That all seems to work out. Just practice a little bit and slowly, the normal prices will be set in your mind. You don't need to be extremely accurate; the really good deals are extremely obvious.

Focusing on a single item isn't exactly helpful. The only item I have snagged more than once is the Winter Rose. I got an 8k one and another one that I can't remember the price of. I think those were about a month apart.

In my History class, I was "collaborating" with my two friends who sat behind me. We wrote in one of their notebooks. Each of us supplied one word at a time to form some sentences, that turned into a story that is extremely random and goes nowhere. Here's chapter one:

'When a BUNNY ate three horses and some zebras, he died. sad His mommy will not laugh because he was not hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobic. The loch ness monster ate the green zebra then went to Mars for cheese. Anyway, a lemon fell on top of a foot.'

We wrote it mostly because of boredom and to make us all laugh.
