I gave the children their food and ate some myself before going to the lobby where Kang seemed to have fallen asleep in a chair. I smiled and put some food in front of him. I looked out to the street, I knew Takara had left and I wanted to go after her. I looked at Kang, I didn't want to wake him...I went over and kissed the top of his head lightly before going to the counter, "Sir can I have a piece of paper and borrow a pen", I asked politly.
"Yes, just a moment......here you go", He said. I bowed and wrote quickly before giving him back his pen and going back to Kang. I put the note on the table, it reads:
Kang, Im sorry for leaving you once more...but I wanted to let you rest my love. I must go after Takara and help the others at the isle of pain. I will return to you as soon as I can. Please wait for me...or if you like come as well when you awake. I just don't want to worry you. I love you...now and always....Love your wife, Runa I then walked out of the inn and to the stable.
As I slowly awoken from my slumber, I found a note before me. Picking it up I began to read it. "........." Crumpling it into a fist, I ignited it; burning it quickly to ash. "...Sh*t."
Walking out of the inn, I suddenly halted and looked back towards the top floor. "...Can't leave the children here alone..." I then looked once more outward, and back towards the inn. "...Damn it, Runa..."
Leaning up against the building, I took a pack of cigarettes from my pocket and began to smoke one in angst. I had no idea on what to do for I could not abandon little children, however I could not let Runa be alone. Although she may be with Takara, they were to be facing lycans. Powerful creatures, indeed. But even if I were to go along, I knew there will still be much trouble ahead of us.
"...I guess...I'm going to need his help after all..." Throwing the half-spent cigarette into the dirt, I leaped onto the roof of the inn, taking a small flute from my satchel. As I began to blow on it, an supersonic soundwave was produced. Then, in several moments, a creature was seen in the distance, hopping over buildings and structures. It was Jian.
As he arrived before me, he had a strange scent upon him. Blood from some sort of lesser demon. Perhaps an imp or fiend. It mattered little for I did not truly care. "Jian...I need you to go and assist Runa and Takara."
"You don't beat around the bush, do you, Kang?"
"Come on, I'm being serious. Do you think you can help them?"
"What is it you want me to do, exactly?"
"They went off towards the Isle of Pain, yet I don't know for sure if they are headed straight there. So I want you to find Runa and travel with her. Also, when you go to that island, you will be facing lycans."
"What's the matter, Kang? Can't handle a few poor-excuse for demons?"
"I would go, but I have to watch over some children. And I would ask you to watch them, but I would be affraid you'd eat them."
"Jeeze...Craddling robbing and everything..."
Grasping my spear tightly, I immediately whipped it around; tip towards his neck. "Watch yourself, Jian. This is a time of crisis. And once more...I am regretably asking for you help..."
"And why is that, Kang? Why do you feel the need to ask me for help? I'm sure there are more able bodies out there to help you."
"You know damn well that you are the only other one best suited for this mission...You've lived amongst them, before...You know how they act...You're the only one who won't hold back when fighting them..."
"And...?"
"...I trust you."
"There you go. Ha! But, like all things in life, it's gonna cost you."
Cringing at his words, I pulled back my spear and placed it upon my back. Hesitantly, I looked at him in anger and asked solemnly, "What is it...you want?"
With a devilish smirk he laughed a bit. Then, with his cold eyes he pierced into my soul, however his answer truly surprised me. "I want two loaves of bread and a pack of smokes." I stood there; confused and unsure. "Did you hear me, Kang? Go!"
As I rushed off and gathered his supplies, I also handed him my spear. Although I was definately unsure in doing so, I knew he would need the extra assist. Then, with a quick, respectful bow, he parted off; after Runa and Takara...Hopefully, to help them once more...
((Jian is going trailing Runa))
