum low and taking off both her ear plugs. (not so sure if it's like a big machine or not...) She leaned her head on the wooden door frame and heaved yet another sigh. Guilt started to build up again but she shook it away. She turned the knobs, making sure that all the channels were open. Nothing so far....

"Go right ahead, my pyromaniacally inclined friends. Fire at will, we'll open on your lead. Over." Eva then called down to the deck for the crew to ready their combustible weapons, but mostly to prepare themselves to perform complicated steering-related activities at the drop of a hat. She herself went through the process of straightening out the wings of her glider and readying her Mishap bolt gun, which she had discreetly stowed away in her skivvies. She started the engine and hooked her feet under the wooden slats of the crow's nest to prevent herself from lifting off yet.

Belowdecks, the First Mate wandered haphazardly into the cargo hold, looking extremely nervous and nearly walked into Azora. "Ah. Hello there...ah....Katsu, was it? Good, good..." He was still fidgeting with that pendant. He sat down against a wall, apparently hoping that if he did not call any further attention to his presence, neither would anyone else.

Brian grinned, and activated the catapult start. Basically, they and the skiff were snatched out of the under deck, with closed wings and only minimal acceleration, and plummeted like a stone. he made sure that the blue side of the skiff was showing towards the battleships...... he would be visible all the way down.
His height indicator dropped. 1000 meters, 900 meters, .....
at 500 meters, he reacted, and opened the wings, while he pulled her out of the descent at a reasonnable level.
He grinned, as the computer corrected his prognosis in his HUD, and showed the best of everything. He grinned, and pressed the button for the release of the first bombing material, mostly useless grenades.
He was sure that from above, it had looked like he had been unable to pull up right away, and had crashed into a bunch of trees. He knew that the librarian was coping most excellently with the situation, because inside the plastic capsule, he heard him readying his gun. Brian grinned as they flew over the land. The effect was called to pull a kobayashi Maru, or a frigging danger for public safety. Basically, through the descend, they had gathered more speed and acceleration then anybody could seriously need, and through the activation of the wings, they now rode on a serious polster of air towards the enemy, steadily increasing. He checked his speed... 60, 70, 80, 90..... at 100 miles per hour, he stopped counting. he exactly followed the path that the computer had calculated. he counted the seconds.
"3, 2, 1" he said over the skiffs intercomm, and pressed the button for the jet engines, while he pulled up. He looked at the clock in his HUD, and grinned widely. He had beaten anybody flying straight by allmost three full minutes. Still grinning, he signed the librarian to open the window, and beginn.

The Librariabn was on a riush of adrenaline, as he carefully stabilized his stance on the seemingly fragile but stable wing, and calculated the best method of actually where to throw the sticky sockbombs. Then, he fould it. the perfect spot.
he grinned, and banged twice on the plastic hull of Brian, which signalled him to go a bit higher.
He readies his stance, and threw. In the short time of about 1 minute they had used up while passing at the outer side of the right ship, The librarian had fired ten sock bombs with electric detonators, and all where the jetengine was fixed on the hull of the ship. Then, he had Brian on his helmet.
"Guy, most excellent. They have not even noticed us. "
His voice trembled, as he put the belly of the skif towards the battle cruisers. He had a contact, and immediatelly fired a signal towards the Archdukes optical radio. A light beam of a green laser, coded in green light, caught by the archdukes reccievers, and transformed by the pieces of tech Brian had left there for the Ears of Captain eva and the blind girl.
"Am alive and at best health. ten bombs plastered across the jet engine of the right guy. wait , and don't you dare steal my opening........"
Brian grinned, as he swooped under the other battleship, and as the Librarian began throwing the next set on ten sticky bombs. They would never know what hit them. Perhaps it was just luck, but it made a friggin good opening.

Seeing as how he wasn't getting a response from the guy across from him, and Cyrith had already finished his food, Cyrith excused himself. "It was a pleasure talkin ta ya, but I gotta go. See ya later, possibly." Then he went and dropped off his dishes in the appropriate bins.

Pulling out the letter he got, he scanned over everything it said. "Come to compound. Yep, did that one. Eat. That too. Meet squad in portal room. Not yet. Guess I should find out where it is." Cyrith walked up to one of the other people in the mess hall, who happened to be Xinrie, although he didn't know that.

"Ma'am, would you happen to know the way to the portal room? I need to go there, and I'm new here." He chuckled slightly, but in an embarrassed manner.

Shrugging, Gene made a bit of a grimace. "Rookie mission, huh? Meh... well, I guess somethin is somethin. I just hope those punks put up a fight." Both of his arms crossed over his chest as he looked at the other two in the mess hall that the captain was looking at.

"Heh. I'm not surprised", Gene replied to the captain, "I wouldn't go if I had something better to do." Fortunately for her, he didn't.
