I thought having an education and being trained in something was suppose to make getting a job easier. ARGH!
I would imagine that's not true?

Kori's right, having a college degree initially make it harder to get a job. One of the great ironies in life.

Once you get experience though, then it's much easier. Classic Catch-22: You can't get a job without experience, but you can't get experience without a job. Where's Yossarian when you need him?

You're either over qualified for doing things like... Being a camp counsellor. Or you're under qualified because you don't have your BSW. I'm so agitated by this entire situation. And it's not like I don't have experience... I was a CYC in a school for 5 months, and I worked as an employment counsellor for a few months. Gah.... What a waste of time and money.

Seems like people are out and about lately. I know I've been keeping busy myself.

I'm moving back to Alberta. I've stuck this out long enough, and quite frankly I'm sick of the bullshit. I can't wait to get the ******** out of here.

Gaia sucks.

Those stupid movie/game promoting quests are awful. You know how much money they're making? A TON. It's worse than all the advertisements on myspace. And that silver (mythril) halo pissed me off too. They've become total capitalists, everything's about the money. Every other announcement is about a new movie quest or a new way to give them donations. It's awgul.

That's how the real world works Laurel. Once someone finds a way to make some cash that actually works, they push it more and more. When it was just a startup, they didn't have huge overhead costs, but now that it's serving over 100,000 people daily (if not substantially more), someone's gotta pay for that. Since I use FF with AdBlock, about the only time I notice advertisements is when they pop up in announcements. And yes, I do find them lame, but it's a small personal price to pay for the service that I get.

Work has still been crazy. Last 3 months we've been doing $20k in sales every week, which we normally only did about 2 weeks per year (4th of July week and our Anniversary Sale week). Needless to say, I've been friggin' exhausted.

Got into a religious argument with my ex. I was saying that Jesus was a good person, since many religions (while they don't believe he's the Son of God/Trinity) believe that he is a prophet, and a very great teacher. She ended up comparing him to Hitler, and being a real b***h about it. I'm hardly Christian, but I do believe that Christ was a good person. It was one of those little thing that just went too far for me. I've basically cut off all contact that I can possibly have with her. Which is good, since really all she did was hurt me.

C'est la vie

Well I broke my foot last week, so I've been hobbling around school trying to do my job. That's been a great time, especially when either I forget a part or get a phone call asking me to come back because they forgot something. All in all, I wish I had a moped, and being someone who actually cares what he drives, that says a lot.

My college course starts tomorrow, so that's another layer on my to-do cake. But the boss is happy with me, and when she leaves next June there's a good chance I'll see some benefits come from this. No, not that kind, you pervert.

I remember when I could actually follow a single discussion in the General Discussion Forum... I'm starting to agree very much with xLaurelX about Gaia starting to suck. I basically on visit this guild, since it's the only one that I've been in for an extended period of time. Plus you guys rule, so I'd wanna keep in touch.

Gaia has sucked in different ways from day 1. But I wouldn't have met the man I'm marrying without it, as ******** lame as that sounds. Everyone sort of evolved around it, and since most of us have been here since 03-04, we've watched this advertisement s**t pop up.

But at least they're honest about it. They aren't trying to hide the fact that they need to pay for this s**t somehow, and are trying to, god forbid, PLEASE US while getting the bills paid.

It's not like we pay to use this site, and the same people come here year after year. We just get older. Of course you're going to think the 14 year olds who come in next year are ******** retarded as far as discussion goes. You know what? I was too. And chances are, you all were as well.
The advertising sucks, but again. At least they're trying to make it less blatant. Incorporating minigames and items makes me feel less cheated, imho.

I'm with Tirion... I don't really bother with anything but this guild. I puzzle sometimes.

I'm sick right now. First time I've been sick in two years, and it blows. Five days of work left before I move back to Alberta. Hooray. I double faulted an entire set in a tennis match the other day. So disappointed in myself for that. I won some big points on the rally though, so I guess that's good. I'm 30 pounds away from my ideal weight. Which sounds like a lot, but considering I've already lost 50, it sounds pretty good to me.

It's nice to see that there are a few of us who have kept the bond strong between us. Some of us may come, some may go, but I'll try to keep this at least semi-uptodate so we all have a place to call home on Gaia.
